Detailed Reviews
Lovely rustic timber cabins on the beach or slightly off the beach. Doesn’t suffer from the day tripper parade of other beaches and is quite isolated, which can have its benefits. It does however offer a full range of half and day boat trips to other sights and islands. The walk to the Viewpoint on the hill above is fantastic overlooking the isthmus linking the two parts of Phi Phi. Snorkeling off the beach is fun, the water being super clean. There are two masseuse working all day 400bht/hour.
Restaurant food runs all day, is reasonable, varied and the wine was surprisingly good. Fruit, vegetables and fish are all fresh.

We had mixed experience here in the resort. The food is not very good, the chef can make good fried rice and good rice soup but Tom Yam soup is not even close to the original plus they have many types of Tom Yam. Stuff was impolite in the beginning and became better after we complained.
The rooms are good, rustic. I like the bed with mosquito net and the open shower. The shower is cold but outside is warm.
The boat trips are great, we saw a lot of fishes, we swam with them and we even saw sharks which are very safe and beautiful. The boat sailors are very kind and polite.
For the service received it was expensive but we manage to enjoy.
The guys are much more polite and cheerful than the ladies, I am not sure why.

We staid for 3 nights in one of the beach bungalows right on the beach with our 2 kids (3y and 5y).
The room looked very nice, with a large balcony and good beds with mosquito nets. After our long travel from Belgium this was a great place to rest.
No hot water in the bathroom, but we did not miss it.
The beach is beautiful. Large trees are providing enough shade for the children to play under, beach toys are available free of charge, great place to swim and snorkel. Bring water shoes.
Rented a kano (very cheap) and went kanooing with the kids.
Great food in the restaurant, we loved it. Staff was very friendly.
How to get there?
The hotel arranged the transfer for us, but you can easily do it yourself: taxi pick-up from the airport (1h) to Rassada Pier. There you can buy a ticket for a ferry to Phi Phi (1,25h). We used Phi Phi Cruiser to go (more seats so we better for kids) and Andaman Wave Master to return (little good seats so paid for an upgrade so we could sit). Arrived in Phi Phi you will find someone with a sign for the relax beach longtail taxi boat (45min).

We are currently staying at the resort and writing from there. We booked 3 nights and this is our second night now and looking forward to go back to Phuket.
Positive points:
1) beautiful beach but not the best sand
2) we discovered new fish while snorkeling (they rent mask for 50 Thai baht per day up to 6pm)
3) nice bungalow with sea view and not cold or warm during the night (no AC needed for us as nights are very chill)
4) they propose some half day or full day tour from the resort
Negative points:
1) food at the only restaurant of the resort is terrible with only few nice dishes (we are vegan and managed to make things vegan but in terms of nutrition you will definitely lack of nutrients)
Fruits in Asia are amazingly delicious but somehow this resort managed to give us fruits that taste like the one we have in Europe...
2) staffs are very rude and don’t want to bother helping you or accommodating. They don’t know how to smile and anger and annoyance come out from their energy. Only one guy in the staff was very friendly, positive and warm.
3) if you expect to have a warm welcome, don’t stay at this resort
4) isolated from everything and if you want to leave the resort that consist of only one restaurant and a tiny beach, you have to pay 150 Thai baht per person one way and it’s only at certain time so you don’t go and come back anytime you want.
5) our bathroom was “outdoor” with walls and open on the top. I’m a very attractive pray for mosquitoes which is not practical when bathroom is open as I get bite by mosquitoes when I go to toilet unless I have repellent on me 24/7 or dress fully top to bottom all the time.
6) no hot water in bathroom but it doesn’t bother me as I’m used to cold water
To summarize, I will never come back here. Service in Thailand is normally wonderful mostly everywhere but here is definitely the worst ever experienced in the entire Asia continent.
For the price, go to another resort!

I even don’t know where to start. First of all, this accommodation is one od the cheapest on the Island, but the thing is that 126,00 € per night for 2 guests Is very expensive for this kind of resort ( I’d we can call this a resort ). Since I work in Travel agency and I was on side inspection I will tell you NOT TO BOOK. The resort theme is awesome, deserted Island vibe, beautiful private beach, good food but cottages aren’t awesome. The thing is that everything is kind of dirty, a lot of spider webs that haven’t been cleaned for months probably, a lot of holes in the cottage ( be aware of cockroaches Because we had one in the Room and the staff Said that they are harmful, yeah right, I dont know in which Universe ). Do not leave any personal stuff in the porch, every morning we woke up there were a lot of animal poop. If you are a girl and trying to Wish your hair - good luck with that. The water pressure was so low that you can bearly shower. Also, you are not allowed to flash paper in the toilet so after number 2 you need to put the dirty paper in the bin. I can say that the staff at the restaurant is polite, they are actually the only ones who smiles at you. Communication is very bad since they dont spek good english. To be clear, I didn’t expect someone who speaks perfectly english, but I expected some basics. Frogs, bats, mosquitos That’s fine from my side, after all you are in the jungle, but the cockroaches and these holes in the cottage are big no from me.

