Forget about what you saw on the web and check pic attached.
I'm not pleased to give a low rate to this structure, but looking at the pictures and at the price I was expecting another standard.
Staff is very kind and friendly, garden is nice... that's it.
The structure is old and half closed, probably a very nice hotel 20 years ago, pool was under construction (btw this was written in a small "important note" at the bottom of the booking, after the all recap, after the advertisements ... This was very unprofessional and very close to a scam). AC in the room is working but has only 3 speed and no thermostat, room was clean at first but under the bed we foud lot of trash, no wondering why there was some animal (probably a mouse) running day and night in between the walls. Funny fact, you need to walk half of the room in the darkness before the light switcher. Bathroom gets probably the lower score, towel hanger was broken, dirty under the sink, shower had an old door that wasn't closing very well, the floor was with some tails and some concrete and the hot water well...the pool was warmer (no needed hot shower anyway).
When we talked to the receptionists the told us, very politely, that this is it and they could do nothing for us.
Breakfast is an average international buffet, not bad nor excellent.
Overall not bad but definitely overpriced.

We found it incredibly difficult to find a decent place to stay in phi phi, reviews of most of the hotels are so varied, some good and some bad.

We booked Hotel Cabana late as we read on a review of the previous hotel we had booked was very noisy due to the late night bars. Cabana was on the beach and further away from centre, but only a 2 minute walk from the pier.

Just bear in mind although it’s further away from the loud night bars, you can still hear some of the noise at night but not too much compared to the hotels closer to the main beach bars.

Firstly the view is beautiful if you have a pool beach view room (one of the selling points)

The view was beautiful from our room and the pool is lovely and big. Pool side was not too busy, you could sit and watch the boats pass in and out the bay.

However there were times we found it to be difficult communicating with the staff as they spoke very little English, but they were very friendly.

We had a deluxe double room. It was clean. The bed was a good size, but they only provided one pillow per person, although pillows were plump. Air con in the room is very good and didn’t leak. Good size balcony. The bathroom was usable but needs to be changed for a modern one, it would’ve been great 20 years ago.

The wifi was slow, once you locked your phone you had to then log in again which was inconvenient.

Breakfast is very basic really, not a massive range of food, omelettes were good though.

If you’re looking for a place with a nice view but nothing too luxury here is the place to stay. We agreed it was worth having a slightly less luxurious room to have the benefit of an amazing pool area with a great view of the bay.

I’ve stayed at Phi Phi Cabana about six times in the last 14 years and this was the weirdest stay by far. In the Covid downtime, they have done quite a bit of work on the pool, which now has been fully cleaned, and has some new tiling, i.e. neatened up from our last stay in 2017. However, there are still building materials all along the sea front, which makes things look decidedly scruffy. Lots of the hotel is currently shut down - presumably being renovated.

The pool bar used to have excellent service and do absolutely amazing Thai food. The menu has now become extremely limited with only very basic options, and the food isn’t that nice any more, forcing you to leave the hotel for lunch. The pool bar service is terrible at the moment and my wife almost got heat stroke because there were absolutely no staff to even purchase water from quite a bit of the time. Occasionally staff came around seeing if people wanted drinks – very infrequent. However, the service and food are unacceptable.

Breakfast was also not worth having - I remember it had previously been fairly reasonable.

While this hotel still has an excellent position, being next to the port, and far away from the disco’s along the beach, with probably the biggest pool, and best view in Phi Phi. I think that next time I travel to Phi Phi (and it will soon), I will be trying another alternative. There are at least 4 new hotels with more modern rooms and facilities in the last 5 years. Certainly this hotel cannot justify the price it is currently charging.

We arrived in phi phi and the hotel was fairly easy to locate as it's right by the ferry terminal, the only good thing is the location. Staff are rude, rooms are outdated like a dingy motel, hard beds and FULL of mosquitos. Food was dreadful, looked like it was cooked in a bath, I ordered food and it was not the right order so the owner I presume started eating it on the next table (least it never went to waste) went to see if we could get at least a refund for the 2nd night we booked and some advice, but staff were rude and laughing looking clueless, they phoned manager and I spoke on the phone with her and she was just laughing also & didn't want to know, just said call booking.com for a refund for the 2nd night as they couldnt refund the first one (understandably) we then went to stay at the harbour view, which we soon discovered that it was owned by the same owner as cabana just the newer version🤦🏻‍♀️ was alot better, but if we would of knew we would of just asked for a transfer to there 🤣 Stay clear of here, location is good though & backs right onto the beautiful beach.

