No van, no phone call, nothing. The company just left us hanging. This tour was planned two...

My sister and I arranged a day and a half camping trip into the White Desert through the Minamar Hotel this past May. Our tour guide was Mohamed Handy. The trip was wonderful, in large part because of Mohamed. He was professional, attentive to detail, spoke good English, was very willing to adapt the trip to our particular needs, and...

My husband and I stayed at the Minamar Hotel just one night on the way to our oasis tour. We found it nice because of it's location and the shape of the rooms. We booked a room and tour directly via the Minamar Hotel website. Filthy and bug-infested shabby rooms would be our first impressions after checking in. It as downhill after that. The place is scary bad. No TV, no hot water, and no electricity after 9 PM. The "lake location" offers little as far as scenery, and you are very far away...

“Hotels excellent as was the Nile Cruise. The overnight train from Cairo to Aswan was more basic so be prepared with anti bacs and your own food and drink. That said the hospitality of the man on the train was excellent and full of good humour and it was part of the whole experience To do it seeing so much in the morning travelling south by the Nile to Aswan”
