This is part of the Costa Rica apartments. I stayed at the hotel. It was a terrible experience. The staff were unhelpful. The hotel is rundown. The elevator did not always work. When I had laundry done, I had to keep contacting the reception to find it after it was overdue to get it back. Eventually I found it. The view towards the ocean overlooks ships loading palm oil - interesting if you like ships but otherwise not a sight for a holiday or business meeting. The hotel is not easily accessible to shopping or eating places. The hotel meal options are basic. The hotel needs a large injection of cash to completely remodel it before I would consider staying here again.

Me, my mum, my aunt & her family decided to check into this hotel. But unfortunately we checked-out even before we checked into our rooms.(A first in our family's history) They had no children's activities or any activities other than bowling. The eatery has mosquitoes and flies. We then decided to stay at Avillion Port Dickson which is waaaaaaaaay better than here. Don't bother staying here.I stayed there circa post 1990s early 2000s.

Booked a 1 nighter with my wife while running some errands in Port Dickson. The hotel has been rebranded some time ago from Le Paris to the current name, Legacy Hotel. Fancy name, I thought to myself. There was some anticipation building up in the air.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a hotel with a mildly shabby exterior which poorly mask its aged appearance. The lobby was bright and airy but then it was downhill from then on. Check in was drastically slow & without warmth.

Anyhow, we got our keycard and hopped into an elevator which was no faster than a crippled tortoise. What was supposed to be a brief ride up to the 8th floor seemed to have taken forever. Perhaps the management wanted the guests to take a moment to savour the uniquely broken & cracked floor tiles.

The room we paid for was a deluxe room with seaview but what we ended up with was anything but deluxe. It was horribly old, shabby, dirty & downright painful to the eyes. The furniture has well overstayed its welcome while the fittings were mere dangling museum pieces & even the toilet seat came undone. Adding to the list, we had a sink that was leaking, unpainted plaster on the walls, watermarks & stains every where, water kettle filled with ants, noisy aircond & one of the most uncomfortable knock off deal mattress I have ever slept on. The hotel could not even get the centralized water heater to function during our stay despite alerting the front desk about the issue.

Having endured a disastrous night, we had breakfast the next morning before checking out. We both wished we hadn't done that.... my wife's nasi lemak was atrocious while my American breakfast consists of a pair of the cheapest sausage money can buy, a pair of sunny side up & some canned baked beans. To top off our breakfast experience, we were given a choice of watered down local coffee or diluted orange cordial.

This hotel does not deserve any stars for the negligence in almost every aspect, so please avoid!

Stayed there 1 night only on 15th Mar 2014 coz a family member had a wedding and the house is just across the street.

Ok the building is really run down. AC cannot be felt on the corridors. Rooms were clean but worn out and needs refurbishing badly.

I prefer to focus on the plus side though.
Staff were friendly. Breakfast was really basic but it is reflective of what you paid for.
The pool was nice.

If you just need a place to sleep this place is fine. You can tell they are probably trying to run this hotel with a very tight budget.

At least they have a running hot water (check my review on Swiss Garden, Kuantan).

If you are on a budget and just need a place to sleep a pool and no fancy breakfast spread...Go For It.

If you want a hotel/resort with its full service fancy fittings, lots of activities...this is NOT for you.

You may confuse the name of the hotel, Le Paris is named for hotel, Costa-Rica is named for service apartment. But it is nothing related with any international hotel chain group and it own by the same owner.
The hotel is managed by a local private company and the owner is having the typical profit oriental thinking, the hotel is making profit but all has been transfer to his own business.
I used to work in this hotel 6 years ago, and I know it is no changes till now.
The staff is friendly and really put a lot of effort to maintain the service level, because we all know the reputation is bad. However, the owner doesn’t care whereas the staffs care.
The hotel is old, and lack of maintenance, many areas needs to be changed and repaired. Reason being is lack of fund.
The room is big enough if you compare with others, furthermore you are paying the cheap price! You don’t need to choose Executive room, just normal sea view room. You will enjoy the sea view; you don’t need to go anywhere, just sit on the balcony and watch the beautiful sunset. The furniture may be old, but they time to time will vanish it.
The beach is public, but is fewer outsiders known, you could be feeling private on this. Well, it is not the beautiful beach in PD.
The location is closed to downtown and bus station, is good for bag backer, it can easily reach by public bus and all the needs are within the walking distance.
Nevertheless, the hotel has been taken over by another company (the latest news I had), hope it can keep well and having a bright future.

