We were actually staying at Berjaya in Tekek Village. We took a water taxi for a day trip to Genting and did a little walk round the coast. We stumbled upon Melina Beach resort and decided to stop for lunch. We were greeted with such warmth and kindness and hospitality. The restaurant was spick and span, spotless and clean, such a welcoming place for a beach side restaurant. The food, was the best we had on the island! If I do go back to Tioman, I would love to stay here.
What a truly amazing place to stay. The people here are fantastic. They just couldn't do enough for us from the boat that picked us up at the jetty to the warm welcome on the beach. Eimah and the owner really take care of the guests. They went out of their way to cook special meals for our kids. It felt like we were staying in the home if an old family friend. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are simple but incredibly clean. The kids loved the bunk beds. We swam at the perfectly clean beach sorklled and went in the Kayak. They organised an excursion for us in their boat. Just a really really wonderful place to stay if you are going to Tioman this is definitely the best place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful, simple and welcoming but the warmth of the staff and the care they take make it a sublime experience…
We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay in the Beach Front Chalet ….. sharing the resort and private beach with just one other family for the first couple of nights probably make the place felt more exclusive (as it was weekdays and government just approved interstate travels). We didn’t leave the resort at all, for 3 nights which i think is manageable if you have some friends or family around. Food are good and some Asian dishes are really delicious…… probably same price range as what you pay in KL restaurants/Pubs. Thanks the team in Melina!
We stayed 3D2N in Melina Resort, this trip is for our Team Building activity. It was a pleasant stay and hospitality by Melina Staffs are fantastic. Such a lovely environment and food is amazing. Our whole team enjoyed it. More Caring and supportive staffs made our stay much more interesting. Check-in and Check Out are very smooth and friendly. Will highly recommend to all my friends have to try for this once. Thank you Melina & Team... See you all soon !! Cheers....
We stayed 7N at Melina Beach Resort and the stay was superb. Located directly at the Beach in the middle of the jungle you can spot a lot of e.g. butterflies and just in front of the resort you can go easily snorkeling. The whole team is extremely friendly and takes care of all their guests. This remote place is highly recommended and very good to wind down
We stayed 2 night ,our room facing beach, room is spacious. The view frm our room was stunning, food delicious, staff friendly.the most i like the resort isolated.overall the place is great and recommended.
Confirming our initial room reservations online with Melina was a breeze. Our queries were timely answered and we were very much assured prior to our trip. Once our ferry arrived at Paya Beach, a Melina staff was already standing by with a smaller motorboat to transfer us to the Resort. It was a quick 5 minute boat ride and we were received very warmly by Lyza Jalani, the resort manager and her team. We stayed for 2 nights in the Egret Room and it was perfect for us. Far enough from the main reception area but practically on the beach itself - so that our 3 young kids could run out and play whilst the parents chill out on the balcony. Bunk beds for the girls, a comfortable double for the parents and another single for our boy. There was no kettle in the room (although you can loan one from the reception) but drinking water, hot water and beverages are readily available at the resort restaurant so it was not an issue. No TV and wifi in the room means that we could truly disconnect - A bliss. We enjoyed the resort mainly because there was so much to see - From exploring tide pools during low tides, climbing over the rock formations that line the beach, kayaking to nearby villages or just lazing in the warm waters. Planning excursion trips around Tioman was also easy and Lyza was always on hand with advice on trips that were suitable for our young kids. Food was definitely excellent! The variety, portions and quality for our dinners were outstanding. Lyza had also graciously arranged for a birthday cake (made by the resort chef) to be presented to my wife. We were very grateful. Checking out on the last day was also fuss free. Two nights at Melina Beach Resort is definitely not enough. Kudos to Lyza and team! We will definitely be back - next time hopefully for longer. …
We enjoyed our 3d2n getaway here to Melina, the beach was nice for morning walks and discoveries of animals. D' sunset view had an awe moment, great photos taken. Snorkeling in 3 spots was easy breeze, and you can see school of pretty fishies and colorful coral reefs. U can take a stroll to the next village, est 20-30mins? Food in Melina was pretty good, anddd added with the view, perfect. Lyza and her colleagues were awesome! So attentive & helpful :)
Super staff. Very comfy chalet. Nice food, great snorkelling in the neighbourhood. But most of all the kind reception and service by hostess Lyza. A joy to make the booking. Proactive arrangements for the ferry and accommodating for late check-out
We liked: private location, beach front chalet with comfortable bed, service minded staff smiling all day, local and italian dishes plus fish of the day, which you complement e.g. with veg and rice, swimming (be careful at low tide for stony rocks). We enjoyed our 4 night stay. What can be better: coffee machine iso coffee bags, green or herbal tea next to black tea, water pressure of the shower (we managed). Snorkeling trip was ok, but we saw few fish.