Absolute dump masquerading as a “rural paradise”
Love bluebottle flies and cockroaches? Then you’ll love this place.
Love paying 10x more for a filthy, rickety and very uncomfortable bungalow than you’d pay in general?
Again, you’ll love this place..
You’re pretty much stuck there and they can charge whatever they like (and add on whatever else they like) and it’s tough - where else are you going to eat?
Breakfast is covered in flies and very stingy.
The stairs coming from the bungalows are absolutely lethal and very very poorly lit (which is maybe a good thing as that way you can’t see the cockroaches scuttling around)
This place could be so wonderful but it’s not. It’s a bungalow you could pay £10 for elsewhere and you wouldn’t break your neck on steps and get a side order of bugs with your dinner.

I don't recommend you. We arrived without a reservation and the “manager” offered us a higher price than on the internet because you should know that you are in some way blocked when coming to this side of the island. After several exchanges with this unfriendly gentleman we had a room very far away while those closer to water were available regardless. He doesn't give towels for the beach but didn't tell us so we had to insist on having other towels. And above all, cleaning is a CATASTROPHE!!!! Sand in the bed not on the bed but in the bed on the sheets. Cleaning day sheet thrown on the bed so we ask the manager to bring in the person for cleaning, big headache with him he spoke badly to us and made a hand sign for us to be quiet... the person to do it ate, hit the sheet to remove the sand, folded the sheet and left.
Otherwise the restaurant and massage staff are adorable.
Lots of potential but not at all highlighted and the manager should learn politeness

The most isolated and naturally beautiful resort I’ve stayed. It’s Only accessible on foot or taxi boat.
Organise your transfer with the hotel as its only 350bht pp, we didn’t and it was double that.
All bungalows have views of the sea, Wi-Fi , showers and flushing toilets which is amazing due to its isolation.
The food and drinks were tasty and good value. All of the the staff were excellent and friendly.
Special mention to Yodchai who was our barman He was very friendly and a very nice helpful guy and the lady in charge who was caring enough to put balm on my friends skin condition without request, she was a very nice lady.
Will 100% stay again.

2nd stay at Phi Phi Relax after a first time in 2017.
We booked 2 beach bungalows (both to be close to the sea and above all to avoid the very steep climb for the hill bungalows).
Note that we had requested an additional bed for the 2nd bungalow, and it was a real bed with a mosquito net that was added, very good installation.
For the rest, the resort has improved: there is hot water in the bungalows now, and electricity all day. No problem with wifi for our part. Currently there is renovation work on some bungalows, it can make a little noise.
Otherwise, nothing has changed: still just as heavenly on a magnificent beach, where you can snorkel 5 meters from the water's edge with hundreds of fish of all colors, birds, but no monkeys this year , nor monitor lizards (maybe the works...).
The restaurant is good (including breakfast), the cocktails too, the service is equal to what we had experienced... quite uneven so :-). Luggage is transferred with great efficiency from the long tail to the bungalows and in reverse too.
Our two bungalows were side by side, quite close to each other, with a beautiful terrace and room to stretch out your feet towards the sea! No safe in the rooms, but a large padlock to close the door. There are very practical mats for going to the beach.
Phi Phi Relax is the ideal place if you want to avoid Tonsai and live a bit like Robinson, isolated on its beach, with the forest all around. You can go on beautiful excursions and hikes there... or just relax. There are certainly Long Tails passing by... we are in Thailand, it is the local means of transport (in fact, it is the one we use to get there). We were there in low season, perhaps it is more difficult in high season. The price is a little high for the service which is quite basic, but the place is unique and magical, and it is really an ideal place to spend 1 to 2 nights in Phi Phi in the middle of a road trip in Thailand. We were very happy to go back.

You don’t have to live like a saint and die to get to paradise.
I’ll write this review in English specially for the wonderful staff of Phi Phi Relax resort.
Only a short fare with a longtailboat from Tonsay Pier takes you to heaven. A beautiful, quiet and private resort with affordable and beautifully decorated cocktails (all TBH 200,-) a private beach, freshly prepared food (Pad Thai only TBH 150,-) and romantic bungalows right at the shore.
We were on honeymoon with our toddler (1,5 y.o) and the staff took care of her during dinner and other occasions and overloaded her with love and attention. During rainseason the prices are more than affordable and we had a beautiful, clean and romantic bungalow only a few meters from the private beach.
We enjoyed free yoga classes in the morning by (almost) resident Sabine from the Netherlands, played soccer with the staff (everyday at 17.00 sharp) and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this relaxing and stunnigly beautiful place.
Walking to viewpoint and decend to the village is a must see. Wild monkeys, all kinds of tropical butterflies and mango an cashewtrees make this trip worth the steep climb. This is a one to one and half hour walk. Afterwards, don’t forget to reward yourself with a little shopping in this pittoresque village.
All in all, this place deserves more than five stars, with an extra star for the location. By far the most beautiful place in Thailand I have ever seen. As we speak, Phi Phi Relax is upgrading the bungalows and executing a thorough renovation in the left side of the resort. This is the kind of secret place you want to keep for yourself, but these people work so hard for their guests, that the least I can do is praise them with a well earned and honest review. We will be back soon. All the love from Marten, Sarah and Pip❤️ And the photos that Erik Schreur posted are misleading, because this is not the resort but the houses of sea nomads that are the original inhabitants of the island. Very sad that people can post this kind of crap.