When you walk into the entrance of Le Paris, everything looks good. Then, the nightmare begins.

The car-park for guests is insufficient and narrow. Besides, it stinks! For such a large resort, the carpark lot is pathetic.

One of the elevators don't really work. It doesn't get you to the ninth floor! If you decide the stay at the apartments, it's worse. The buttons for the elevators don't work at all! Then the elevator doors are all rusting - looks like they've been machine-gunned by dissatisfied guests. All the interiors of elevators are vandalised.

The apartments are spacious but not well-kept. Mattresses are stained and there were no hangers in the wardrobe. When I first checked in, the apartment given was horrible, the bathroom flooded and the air-con didn't work. So I lodged a complaint with the counter staff at the lobby. They refused to change the apartment and insisted in repairing the irreparable. I had to complain to a higher up before the apartment was changed.

The restaurant looks appealing at first blush. But when the crowd comes in at lunch or dinner, food in not replenished fast enough and finally, there is no food! The waiters operate like they're at working at a coffee-shop. Al the leftovers on the tables are just wiped brusquely onto the floor!

Wi-fi is pathetic - just available at the lobby and on the second floor.

I wouldn't visit this resort again!

Stayed for 1 night at the apartment with 3 bedrooms. The hotel and apartment seems so big when we arrive but that's about it. It was probably a great place a few yrs ago but has clearly gone down from there. The lifts was scary, shuts suddenly and always stops at level 1. We made a theory that it may have an 'invisible' visitor at level 1, haha. The pool is not bad but it clearly lacks maintenance as we can see greenish layer at the bottom. The beach is okay but for those whom are fussy, you may want to stray away as some claimed that the water's slightly oily as the big tankers/ships stops nearby (i actually didn't see that though). We had fun flying kites at the beach, it is not crowded and you get the whole sandy beach for yourself. Breakfast is a big disappointment, selection was limited and it was tasteless.

The hotel half of this apartment-hotel group has been rebranded Hotel Legacy at some point.
Good service provided by the few staff employed. (Operator and receptionist were essentially the same person when called from the room. )
Rooms are spacious and decently priced (RM200 for 3 adults), sea view is good.
Swimming pool was old but clean.
Complimentary dinner was also provided as a promotion (on top of the complimentary breakfast) and was fairly decent - their Penang laksa dinner choice was good.
Breakfast was a choice of American, continental or Malaysian - not a buffet.
air conditioning and shower heaters both work perfectly unlike for previous commenters.
Carpets are still old and the outside of their lifts and their car park needs a paint job, but it does not seem as disastrous as other commenters indicate.
Generally a pleasant stay.

These people should not be in the hospitality business. Ive stayed in better dormitories. Rooms were run down, carpets reeking, bulbs not working, water heater takes 15 mins to heat up etc etc. When contacted to complain about the hot water, room service replied ,"but its only hot water, cant you shower in cold water'????????????

Previously known as Costa Rica which then changed to Le Paris and finally to Legacy Hotel. Anything changed in terms of upkeep or refurbishment? Nope... different name, same nonsense. The only appetizing thing about the hotel was the lobby which has undergone some minor refurbishment and updating. Everything else was a disgrace by hospitality standards.

The basement carpark which was drab and dingy, had the entry and exit sharing the same path which was an accident waiting to happen especially considering it was a blind corner. The elevator is stuffy, dirty & dark, and had broken floor tiles. Out of 4 elevator shafts, only 2 were in operation. The room we got was a seaview unit and apart from the view, the room is disgusting. Its dirty, dusty, stains everywhere, water marks, debris on the carpet, dirty bathroom, faulty toilet seat, insufficient lighting, broken fittings tired furniture. Its just a really sad place to be in. The mattress were some cheap knock off which provided no comfort and the bed sheets were paper thin, probably worn out over time. The balcony railing was all eaten away by rust and does not look remotely safe to lean on.

For a RM170 a night room, we didn't expect luxury nor top notch service but the current state this hotel is in and with clear signs of negligence, it falls short even when compared to some budget motels.
