In a good location, easy access from the pier and close to the main area and beaches. Very basic guesthouse, room was spacious and although it was clean it was very worn. Good air con. Strong smell of air fresheners due to mosquitos. Large amounts of limescale in the bathroom which felt grubby, holes in the ceiling and near the air vent. Bed was large and comfortable and the room had a good view. For the money we paid it (£280 for 4 nights during early December) was acceptable, there are better places to stay but expect to pay more. Yours truly Donald Holiday
I have visited Phi Phi before and I am fully aware that "it's an island in the middle of the ocean and lower your expectations." However, for the 110$ a night we paid to stay here, the bathroom was completely unacceptable. I live in Korea where we have our own sewer smell in the street, squatty potty, all that jazz. I've traveled all around Asia as well. Simply, for the price point, the bathroom was the sole reason for two stars. It was drafty, stinky, cold, and barren. The shower head and walls were COVERED in some sort of limestone, hard water gunk. The sink had its own smells coming out of it. I tried to stay out of there as much as possible. Location - great. Right in the middle of things, very quiet. Staff - very friendly, Bed - actually comfy. Also - NO SAFE in the room.…
We stayed at pp tonsai place for 2 days. Hotel was good. They have provided quite good services. Food was not included in package. At time of booking i have tried to get mail id of resort but didn't get it. Mail id for communication always good for record. They have not mentioned it anywhere. In resort i got mail id. Please find details for communication. They will allow early check in also. Good experience. As compared to other properties on phi phi island , pp tonsai place is good for choice. Very less distance from pier and beach also.
We hit a slight stumbling block on check in. Booking.com said they would take payment 7 days prior to our stay but in actual fact they didn't so the lady asked for payment on arrival and as I didn't have cash she added a fee for card payment. The room we requested also wasn't available but she said we could have it the following morning and all our stuff was moved by the maids which was nice. However, once we were moved the room was absolutely amazing, huge bed, great bathroom, good TV and a balcony with some of the best views ever. It's also a great location, close to the pier and the beach. If i go back I will definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
This is a really nice hotel, likely among the best in Phi Phi that is not an expensive resort. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn’t have some of those resort amenities, like a pool, restaurant/bar and water sports. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything, but not too close to the loud music from the clubs. Use Google maps your first time going, as it’s tucked back in a little side street right near the little food market. The rooms are very nice - I actually couldn’t believe how nice the first time I walked in. They have all the little things a good hotel would have, like a safe, air conditioning, a fridge, etc. The wi-fi works great and you even have a balcony and TV. The toilet is right next to the shower and you must get comfortable using the hose and no toilet paper...but you are in Thailand and you’ll get used to it. Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I loved this hotel and would stay here forever if I could!…
Firstly I thought Phi Phi was so beautiful and found this to be my favourite Island I visited in Thailand. The hotel itself was lovely. We when arrived we were upgraded no extra costs. The staff are really friendly and nice. There are excursions you can book on from the hotel, however booked any has we had planned our own. The room is nice and decorated lovely. The bed was huge and sooo comfy. The view is stunning and the beach is literally 2 mins from here. The hotel is near to clubs so at night when on the balcony you can here music but when doors are closed I didn’t hear anything. Really enjoyed my stay and would happily stay again. Great value for money. Plenty of bar, restaurant and excursions near by.
Big NO to stay here (I was with my family and kid), their male staff started knowing our room in mid night (2 AM) when he was over-drunk , next day when we informed the same to concern manager they were not ready to accept and even not ready to show CCTV footage. Its really very pathetic and rude behavior by them unprofessional people. its is not safe to stay at this place
There’s a lot to love about PP Tonsai Place. The staff are friendly, the rooms are quite large, the view (we got upgraded to a sea view) was lovely. They arranged a meet and greet at the pier and carried our bags to the hotel. Free water awaited us (again, much welcomed). I suppose where this place loses the 5th point for me is that we can imagine it used to be a beautiful/fresh/lavish build, but time and neglect has seen the decor/fittings etc become tatty, cracked etc. Did this ruin our stay, definitely not. We’d stay here again!
Loved this hotel! Staff and receptionist were so nice and helpful. We paid a little extra for sea view room and would definitely recommend it’s absolutely beautiful. The room is nice and spacious and the bed is extremely comfortable. The balcony is also very spacious. The only thing I would say they need to work on is the bathroom. It’s very dated and we didn’t have very hot water for our showers. The location is great only a few steps away from the pier, beach and the popular restaurants and bars. Quiet area considering what goes on at night. Was sad to leave this hotel.
Nice hotel. The check in lady was very helpful and friendly. Our room was nice, no problems there. Had a nice view of the surrounding cliffs and town from our balcony. The property is located in town, easy walking distance to everything and far enough away from the huge party places like Ibiza and Princess that could potentially keep you up all night with their music so loud. The check in lady watched our luggage the last day after checkout so that we could go to long beach in the morning and catch the ferry back in the afternoon. Would stay here again!
