Stayed for 3 nights in November and enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended and deserved the No.1 rating. Very polite, friendly and helpful staff in reception and breakfast room. Very pleasant to talk with, to make request... I felt like home. Breakfast is in a cutely decorated room. Wide variety of local breakfast options, tea and coffee, fruits, bread, pancakes,... More

I can not praise the staff at Amelia Hotel enough. They were always welcoming with a friendly smile and a genuine interest in how we were enjoying our day. One time we are5ived back during the afternoon and the two managers were not around, we were not looking for them but I was passed a phone for one of their... More

Hands down our best stay in Uzbekistan. The hotel and rooms were quite lovely, however it was the service that was so special. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful - we felt so welcome. They helped sort out our last minute transportation and even negotiated an extra detour to visit a qala. The complimentary tea and snacks in our room... More

Great room, very friendly and helpful staff and a superb breakfast. Nice & quiet, set back from the street and 5 minutes walk from the centre of the old town. What more is there to say, fully deserves its rating.

Just 5 min (walk) from Lyabi Hauz..... excellent hotel, such a beautiful property, an 18th century jewish merchant's mansion converted now to Hotel Amelia. The rooms are elaborately decorated, the breakfast in the old historic dining room a treat and the staff, particularly Khodir, excellent. This is the only hotel that I stayed in Uzbekistan that had excellent wifi.....quick, fast... More

This was the highlight of all the hotels we stayed at in Uzbekistan - and we had 5 nights at the Amelia. The tireless Kodir on reception never lost his smile or his willingness to provide tea or organise a taxi here and there for us. We stayed in the Silk Room which was sunny and quiet, lovely details e.g.... More

I can't praise this hotel highly enough. It is well located near to the attractions of Bukhara and is situated in a charming old merchants house. The rooms are lovely, all decorated in individual style, good comfortable beds, good bathroom, and all very clean. The staff are exceptional, particularly the young man who seemed to work a 24 hour day,... More

Amelia Hotel is a very welcoming and inviting hotel. It is a Boutique-hotel in its style, situated in a former family-house in the old city, offering spacious and beautifully decorated rooms around a spacious central courtyard. The staff is very polite, efficient and compliant with the needs of the guests, a virtue that made our stay in this hotel most... More

Hand-painted decor on the walls and ceiling added immensely to the charm of this small hotel. The young man working the front desk (and waiting table at breakfast) was almost clairvoyant in his dealings with out 12-person group -- knowing whose laundry belonged to whom within a few hours of our arrival; warm, friendly, English-speaking and highly competent. He was... More
