We just returned from another successful visit to La Luna Mountain Lodge. It's the perfect place for anyone looking for a laid back, cozy place to stay in the Mojanda-Otavalo region. Breakfasts are exceptional and hanging out in a hammock or by the fire is the perfect way to "get away" from the hectic lifestyles we so often tend to...

We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our Ecudorian tour after arriving from Peru. All I can say is that it is like a quiet oasis after the bustling cities. Pure bliss as you climb out of Otavalo among the patchwork rolling hills with incredible sweeping views of the countryside and mountains in the distance. Truly tranquility. The...

This place is just wonderful! We stayed for 1 night, and then made reservations for 2 additional nights. The views are amazing when it is clear. We saw 4 volcanoes from the guesthouse. The air is much better than in Otavalo where all vehicles are diesel. It was peaceful. We stayed in Verde room with the wood stove. Very comfortable,...

La Luna Hostal is a great place to escape a city's hectic atmosphere. The common room with a huge chimney is really cozy, they serve delicious food and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. There are four friendly dogs who top off the homey feeling. The Hostal is a little bit hard to find as it is located outside...

La Luna was simply brilliant. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the view and food sets this place apart from other hostels in the area. To wake up to views of the snow capped Andes was awesome while the meals in the evening were substantial for a very reasonable price. Enjoy the new hammocks too!!

Having read some of the reviews we were definitely not disappointed. We had rented a car at the airport and this made our journey easier although we arrived in the dark. What a beautiful rural location just outside Otavalo. Our room was clean and colourful. The staff were charming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and probably the best we...

My husband, daughter and I spent three wonderful nights at La Luna and I wasn't ready to leave. The setting is wonderful - yes, it's a short taxi drive to Otavalo but if you love nature, isn't that what you want? The mountain scenery is stunning, with a view of two volcanos and lovely rolling hills. I was very impressed...

We spent two wonderful nights at La Luna. We decided against staying in Otavalo and I'm so glad we did. Other than the market there's not much else to do in Otavalo. The lodge however is less than 10 minutes from the town but in a lovely and secluded place. There are many hours and walks to be done, some...

Camped in the grounds for several nights whilst visiting the region. Open fire and excellent food food most welcome after a day's hard trekking. The dogs, Freda and Lucy did a great job of keeping the other wild dogs away and kept our girls entertained for hours. Nice little snug with DVD player too - I can only apologise for...

First impression - it's a long way from town, but (if the weather lets you) the countryside views are nice. Two of the staff are really nice and helpful. The owners could have been a lot more hospitable, but chose to spend time ignoring guest and talking with friends. Room: Our room had a bit of mould on the paintwork...
