I needed an evening away form KL to celebrate my partner's b'day and I decided to go to PD, since it's just an hour drive from KL. After searching the internet for a while, I stumble upon this hotel and was skeptical at first since it didn't have a beach front. I went ahead with the online booking and we both ended up pleasantly surprised. We find the place to be more than what we have initially expected in many ways. We took the Straits Studio Room which comes with a king size bed and sea view. We were very happy with the room, cause there were spacious, clean, and the view is just GREAT! Chanced upon this hotel while reading blogs and searching for a nearby beach to hang for a weekend. Seeing that this is relatively new and unknown, the prices were quite reasonable for a public holiday weekend (National day) ie. RM320 for a studio/suite as compared to smaller chalets elsewhere amounting up to RM500++. Booked 2 nights. There was no map in their website, called and they faxed a handdrawn version of sorts. The map wasn't good enough, got lost after the tolls. Their unit was neat and new looking (modern feel), but had some problems here there eg. non-working tap, stained quilt cover, cracks, etc..Housekeeping and maintenance requires more attention to detail.
