The Kastel Pansion is one of those beautiful off the beaten track locations far away from the everyday fast pace of life, the auto barns and traffic. Setup your GPS to avoid tolls and experience hideaway places like this. The Service, Room, Food and your own veranda just added to the magic night we had here.

Located in the small village of Kastelir, offers peace in high touristic season. The hosts are very helpful and you should try their fantastic food. The rooms are very nice and I will definitely be back!

We stayed for a week in this great place and after we had dinner once the first night we couldn't find anything better! Just listen to the raccomandations of the staff and you won't regret it. The rooms are very clean and nice and you can really "feel" Istria in Kastel. It is 10 min away from Porec which was...

We enjoy staying in B&Bs all over Europe as a way to get to know the local people and culture. This B&B experience in the sleepy town of Kastelir was exceptional on so many levels. We felt as if we were soaking up history within the tastefully decorated stone walls of this 200 year old home. We particularly enjoyed the...

Wonderful small boutique hotel in the hills outside of Porec. Excellent food for both breakfasts and dinners. Stilver, the proprietor, was very helpful in every way. Kastelir is a small village without the beach resort feel of Porec- a great place for visiting the hilltowns (Groznjan was our favorite) or the beaches. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking...

We really enjoyed our stay. We travelled with our two children (13&15) and as a family were given two good sized bedrooms with a family lounge area and outdoor patio area as well. Bedrooms were tidied every day and we got clean towels daily if not twice daily too. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful and the host was charming!...

This quiet and lovely boutique hotel is now at the top of my list of favorite places. I spent 3 nights here and loved the morning breakfasts of fresh and local fruits, homemade croissants and crepes (pancakes). In fact. of all of the breakfasts we had for our 3 week stay in Croatia, Kastel was the only hotel that served...

We liked this place very much! Located in the pretty village of Kastelir, not far away from Porec, Motovun, Groznjan, Umag etc. it offers peace and calm(which is quite needed in the pick season around here). The owners are splendid people, we felt at home. The restaurant is great, we recommend it! We stayed in the big Suite for 2...

Overall we had a nice stay. After reading numerous AMAZING reviews on trip advisor, we had higher expectations. Don't be confused if you can't find the hotel-the outside picture must have been photoshopped because it looks a bit different. Positives:clean room, breakfast, shared balcony, village, friendly man running hotel communicated to us in English and German the best he could....

My husband and I stayed here one night and found the room cozy, but slightly on the small side. The place was immaculate and dinner was delicious (peppercorn steak - juicy & tender with a zing to it!). The house wine was very good. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying. Location is handy to visiting hill towns of Istria.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kaštel Pansion & Restaurant is a 300 years old traditional Istrian house, built in the characteristic Mediterranean style, which blends wood and stone to great effect. It is situated in the centre of the village, very close to the church. The building has been renovated and restored, but the old stone walls and the wooden beams from the 18th century have been left, offering you a holiday in Kastel under the historic roof of an original Istrian house. ... more   less

“The double room is quite small but is connected to a "shared balcony". It essentially became a private balcony as the other two rooms have a shared balcony above. The double rooms bed was quite small/short and creaked every time you moved. There was also a weird sound coming from the windows that sounded like bugs chewing constantly. Even after mentioning it we do not know if it was every looked into.”
