Went there with family and friends. Those who dont like stairs, let them know in advance. The staffs are friendly, the beach is nice to relax, food is fine (just they have a lot of cats around the resto area). The room is not for fussy. But all good for me, coz most of the time we spent outside. They are rebuilding the jetty and its a bit difficult to climb up but fret not, u can do it!. The staff will help u. We took a 4d3n package with food and a 1 day snorkeling trip. On a free day, we hiked 10mins to ABC village and cycled all the way to tekek. And we did all this, with a 2yo baby. Totally worth it!
The Good: Panuba Inn has a great view and an average beach by local standards. The rooms (even the super deluxe) are basic, but that's fine. We were by no means expecting luxury. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end and the long list of problems begin. The Bad: The location is close to ABC, but you need a boat to get there, unless you want to trek through the jungle over a hill. On booking.com they claim to have wifi (at a daily cost). This is not the case. There is no wifi available. They claim to have TVs in some rooms, but the TV that was provided in our room was old, small and the power cable seemed to had been patched in an unsafe way that left the TV and the room at risk for an electical fire. Other guests said the TV only had one state-operated channel anyway so the TV, so the loss wasn’t that great. Do not expect to have a functioning TV in your room, despite what they promise, if you make the mistake of staying here. The place is poorly maintained. Pieces of the buildings have come off, both inside and outside. Same for the jetty/pier. Pieces have fallen off and are now in the sea. Electric cable hanging loose on the side, and the tide gets quite high.. Some of the support beams are about to come off, and at least one pillar it stands on is no longer connected to the jetty.. The cleaning is atrocious. There is garbage everywhere, including the beach and the sea. Rooms are not properly cleaned between guests either. Our fridge had the remains of some previous guest's unknown liquid all over it. Our bathroom was not in contact with the outside (no window open) but it kept filling up with mosquitoes every day. My theory is that they are born in the bathroom somewhere. Showering while fending off a platoon of mosquitoes is not my idea of a good time. If you eat at Panuba, be sure to order something local. The local food is not great compared to other local places, but at least the local food is edible. The western food we ordered felt like a cruel mockery of the dish it was supposed to imitate. This was not some sort of “western fusion”, it was just poorly prepared food. I've had better food made by military cooks with equipment from the 1960's, outside, in the midst of a storm. The service is slow. If there are 7 other people in the restaurant, expect long waiting times. How 2 waiters can't handle 9 people is beyond me. Food ordered with your partner might come at completely different times, leading to awkward dinners where you stare at your partner eating their sad dinner. They might also serve the dessert before the main course at times, with no logical explanation why. We have allergies. We specifically ordered food with that in mind, and specified to the waiters that the food they serve can not contain specific ingredients. We were served food with exactly the ingredients we asked them to exclude. The food really did take our breath away. Also, if you are allergic to cats, I have bad news. The staff feeds cats ON the restaurant tables. The cats are unaware that the food you have ordered is not cat food, and jump on your dinner table trying to get food. Annoying in all circumstances, but awful if you are allergic to cats. They have a ridiculously small boat to pick you up with, we felt a little bit afraid in it. Really minimal boat, hardly good on a lake and this is the sea. Last 2 days the boat was "broken" but in ABC village people told us it's not broken.. it had sunk!! Before it sunk/broke of we wanted to go somewhere and that boat isn't available due to work or sli ghtly larger waves, they will not call for other boats to pick you up. We made one call to a restaurant and they arranged pick up by a third party without issue. Is Panuba unable or unwilling to help you go elsewhere for the day? The alternative, the jungle trek, is not a practical one as it has difficult parts to trek and climb. I believe the problems at Panuba come from the staff being incompetent or uncaring. They have a lot of staff, but very little seems to get done. The cleaning could be fixed if they gave an effort. Cooking and waiting tables requires an effort from the staff. An effort the Panuba staff does not put in. Tioman has a lot of budget places to stay, so take your money elsewhere.…
Panuba Inn Resort is a private resort with beautiful sea view. You can hear the waves sound and it makes u feel peace and calm specially in night times. The only thing the resort need to do is by improve their facilities in rooms and toilets.Because the room look old and dirty. At the same time, toilets very smelly etc:room and lobby's toilet. The food is okay but not much varietis.Overall is Good. 2.The foods not much variety
The hotel not maintain well..need a lot of inprovement.. The room not clean. The aircond not working. The toilet dirty and dont have water...bad services... Snookling servicea bad...have to wait 3 hour to confirm the boat... Highly not recommended
Dive Centre (O I Sea Diving Academy): They are one of the best (if not the best) dive centres at Tioman Island. Great equipment, experienced instructors, always very helpful and most importantly insightful. I'm not too sure what kind of air filter they use on their air compressor, but I don't get the usual dry throat after every dive! Room (Panuba Inn Resort): Not well maintained and not cleaned up properly after check outs. Food (Panuba Inn Resort): They H\have a lot of variety, but be prepared to wait! You have to have Jedi-like patience. View (Panuba Inn & O I Sea): Nothing shot of GREAT! Almost like a private beach!
