With precious little information to go on, we headed north from Chichicastenango in our rental car with hopes of reaching Chajul. We hiked over from nebaj on the Friday and went here for lunch, the cook Maria is amazing and they are all very welcoming we liked it so much that we came back on the Saturday and stayed two nights. We arrived here in the dark after a long day of driving and were immediately seated for a very generous and tasty meal. Getting here is hectic, to say the least. Our tour guide brought us here so don't even ask me how to get here. But oh boy, once you get here, immediately you get consumed by the beauty and tranquility of this working dairy farm with a hotel on its premises. This remote Hacienda is worth the trip. Some Guatemalans in the know travel all the way from the capital just to buy the cheese. I recommend this place as part of an extended tour of the beautiful Ixil Region. There are very few nice hotels in this area, and the Hacienda has them all beat. The rooms are simple but...
