You get what you pay for. I stayed here with 4 other friends in the biggest room they have and we all loved it. It's not a five star hotel but the price reflects that! The place looks great and it felt like we were staying in a tree house. Yes the bathroom is small but you can see that from the pictures and one would assume someone who is staying here would look at the pictures before hand. It is right on the beach next to the party's and was perfect for what we were after. Air con was really good as well which is, to me, one of the most important things and looking at the place you wouldn't have thought it has air con as it looks like a tree house! We didn't have to many dealings with the staff but they were nice and friendly.

Our first and second night on Phi Phi was spent in the boathouse, our room was the browe of the boat, We found the stairs to our room a bit steep but i suffer with arthritic hips and am 57 years old so to a youngster or 30 somethings this should not be a negative. All the staff were so helpful even helped us to find a hotel nearby as i had only booked the 2 nights and the hotel was full after our initial booking. Our dealings were all on line with Mel who could not have been more helpful and when we arrived we were met at the pier and our bags were carried to the hotel. great service. If you go here make sure you say hello to the Captain (A Tsunami survivor) who will regale you with wonderful stories and make your holiday special.

With proper directions, it is not difficult to find the boat house from the pier and you can have a little walk right through phi phi town to get to it. The boat house is right on the beach, but towards the rocky end. One can still have a swim though, if you navigate away from the rocks. The rooms are spacious but you have to climb a steep set of stairs to reach them. I felt though, that rooms, in particular the bathrooms could do with a good scrubbing especially as the shower area did not drain the water properly so water collected on the bathroom floor. So the down side is that one has to mop up after, which is not what you want to be doing when you are on holiday. Also, the rooms are not cleaned every day, one has to request for that. The food from the restaurant was delicious! Always fresh. The soups were amazing. The menu though, was limited. Could do with a bit more variety. The cocktails were on point. Served to perfection. The staff was super-friendly which is always a plus. Though ideally located and close to the shops and clubs, it is very noisy at night and if you don't intend to be clubbing every night, this is not a smart pick for your stay at phi phi. If you can deal with the noisy nights, and the little bathroom issue, go for it because the view in the morning at breakfast, is truly worth it.

Met at the pier by friendly staff who helped us with our luggage. Lovely stroll through the phi phi town and then we arrived to a warm helpful reception. Sunflower is quite unique as it’s a rustic boat treehouse type place. We were then taken to our room. Staff again carried our luggage up the rustic stairs to our amazing treehouse type room. Very spacious. Everything we needed was on hand. Amazing air con! Lots of tea coffee and a kettle. Bathroom was adequate for what you need. Toilet and shower and toiletries provided. The beds soooo comfortable. We just loved it. We had Tom Kha soup at the restaurant with an amazing view of the beach and sea. Sunflower is on the party side and yes it can be considered noisy but it didn’t effect our sleep and the whole thing just added to a great holiday atmosphere here so please don’t let it put you off. Would I come back here ? Most definitely! Thank you to Mel and ALL at Sunflower Boathouse for a great few days. Loved it.

Very rustic and interesting hotel, right on the beach but at the rocky end. PhiPhi is a party island and as such there is always several parties happening overnight on the beach. While you can hear it from the room we didn't find it all that bad and it certainly did not keep us or our kids from sleep. Our room had 2 aircon units but the building is not very well made so while they do work it wasn't as cool as you might expect. The room was large and we had no trouble fitting 2 adults and 2 kids with our own beds. The food in the restaurant was good and the prices also quite good.

We booked one night in this place. The photos looked amazing however the reality was very different. We booked a sea view room, which we didn’t get. Climbed some questionable looking stairs to find a dark dingy room. The room was disgusting, we got out the shower and would have to wipe our feet the floor was dirty. We booked via booking.com where we paid for the trip using the card details we have used for every other hotel this holiday. We had confirmation emails for the payment. 11pm we were sat in our room and heard a knock on the door where a member of staff had advised our card details had declined. Not a problem, we checked our banking apps to double check nothing had come out then paid in cash. As my partner then got back into bed after paying he received an email from the owner, which could be taken as quite rude “please update your card details IMMEDIATELY” and “please do the right thing and make sure you pay for your room”. Considering we had already paid the staff and they had the card details for two days by this point, we found this very rude and felt like we were being accused. Save your money and stay in another hotel. After this we found another hotel for the same price with a pool and our own bungalow just round the corner which could only be described as beautiful

The back story of this accommodation is tragic and very sad, look it up and it will have you in tears. The whole place is entirely made from reclaimed materials which is great. Online it seems like a dream hotel. Unfortunately in real life it’s dreadful. extremely low quality. The location is awful - very dirty & smelly. There’s building works going on all around and that coupled with the noise of the all night partying means no sleep!! The aircon was ineffective and after asking for it to be looked at it was fixed for a short time then returned to a high heating temperature. Rooms are only cleaned if you ask. Some of the rooms are up some very steep stairs. They don’t do breakfast. It’s expensive compared to some other top quality places on the island. We only stayed 2 nights but others in our party that had booked a week left early.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and loved it. The rooms were spacious, simple, clean and quirky. Something a little different to a lot of the same box style accommodation you get on the island. Located at the end of the beach (back beach not the pier side) so quiet enough but close enough to all the action. Great bar on the beach with discounted food and drink prices for guests, board games and pool table. Friendly staff and good food. Recommended!

Simple as that - don't expect to get more than you pay for. Stayed for 3 nights with 3 teenagers. A bit noisy during night time, but not that bad that earplugs could not do the job. Wifi worked well. Breakfast available at the neighbour. The bar at the hotel serves very good Thai food, and great drinks, staff very friendly. There is a pool table at the bar as well, too bad that only staff and owner are to use it. My 15 year old son waited for hours, asked now and then to join, but gave up after 3 hours..

My partner & I stayed here for 2nights. Really nice accommodation with very friendly & helpful staff. We had the queen room with sea view. It's a little more expensive than some others in phi phi however the location is ideal. Right on the beach and minutes from main area. Good air conditioning, don't turn on fan as they're very loud & seem unsteady. Toilet is clean, shower power is very weak & door wouldn't close properly.
