It's allways a pleasure to come here in this hotel. The rooms are big and the location is good. I found that prices are a bit high for the season because it's not high season so I didn't expect almost 100€/night
Greet 2nd floor room, overlooking the river. Reasonable price - a little more than 500kn (end of Feb 2020). Rooms and bathrooms were clean. In room safe was provided. Clean and spacious reception area. Friendly and helpful staff - both, those at the counter and cleaning staff. Nice cafe-bar in the lobby. Well-stocked in-room mini-fridge. Room service available for meals and breakfast. Breakfast in lobby restaurant was great. 12PM check-out time allowed for a leisurely morning - which most hotels do not accommodate. (In my experience, most want ya out by 10AM.) Only things I'd suggest: 1) clarify where guests should park. Huge hotel, but the only clear parking places were few in number, right in front of the hotel. SURELY that tiny lot cannot accommodate all guests in the hotel! But where else should we have went? 2) Supply the room with extra pillows and a comforter in the closet, for those guests who sleep with two pillows, and who would like it a little warmer. 3) make it clear that there is no wifi password (as we spent a while trying to hunt one down until we realized there was none). We'd definitely stay here again.…
Since I wanted to have a spacious room with river view, I have booked a so-called “Family Room” (with a room size of 45 m², as indicated on Booking.com). Arriving at the hotel, first I did not understand the front desk officer’s question if we (my wife & me) really intended to use two rooms. Some minutes later it was already clear to me what he meant: the so-called “Family Room” (with a room size of 45 m², as indicated on Booking.com), is neither a spacious room, nor a cosy suit. On the contrary, it consists of two depressingly small, identic rooms separated by a door, and two lamentably small bathrooms, respectively. In addition, there was a strong smell of tobacco in both rooms and even in the entire 3rd floor hallway. I do not even mention the dead shieldbug (Rhaphigaster nebulosa) on the windowsill —, I just wondered when the room could be last cleaned. I complained in vain about the small rooms and the unbearable smell of tobacco: no bigger room with river view was offered in the entire several-floor building. As for the smell of tobacco, the lady at the front desk simply found it impossible. In order to emphasize her statement, after having made a phone call, she triumphantly declared that the room maid herself did not smell any tobacco smoke, either. In addition, to crown all of these, when I said we were then leaving the hotel, the receptionist had the face to remind me of the hotel’s cancellation policy. Thus, all I could do was to remind him that I would give an appropriate rating on Booking.com. Incredible! As if we were flying back into the era of communism. Never ever again! (Just for information: Finally, we spent the night at a fantastic four-star downtown hotel —, I will rate it after my next Osijek journey.)…
Staying at this hotel. Twin room, lovely views of the river. I have to say I’ve never had service at breakfast like it. Pavica is tremendous and a young guy in glasses are both very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Could do with kettles in the room, but this might be a croatian thing!
Another great stay at Hotel Osijek. We stayed for 5 nights over the Christmas period. We always receive a warm welcome when we stay. This visit was the same. The hotel itself is great but the biggest asset this hotel has is it's staff. They make your stay special. Nothing is too much trouble for them. A special mention must go to Panica, the lady who served us in the restaurant everyday, she was really exceptional.
