Stayed for a week in the private rooms which are quite cozy. Fantastic people all around the hostel, mostly from Canada and the U.S. Location is a little out from the main touristy areas, although it only costs very little for a taxi ride into West End or Coxen Hole. All in all, I would definitely come back to the...

We originally only stayed 1 night but came back for a week! Mel was the most amazing host. She had loads of information on things to do and how to get around. We loved the pool and the atmosphere of the hostel was great. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

I haven't stayed here but a friend of mine is currently there and it is his birthday today. For the past few days the owner has been happy, willing and going out of her way to accommodate a request I sent her by email (I am in Australia). I'd asked if I could manage to get a birthday present to...

We stayed at Roatan Backpackers Hostel for a week in the private casita. We had a lovely time at the property, met friends from all over the world and got plenty of help and advice from Mel on navigating the island. The property was clean, well maintained and provided all the amenities we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Myself and my fiance booked in for an initial three nights here and had a double room in the hut at the back of the hostel. Very nice room, comfortable bed and private bathroom. The pool, communal areas are excellent and always tidy/clean, and Mel the owner is super friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful and kind. We loved it so...

I've been to hostels and hotels in Honduras and backpackers tops them all. It offers affordable prices and amazing location in roatan to either go to the beach in west bay or go visit dolphins, the roatan rum company and off course West end. Mel gave us useful tips to get around roatan and she had great contacts for either...

Stayed at Roatan Backpackers Hostel for a couple of nights and had a good time. The staff are friendly and it was nice hanging out in the common areas sharing stories with other guests. The hostel itself is located a bit away from West End which doesn't make it ideal if you want to live in the "center" since you...

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I agree, the internet problem we had while you were here was aggravating, but was a temporary provider problem, and we've now switched providers to a company that has more reliable service. The dorm room has a luggage storage section with ample room for everyone's packs (though sometimes people leave...

We only planned to spend a couple of nights with Mel at Roatan Backpackers, and ended up staying a week. The place has an amazing atmosphere, beautiful pool and clean rooms. Mel is a great help and will listen to your queries/concerns - she even made me a birthday cake which was very generous! The new addition of a restaurant...

It was a week in paradise! The private room was clean and came with a ceiling fan and private bathroom. There was a visitor in the form of a small lizard (newt) the first night, which was fun for me, but maybe a concern/consideration if you don't want to share your space with the occasional scaly friend (only saw one...
