We quite liked the Hacienda when we arrived on a Thursday night. Quiet, about 4 or 5 rooms occupied. Nice relaxing near the fireplace and a well organised welcome cocktail with live music. But when the weekend arrived and the hacienda filled up quickly, nothing was left of this quiet relaxing feel. And we realised that we are more into...

The Hacienda Pinsaqui is located in the heart of Equador's lake district and is ideally situated at the base of the Imbabura Volcano. It is situated just north of the world famous Otavalo market. The Hacienda retains the character and authenticity of the 1790's, making it a unique travel experience. The 200 year old grounds have ponds, palms, walks and...

Located 10 minutes drive from Otavalo, Pinsaqui is a lovely retreat. The restaurant was beautiful and the food delicious (especially the soups), and the staff very kind and accommodating, even when we had three sick children and needed lots of hand-holding! Rooms are quite large, and perfect for families. Wifi access in the central lounge was a nice touch.

Everything positive you may have read about this place is true. What luxury, originality, quirkiness and downright indulgence. Beautiful artwork, weavings, grounds and gardens, and a really lovely HUGE room with a fireplace...this was lit at night (very nippy here even in June late evening...) and a hot water bottle put in my bed....and a wonderful surprise of gorgeous horses...

We spent two nights here. It was part of our tour, so I had no idea that we would be staying in such a wonderful piece of history. Loved the grounds. The food and service was good. I kept feeling like I was in a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel. This is an older property, so be ready for a few...

This is a huge enormous old haciena on the outskirts of Otavalo. The room we had was immense (possibly 800 ft square) and decorated for the 18th century. The grounds are beatiful and well maintained and the restaurant is reasonable (nothing to write home about, and not excessively priced). The main building requires some significant renovations (the bath was old...

This is a large stately hacienda on a lovely property with ancient trees. Meals were good, enjoyed the band, great welcome drink. Fireplace was lit for us after dinner when we returned to our room with hot water bottles tucked into our beds. It gets cool here in the Andes - snow was on the higher elevations in the morning....

What a fabulous surprise to visit this wonderful property. Due to flight delays, we arrived on a bus after dark with our tour group and didn't have a chance to really appreciate the grounds upon arrival. We were delighted when we turned the key and walked into our large room beautifully decorated with authentic period furnishings. The room featured two...

What can I say - this is an amazing property - one of the most unique and wonderful that I have experienced throughout my travels. The hotel, the hallways, the rooms and the history of the place - they all come together. We travelled here with our sons (ages 12/14 at the time) - they had an amazing room where...

We did a day trip from Quito to the Indian Market in Octavalo that included lunch. We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely grounds, view, and food service here. 3 courses were included. Several of us orderd a shrimp avocado salad that was huge and wonderful. It was a meal in itself. I tried Lorca soup which uses their yellow...
