TL;DR Staff/Food - 5/5 Bedroom - 4/5 Bathroom - 2/5 Services/Amenities - 2/5 Reservation: We had reserved two "Winter Green" rooms for four people for two nights, using Agoda. Since the hotel website said their Winter Green rooms came in two varieties - single King bed or two Twin beds - we made a special request for rooms with two Twin beds at the time of reservation. Check-In: At the time of check-in, late in the evening, we found we were assigned rooms with single King beds. When asked to switch to Twin bed rooms, the staff quickly obliged. But only one room was ready, so they had to rush to prepare the second room. I asked them not to rush with the preparation because I was afraid they'd skip things. The person at the reception assured me that the room was ready, only needed towels to be stocked. In any case, after a 10-15 min wait at the lobby, we got the room keys. Room Condition: Both our rooms were fairly clean and tidy. They were not very spacious, but not too small either. The bathroom setup though was the weirded I have ever come across. They were tiny, and included the vanity sink, shower, and toilet within the same tiny area with a flat floor. A shower curtain separated the vanity area from the toilet+shower. If you take a shower with the curtain closed, at least a quarter of the water would shower on to the toilet. Moreover, because of the flat floor, the water went everywhere! Even though the fixtures were all great, this is by far one of the messiest bathroom designs I have seen in a hotel. Amenities: This is where things go downhill. When we arrived at our room, the TV in my room did not have cable - it was asking for payment. We called the front desk who promptly sent a technician up. The technician could not figure it out and had to replace our set top box. This process took about 15-20 mins. There was no dinner menu in my room, so we just went to the restaurant on the ground floor for dinner. The next morning, at breakfast we found our the other room had a menu, and some complementary snacks items which my room was missing. We also noticed that the refrigerator in my room wasn't working because the Coke we left in there overnight was barely any cooler than the room temperature by next evening. I called the front desk and they told me the refrigerators do not really chill anything. Not sure why they were there in the first place. This was confirmed when we found the one in our second room didn't cool anything either. The second night, we did not have towels in our room, and had to call the front desk again. Neither of the rooms had the drinking water bottles refilled either. At dinner, we asked if we could take one of the similar looking refillable water bottles to the room, and were told we'd have to ask the front desk for it. So we asked the front desk to get us water (the refillable water bottles from the first night were gone altogether). When the water did not arrive 30 mins later, we had to call the front desk again for the water. We were all very tired from our day of driving sight seeing etc. and having to call the front desk so many times got really annoying. Staff: The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were extremely courteous throughout our stay. Very helpful, polite, and always present. Zero complaints and 100% appreciation on that front. They were also sincerely apologetic for all the stuff missing in the rooms. Food: We had two dinners - one buffet and one off the menu, and two complementary buffet breakfasts during our stay. The food was fresh, tasty, with sufficient items to choose from. Although the menu/buffet-spread had a wide selection, I personally, as a tourist, would liked to see more local Gujarati items.…
