I made a reservation at the Murali Hostal via email about a month in advance, and received a confirmation. A couple of days prior to arrival I sent Murali Hostal another email just as a reminder, and got a confirmation again. On my arrival, they had my reservation in their book, but no room was available. If you read the...

We have enjoyed staying at the Murali Hostal near the Guayaquil airport several times. We have also had friends stay here with satisfactory results. HOWEVER, for the second time this year I had made a reservation by phone and upon arrival was told there was no room available. This last time we were shuttled to one of the owner's hostals...

Murali was our 'base camp' while we visited Ecuador for 12 days. When we were in Guayaquil the staff at Murali made us feel like we were at home. They graciously waited on us and although we could speak NO Spanish, we always were able to communicate. The location was very convenient to the airport and bus station which was...

We stayed at this hotel twice, when arriving and leaving Ecuador, and were pretty satisfied both times. Since we were traveling with our cat, we needed a place that was pet-friendly, and they were happy to accommodate us. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the AC worked great. The location is super-convenient to the airport, and they provide a...

At first we thought it was a bit pricy but it was worth every penny! We only stayed for one night to catch a flight the next morning. The hostel, which is more like a hotel, is perfectly located close to the airport. The room we stayed in was spacious, had air condition, bathroom and was really clean. The bed...

Thanks to the good advice and recommendation of one of the Airport information staff, i found Murali, it's located just a walking distance from there, unless you come full of luggage, you won't need a cab to get there, once there, it's a hostel with the comfort of a hotel, because I'm backpacking I always take the dorms, but they...

Murali Hostel blew away all my expectations. The staff were friendly, helpful and speak decent English. The driver they sent to the airport was very helpful and took us around to get snacks. He was very prompt to pick us up the next day to take us back to the airport as well. The room was one of the nicest...

Super hot and stuffy, and when I arrived they told me the place was booked out (even tho I had a reservation) and I could sleep on the couch in the reception for free if I wanted? Nice people, but doesn't make up for the lack of organization or the stifling heat in the rooms. Not the worst hostel I've...

I was recommended the Murali back in 2011... my arrival was pleasant and the room comfortable, from there it goes down hill. I was attending a tourist conference so was out all day. I arrived late that evening to find no on staff and an obviously drunk man lulling almost passed out on the sofa, being a woman traveling alone...
