This place is a crap, it's an old hotel that smells like sewage and has old dirty mattresses and even dirtier bed sheets. I've noticed that in Ecuador you can get a better room staying in the hostel rather than staying in so called "hotels" like La Fontana. The only good thing about this place is the location.

Right in the center of the city. Had trouble to climb high stairs with luggage. Asked for a room on the first floor but was ignored and sent to the third floor with no help bringing luggage up. Breakfast included.

I stayed in this hotel in 2010 and it was like the pictures. I booked the suite on the 2nd floor as a treat for my wife and I. The place is now worst than a cheap motel as the room smells like sewage and all the beautiful furnishings are gone. It would have been more romantic to sleep in...

This is a "good" hotel only for its central position. The staff was kind and helpful. Otherwise, there are many little things that will get you annoyed in the room because they either do not work or are somehow scary (Figure out the only electricity socket in the room has only the metal part hanging out from the wall, no...

Started off badly as the Hostal had over booked us and moved us to another Hosal which was not good in the slightest. However it did pick up as there was a English speaking person on the morning shift who gave us a lot of help and advise for the rest of the time in Ecuador. Room was ok but...

This isnt a horrible hotel but it certainly needs some improvements which i believe are in the process, however..... I recently stayed with a friend who is in her 60s. On arrival to the hotel, she was faced with two lots of reasonable steep stairs to climb with no rails to support. Then we were placed on the 3rd floor...

This is the first bad review I have written on there but I felt I needed to do it as this hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed. The place was falling apart and the room was a state. It looked nothing like it did in the pictures. Plus the breakfast isn't even worth getting out of bed...

Don´t get fooled by the pics. The suites are nice, but the AC don´t work properly and the service is terrible!!! I recently stayed with my husband and my daughter (2 years) and they ignored our reservation for suite 202. They said they will have it ready later in the day (we arrived on a Sat. morning) and took them...

We had a reservation for a triple room. We arrived and they told us that one of their employees had made a mistake so the room was not available, but that they would provide us 3 single rooms for that night. The next day I went downtown in the morning, and when I returned I realized that my stuff had...
