I visited Berjaya resort as a family with a small kid. Honestly-I dont like such kind of resorts at all. So big, 2 golf courses. But there were not so many guests and that helped a lot. The staff is really nice, they try to help and satisfy you as they can. They have a wonderful breakfast. Due to a few people there was a calm, but I really wouldnt have been there in main season. The best of is a location-very near to Pulau Renngis (if you are a good swimmer you handle it by yourself) and it is one of the best places for snorchling on Tioman. The worst is also a location. Too long way to village, no restaurants, shops, anything reachable by foot. But they have everything what you need if you are a "resort type". We are not. But we were very satisfied also. Food is a little expensive but delicious, they have a very good offer for divers, everything is very clean. And last-they have own free shuttle from port, which you can use for free to reach village too. …
Stayed with family of five ... Young children who also loved the place. The islands beautiful & one of my favourites in Malaysia. Prices are very reasonable for a good quality hotel. There're a few pools and lounge areas to escape the guests but it's a casual place where you get your own privacy. It's a small island so transport to and from airport is done by shuttle through rain Forrest. I'd go back again anytime
If you want peace and tranquility to just get away from it all then Berjaya Tioman Resort is just the ticket! Absolutely breath taking scenery all around, from greenery to coastal scenery. The resort itself is very clean, well equipped with friendly staff too! A must visit in my opinion.
Went for a Deep Tissue massage with my boyfriend and the treatment was excellent from the reception until the end! Very welcoming, we were received with tea and warmth. The therapists were very skilled and the massage was just what we needed after a few days diving. At all times, the therapists were caring and very respectful with us!
A lot of previous reviews talk about Berjaya being run down, shabby, in need of attention; it’s an island getaway comprising wooden chalets, not Raffles! And, contrary to some comments, not expensive - we paid around 1200 baht a night (£30+). The rooms were clean and - most importantly - well cooled with a reliable aircon. The only real issue: please put a shelf in the shower! There’s nowhere to balance shampoos etc. We travel with a hard drive that contains our TV requirements and therefore always need a screen that has USB input; Berjaya uses Singer (?) TVs exclusively and the one in the room wouldn’t upload; the housekeeping manager was absolutely brilliant and kept pitching up with more TVs to try until we had to give up, but full marks to him for effort; it’s those sort of things that mark a hotels quality. Breakfast was OK - the dining room had burnt down a few days earlier which didn’t help - but the one foray into the Chinese restaurant was terrible; poor food (apart from the mem’s brinjal pops with garlic and chili which she loved) and pricey. On the plus side, we enjoyed the Beach Bar’s ‘two for one’ cocktails and ambience and great sunset location. The local restaurant outside the entrance immediately to the right was good value, however, and the hotel staff are more than happy to give you a lift as they drive up and down. The pool is big and there are - thank goodness - plenty of loungers but don’t lie on the beach; the sand flies are huge and hungry! There’s also a second kids pool - not working while we were there - and tennis, golf and games room: the works. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves, particularly with duty free prices on the booze (RM 35 for a litre of whisky in the df shop) and the staff were brilliant. Well done Berjaya!…
