I was lucky enough to stay at Bamboo Bay whilst travelling around Thailand and Malaysia. Having had enough of Bangkok we flew to Krabi for a night before getting the ferry across to Koh Lanta. What a welcome relief it was stepping off the ferry onto the rickety pier. Bamboo Bay kindly sent a truck to collect us. We were...

If you are looking for a relaxed and friendly place to stay that is away from the crush of the more touristy parts of the island, you will like this resort. The staff were really wonderful. They helped in every way, and especially when my daughter was ill. The accommodation was not fancy, but it had all the basics and...

If you are not very interested in the big resorts and tourist places, but still want to go to Koh Lanta, this is the place for you! The location in the very south of the Island is away from most tourists. It is quiet and not crowded in any way. Food is among the best I had in Thailand, and...

This is a lovely resort at the southern most end of Lanta Island. This resort is quiet, simple and shares a part of the beach that has very few people. The breakdown: - the customer services is incredible (they went out of their way for me) - the rooms are comfortable - washrooms are a bit shabby and are in...

I spend 9 days in this lovely place. The staff is very friendly and professinonell. The food was very good. The rooms are simple (more like the early times in thailand), but with AC and clean and a very very good bed!!!. The whole place is very individuel designed and lives very much by the kindness and sweet atmosphare the...

We stayed 6 nights, and enjoyed our stay very much. We had pre booked and payed for a Fan Room which was located up the very steep hill, after realising that each time we needed water, food & service we would have to walk the drive way, we upgraded to a room just above their fabric shop, with ac, it...

Reading the other reviews I agree with most comments. Bamboo bay is overpriced if you look at the rooms, but it is compensated by the friendly staff and super food and view! Jon please invest in furniture, room 7 has a splendid view but the bamboo furniture leaves dust because it is worn down! We had a small visitor in...

Very simple rooms (old furniture, really bad bathroom), without breakfasts, far from harbor, quite expensive, no fridge or safe in the room. Whole time of our visit we heard screaming of lizzards on our roof. BUT!!! Resort is placed in beautiful and peaceful part of island. Restaurant has one of the bests views of sea I have seen ever. Staff...

To the resort's defense they had just reopened from closing for the low season and we were their first guests for the new season. However, I think it is fair to expect great service when you are the only guests the staff has to worry about. We opted for a non-aircon room up the hill and if you choose one...

We found ourselves here because we wanted to get away from it all and we couldn't have found a nicer slice of paradise. If you're more suited to the hilton and the luxuries you'll find in your modern hotels then this probably isn't for you though I can't see how anybody could not fall in love with this place. Bamboo...
