Living in a city with light pollution does not prepare you for the experience of the desert sky at night. Looking at the stars and riding in jeeps over sand dunes were unmissable experiences. Yes the facilities are basic, but the hospitality of the staff and the amazing dinner and entertainment more than make up for a minor inconvenience. Just...

Not for everyone. This is a Beduin camping experience. Smokey fires, great Beduin food, hot tea, camel journey through the desert were all part of the adventure. Our group of ten stayed two nights. Couples shared a tent with two cots. Multiple blankets kept you sort of warm in the chill February evenings. Toilets were primitive, but had showers and...

The ride in the sand dunes in the SUV's through the valley was an absolute riot. Climbing the dunes gave us a great viewing vantage point. Stopped for tea with mint in the desert also to see the house of T E Lawerence (Lawrence of Arabia) and the monument of the Seven Pillars. You must realize the the Rainbow camp...

Wadi Rum is Lawrence of Arabia country and the environment is truly breathtaking. However if you stay overnight at this camp in winter, beware. You will sleep in canvas tents with no heating and precious little lighting and although they provide lots of blankets the whole experience is absolutely perishing. Sitting round a small and very smoky wood fire in...

Loved the remote desert location. Friendly and helpful hosts. Climbing, camel rides, 4x4 adventures, sand dunes Shower and toilet facilities were a bit primitive, but sufficient. Plenty of food, comfortable single beds in canvas huts, but I slept more under the 1000 stars.

The experience of the desert was fabulous. Rainbow Camp is extremely well run. Just remembers its camping and not a 5 star hotel. There are the basics (but I have done extreme basic and this was better than I had anticipated). The food was excellent. The Bedouin people certainly know how to look after you. Nothing is too much trouble....

I stayed 2 nights, in the Rainbow Camp, it's an amazing experience, the landscapes are absolutely unbelievable. The hospitality of Mubarak, and all his team is more professional than certain hotels says standart. The food is perfect, solar lights in the tents, hot water in the common bathrooms. Stay minimum of 2/3 nights to discover all the mysteries of Wadi...

Stayed here for 1 night. Arrived in the evening just before sunset and left the next morning after breakfast. Our tour guide mentioned that the desert gets very hot during the day and hence staying here day time was not recommended. The tents are basic with twin beds with cots. 2 blankets are provided as it gets quite cold in...

Suleiman and his camp made an amazing impression on me. We stayed in the camp for two nights. We were left alone to to what we wanted but also able to join the locals for a great evening where we listened to live traditional music, and amazing meals including the true Bedouin style, cooking the meat (goat) under the ground....
