When thinking of Avillion, one must remember that it is located just 90 minutes from KL at a beach whose color is best described as muddy slate gray (both water and sand). Despite the shortcomings of the beach, the resort manages to create something pretty special - a string of villas over the water that have open air showers and a gap in the floor so you can look at the sea beneath you. You can also opt for the hotel rooms on the mainland but that would not give you the same experience. That the resort makes an effort to care for its buildings, and gardens despite the polluted beach says something about the management. a romantic place...with the "open shower" concept..i feel so "naked" everytime i had my shower...can see the sky and the birds flying while bathing..so peaceful ...sitting at the balcony...facing the see...

Avillion was excellent! very friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced. There is a romantic private pool (children not allowed) as well as a child friendly pool. I recommend the water chalet - the open air shower concept is excellent. There's also cheap seafood restaurants nearby!! Highly recommended on a short break from KLlah!!!!!