We paid roughly £300 for 2 nights. It was not worth this amount. To give a few positives first, the room was generally of an OK cleanliness, the maids turned the room over lovely and made sure to leave towel art and petals on the bed both days, the view was amazing and the hotel staff were friendly. HOWEVER!!!!!!!! The bathroom was very dated and full of rust and mildew making it feel unclean. The water pressure in the shower was pathetic which when it’s so hot and humid outside isn’t great. The fridge had splatters of dirt on the inside and out and no mini bar service was on offer. The air con existed but wasn’t up to scratch. The biggest disappointment for us however was that we booked the hotel based on the photos of the pool area and on arrival we were told it was under construction (had no prior warning). Breakfast was I suppose edible, however lots of flies and ants around the service area and not lots of choice. Overall we are very upset we wasted so much money on this hotel (yes I understand we came in peak season but it is soooo not worth the cost).

Let's start with the three great possitves. The view by the pool and the price point (for phi phi) is reasonable.

HOWEVER, the hotel is shambolically ran.
The worst part being that without any notice, boat tours arrive for 'lunch' where 100+ passengers decend on 6 speed boats and used the pool. Their very arrogant tour operator takes photos in front of your sunbed, without any regard to the paying guests, and abused us when we challenged him.

The pool area is dirty, litter is rarely cleaned, or glasses taken away. The rooms are very dated with poor air conditioning. The breakfast is barely edible, a hard boil egg is uncooked and bread stale.

The noise from the late night bars (which continue until 3am) on the beach can make sleeping difficult, admittedly not a fault of the hotel.

The staff (expect one of the managers) do not seem to care and are extremely slow.

You could potentially stay a couple of nights, if you can cope with the above, but it's not a good hotel for a relaxing stay.

What can I say more that this hotel has a great location , great pool , nice rooms and very service minded staff. I can’t understand why it has gotten low rating lately.

The staff was more then helpful for all our requests

Recommend for families , friends traveling together and honeymooners

This hotel is ideal for short stays and to take advantage of its central location on the island. In fact, it is only a 2-minute walk from the port.
The rooms are a little outdated, as is the entire hotel. In general, it is a bit shabby, but for 1 or 2 nights it can be manageable.
At night the area is quite noisy as there is a disco on the beach and the noise echoes.
It has a large pool and sunbeds with a sea view and the breakfast buffet is good.
The staff is not very attentive and unprofessional. There are many aspects that could be improved.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend it because, compared to other hotels I visited in Thailand, I didn't get on well.

We were greeted warmly at the reception & got a beautiful pool facing Room with the backdrop of the Sea. The pier is barely 5mins walk and the Hotel had sent a cart with the man holding our placard. The Room was spacious for 3 Pax & was totally comfortable. The location of this Hotel is prime and the food joints & market streets are all walking distance. The breakfast spread is good enough to start your day with… Relax in the pool or just across the pier to take a private tour in the Long Tail Boats. This a must do if you are staying in this Island.
You will be surprised to watch the fire shows, music & dance at the beach Parties.

This Island has some lovely restaurants with delicious local cuisine and a wide spread platter for Sea Food lovers. Chill with the “Chang Beer” and interesting Cocktails.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a memorable time….Our room commanded a picturesque view!! We will definitely be back here.
Only improvement required to be done by the Hotel Management is to renovate the bathrooms & fittings as these are dated.

Old, unrestored hotel. The rooms were dirty and the bathroom was especially old and filled with mosquitoes. There were eggshells in the omelettes for breakfast and the rest of the breakfast was approximately. The worst thing is that they let tourists “visit” the pool for a lot of time during the day. They sounded and disturbed wildly. Never experienced anything like this and will definitely not come back here. The view and location is the only good thing about the hotel, which is just used as a big cash tank.

You don’t have to walk far - you can hear and enjoy the nightlife party in your room with the doors closed. It’s a very clean and crisp base all the way to you bed. All evening. All night. Until 03.00 in the morning. Enjoy :)

Hi, I was there on april 2016. didn't see any renovated rooms, we had some problems with the air condition in 2 rooms and be careful cornered rooms have big windows, that means a lot of sun on the windows and very hot rooms. we were on the second floor in the main building, we had the view to the pool and the beach, it was amazing.

I had the same fear from the reviews but we went ahead and stayed and I'm glad we did. it was 3 years ago now though. It was old fashioned but grand for what you need and the location is perfect.
