We stayed in Jan 2020, from 25-27. Weather was unexpectedly nice and sunny and we love how clear the beach water in Tioman is. Here are some of the pros and cons during our stay in Tunamaya. Pros: - Private and clean beach. It was amazing how beautiful and serene the beach water. We can tell tht the beach was being taken care of because it was super clean and we had amazing time snorkling in the hotel beaches. Amazing coral and fishes, we even found a group of stingray swimming!! - Clean room. It wasn’t spacious but enough space for family of four like us. -Complimentary canned drinks in the fridge room, though we only knew when we check out because we took one and wanted to pay. Nice place and room,private beach. The only fallback is that you got to have your lunch/dinner only at the hotel restaurant. There is no other shops nearby. Hotel staffs were kind enough to buy us any things that we request. Overall a relaxing place to be.

Apparently this hotel closes during the monsoon season, but despite taking a lot of our money, the staff had already 99% checked out. The beach was nice, but that's pretty much the only positive. We spoke to other guests who were all trying to leave early. You could starve here, the restaurant was epically appalling. Dinner: we ordered nachos and the works. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant, we waited half an hour and were given tortilla chips, cheese and tartare sauce. The waiter just laughed and said they didn't have any other ingredients. We then attempted pizza. After another lengthy wait a pizza with completely random toppings appeared, bearing no relation whatsoever to the pizza we chose. When we queried this, the waiter just smiled and shrugged.…

Firstly, we read reviews online bout how you should email/inform hotel of your arrivals so that they can do a pick up at the nearest jetty, did everything expected. However, still had to wait an hour at jetty for them to pick up? After being LATE despite us giving our ferry details and timing, we had to accompany the guys to DROP OFF LAUNDRY all the way at Berjaya hotel. SERIOUSLY? Your pick up service includes running errands with your guys? We arrived at 915am and reach our hotel after all their errands and waiting at 11 plus. Well done, we are here for just a day.. looks like our plans to join the snorkel is gone.

We really liked our 8 night at Tunamaya. The stuff was always helpful and friendly. The resort is clean and the nature around beautiful and full of animals. You can spend your days laying on the beach or explore the sea or the rainforest. we had a lot of fun rying the activities with the greatest staff ever. The free shuttle to the ferry takes about 15 Minutes. The room had a great view with seperate deck chairs. Though the wifi is bad, they do their best to improve the connection. We would definately recommend Tunamaya!
