I initially tried to book a package over 3mths in advance via their website unsuccessfully. I had to book via Booking.com which offered no packages hence, I had to pay more for my stay. The day before my check in I tried to arrange a pickup from Telek Marina jetty. Tried the number on Google no good. Tried the number on their website no good. Tried messaging via Booking.com. They received my messages but I wasn't able to read their text replies. Fortunately, Tioman Dive Resort messaged them via Whatsapp (which I don't use) and successfully arranged a pickup for me. They forewent the minimum 2pax pickup rule so credit there. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged my transfer to the jetty as well as my boat ticket. I don't think I was done any favours on my roon allocation even though I had booked over 3mths in advance. I was shown to my room and I asked does the tv work and she replied yes. My room was large and clean with a sofa, hanging space and plenty of shelving to lay clothes etc. The aircon, ceiling fan, fridge and tv all worked fine. Though with the tv I could only get no signal. A walk back to reception to be told there are no channels and given a box loaded with movies to plug in to the back of the tv. The bed had clean linens and provided a confortable sleep. With so many rooms in close proximity I was invariably woken by loud mouth people. The toilet and the shower were two seperate rooms each with their own basin. The shower had hot water and good pressure. The porch had a table and two chairs. Room cleaning was upon request. The restaurant food was okay. Some say a bit expensive but prices on any island a more expensive than on the mainland. Concerned people should do what most Malays do and cart your own food to an island then you won't have to whine. I did find getting the attention of service staff rather challenging. The food came in good time but then there were few customers. They offer activities luke boat trips etc. Also have a desk for spa services which are the most expensive in SEA. For example, in Thailand where I live I pay the equivalent of MYR42 for a 1 hour body massage. At The Barat this same service is MYR169. I did indulge myself to a 30min foot massage for MYR60 as I really needed it. I did not use the pool but it looked well maintained. It is also used for diver training. Sunloungers on the beach with shade constructions. Overall, putting aside my booking and communication frustrations I enjoyed my stay at The Barat.…

Booking was smoothly done via The Barat own website as there are packages offered to suit your preference. Arranged a pick up via thier reservation . Snorkeling package brings to 4 points for the 1/2 day trip. Food esp dinner was excellent, lunch & breakfast was included where vouchers were provided based in the package. Services for the kitchen waiters can be better improve, to have them respect customers when serving not by shouting to each other as it looks impolite. The service should not be obviously shows double standard when serving locals vs tourist. The reservation counter should be more friendly, they seem need more customer service training. The rooms are well maintained & overall the facilities and location wise was great.

Gorgeous beach resort. Travelled for a short dive escape with my parents joining me. The resort is at Kampung Juara, a 30-minute 4WD journey through the island jungle from the Kampung Tekek pier. I was fine with the 'little adventure' but my mum wasn't into it, not her cup of tea. Consequently, take note of this, who you bring along. We booked the superior family chalet. Spacious, clean with sufficient power points. Wifi signal is so-so. Thankfully, the celcom telco signal is rather reliable in my room. During my 4-day stay, there were at least one intermittent power trips daily but were resolved within a minute. I had already came across this reviews before making the reservation, so I was anticipating this. The only time, I felt frustrated when it happened while watching movies on the TV set. I will have to turn it on again and forwarded the timeline to where the video last stopped. The aircon and fan will resume when the power is restored. Most of the staff are friendly. The restaurant's food is pricier than those of the neighboring cafes/resorts, yet they are delectable. There is a wide selection of choices available. The beach was certainly stunning, yet unfortunately certain parts of it were plagued with sand flies, due to the remnants of food left by guests. We were blessed on the 2nd day of our stay when a turtle conservation centre close by released baby turtles right infront the resort. This resort is a hidden jem in an unspoilt village setting full of surprises. The scuba diving team were so professional. This must be one of the cheapest or if you prefer best value for money places to do your PADI course. The sea was beautifully warm and inviting. Food was realy very nice with a wide variety. Accommodation was also very comfortable and right on the edge of the jungle. Lots of sealife and wildlife. I will most certainly be back. I would said it doesnt worth the priced we paid for. There is no free shuttle service like other resort is provided. Room are dirty, dusty and smelly. They provided the following useless facility : 1) There is an electricity providef but the power tripping along the way. 2) There is a TV but no channel , need to request for an USB drive from reception but all are an super duper old movies. 3) Shower water is high pressure but water is dirty and yellowish. Suspected they tap from the water fall. 4) Swimming pool water is crazy dirty. 5) Toiletry are the super common one without any toothbrush provided. 6) Bed sheet and pillow full with stained mark. What compensating the above lsck off is the beach side is beautiful.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for being our guest and for your feedback. It is stated on our website and other booking sites that land transfers are chargeable, we did not mention that Astro and toothbrush are provided. If your room needs cleaning and bed linens need to be changed, please let us know during your stay and we would be happy to send Housekeeping to do the necessary. This is something that can be easily resolved if you inform us during your stay. We clean our pool every morning and we ask guest to rinse first before getting into the pool to ensure its cleanliness. Electricity is provided by Tenaga Nasional and when their supply is insufficient, there will be a switch over (last for a few seconds) to our generators to ensure consistent electricity. This is not a power cut. Our water supply is filtered by the local authorities and filtered again here at the resort before it flows to our guest rooms. The water is clean. Just like the water supply in the city, there will be a discoloration when it rains. Please keep in mind that we are an island resort and not located in the city as we understand that Barat Tioman Beach Resort may not be your cup of tea. We hope the above clarifies and we suggest that you take the time to find out about a resort and what it has to offer before booking to ensure that your expectations are met. went only for food there (and alcohol, which is rare in juara. and the food is really great and recommendable, e.g. the singapore noodles on the vegetarian menu. staff is young and superfriendly. guest get treaty quite formal, since the resort has a higher aspiration, but that did not hold me back to chat with the waiters here and there, since i wasn't going in the main eating times. they also serve red wine (yay) but you better order it with an ice cube and have it too cold, than 28 degree hot ;) from a western perspectives the prices around 18 to 40 rm are affordable and still lots of cheaper than home.

-i stayed there 4 nights, but sadly the housekeeping was terrible.
