Loved the experience. Amazon Location, fantastic view, great rooftop pool. Staff was friendly. We have been in Rovinj before and stayed at the Monte Mulini (same group). The Grand is much nicer now and if you like a pool this will be the better choice. But also if you like to swim in the ocean you can go to the Mulini beach club (200m) or use the boat transfer to the island (every 30 minutes, transfer takes 5 minutes). Had a great time and will be back.
Dear Grand Park Rovinj, the best place on the Adria, many thanks for the great hospitality in this crazy times. Many thanks that you took more then 1 month care of my family. Many thanks to Ivan the from office manager, to Miss Daril the most professional and lovely host I ever met. Many thanks to Andria, to Vanessa, to Dominik from the pool area. To Zoran and the lovely Macedonian guy on the terrace upstairs. Also many thanks to Iva from the reception. We are saying good buy best hotel on the Adria and we see each other soon. Take care and stay safe.
Not long returned from the GP hotel in Rovinj and I have to say that having been lucky enough to stay in top hotels throughout Europe this is the best. From the minute you arrive service is exemplary - not overbearing but hugely attentive and friendly. When we got to our room, we had a small issue with electric supply in room and within minutes the maintenance man arrived and sorted it. Breakfast was amazing – fantastic buffet with a lot of choice plus an a la carte menu which was superb. The Infinity pool overlooking the old town and sea was beautiful. The small Island opposite the hotel had a private beach for GP residents – 5 minute boat ride gets you there. Well worth taking this trip! The only 2 points I would point out was the dress code for the poor bar staff serving at the Infinity pool – long black (and I guess) very hot trousers. The girls looking after the sun beds wore skirts. I don’t understand why the bar staff were not allowed the same dress code. Final point, the hotel boat taking you back from the island has a very awkward, and in my opinion potentially dangerous first step down from jetty. My wife almost lost her balance and would have fallen face first had one of the boat staff not managed to hold her up. 2 small points, otherwise a fantastic holiday and I have already booked for next summer! …
We first stayed in old town Rovinj and could see the Grand Park Hotel in the distance but could not appreciate its beauty from afar. We checked into the Grand Park after 3 days in the old town, it was a completely different feeling. The vast open spaces in the hotel were peaceful and serene. Our room was pretty amazing; we booked a room with a private plunge pool, exactly what the doctor ordered after a long hot day walking in the old town. If you are visiting Rovinj the Grand Park Hotel is a must stay if you can afford it, it is worth the price.
We booked to stay at this hotel after watching then BBC programme Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby. I knew little about Istria and never heard of Rovinj until I saw this programme. The hotel is undeniably stunning but a few things made our stay not quite as amazing as it should have been. The fold out bed put in our room to accommodate our 14 year old daughter was not of a standard you would expect from a hotel like this. Knowing there are many very good quality fold away beds on the market,(we own one ourselves), we could have avoided several hours spent at the start of our stay liaising with housekeeping staff to add toppers to try to make the bed more comfortable. Despite best efforts from staff my daughter struggled to sleep comfortably and we added toppers, removed toppers and finally took the cushions from the fold away frame and placed them on the floor for her to sleep on. We found the hotel quite difficult to navigate. There are limited signposts and finding things like the roof top pool is not obvious. You have to walk through the spa and up the stairs. For the signs there are some are confusing, for example the elevator sign shows ‘garage and bicycles on 3rd floor’ when in fact they are on the 1st floor. The food we ate in the hotel was excellent, especially the breakfast, but we didn’t use hotel restaurants much as we struggled to understand the restaurants and the menus. These are written with stories and the translation to English doesn’t always explain what the dish actually is. The menus are also very difficult to read using the hotel app on an iPhone, with lots of blank pages to scroll through and faint pale grey text. Due to this we ate out in Rovinj, but we would have liked to eat at the hotel more. I cannot fault the staff at this hotel. They did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as they possibly could, answer our questions and show us to places when we got lost. On reflection we do feel we would have settled quicker if we had been offered a tour of the hotel, with some explanation about the facilities available and how things work around the hotel. At check in we were given the option to take ourselves to our room or be shown. We opted to be shown but ended up finding our own way to the room as no one approached us and we didn’t want to ask again. Despite the downsides I would still highly recommend this hotel and Rovinj.…
After COVID we wanted to have a special holiday, and this delivered in spades. This hotel is one of the best i have ever stayed in. The location is beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever encountered. I cannot fault the hotel at all, located a short walk from the town with views to die for. Only real downside is a lack of a sandy beach, but plenty of places to sunbathe. Not cheap but very good value for money.
Suppose we stayed here for more than 10 times :). Just wanted to say Hi to the whole hotels and their tremendous efforts. My family always likes to return and hope it will stay in that way. It is indeed a Grand Hotel.
Originally booked this hotel 2 years ago for a special occasion, but our stay was delayed due to the pandemic. It was worth the wait! We knew the location would be stunning having stayed at the original Park hotel, but the views from the common areas were even better than we anticipated. Rovinj is our favourite Croatian town. We were impressed by all the staff we met. Their friendly, smiling, helpful & unobtrusive service are a credit to the hotel.
We stayed here two nights and har a wonderful time. We will definitely come back and recommend the hotel to all our friends. But for the price we paid expected more: Breakfast: combination of buffet and ala carte meny The hotel could not meet our request for simple breakfast dishes. Small selection at the breakfast buffet for a 5 stars hotel. We sat both indoors and outdoors during the breakfasts we had. When we sat indoors there was a long wait for service. Few waiters indoors, took time before we got help. Room: Old hair in the shower, see photo. The trash was not taken out after cleaning. Pool: A lot of kids. Hard to get a sunbed if you come in afternoon. Sun loungers are reserved by towels from early in the morning The restaurant/pool: The staff was not forthcomming. The drinks was mostly just ice and where very simple.…
I have to say it was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed. It is very modern, clean, with a beautiful view across Rovinj, marina and islands. The service is impeccable and nothing is a problem. We loved infinity swimming pool and the beach which is about 100m from the hotel. I tried yoga in the spa garden which was very nice and relaxing, the feeling was like I was in a jungle (use mosquitos repellent). The view from a large comfortable room is stunning. We loved breakfast, everything was delicious, the choice was very wide, my daughter loved the pancakes. We used the hotel boat to get to a near island where Hotel Katarina is and spent half a day there. Thank you very much for an amazing holiday.
