The staff at this resort is super helpful. Good sense of humour, and always smiling. The food at the restaurant is good, and doesn’t cost much. The location of the resort is fantastic! Right on the beach. The rooms are basic, with a nice veranda where we enjoyed the evenings.

If you are looking for a chilled out, friendly, clean beach hut get away on an idyllic beach- this is your place! I honestly cannot talk highly enough of Bushman’s and all the staff. From the first moment of contacting them they were so helpful and kind, you feel so at home and the place is so clean and beautiful. The food is great and really reasonably priced, they don’t serve alcohol but it was no problem for them to stop at the duty free shop on the way up from the pier. In fact, nothing was too much trouble for them! We felt so well looked after and really did not want to leave. A huge thank you to all the lovely staff for giving us the perfect break away, we will 100% be back! 😊

Initially we booked for 4 nights in Bushman but ended up extending to 3 more nights. We stayed in a beachfront chalet with a nice sunrise view. The staffs were very helpful and the Homemade local pizza is a must to try!!

Overview : The Bushman is basic. Very basic. I say that not to be mean, but just to be accurate. That may suit you, perhaps not. These are old chalets that have very dated furniture, shoddy beds, barely functioning lighting, crumbling bathrooms, stained mattresses, and curtains that only cover half the window, so don't expect privacy. Now, having said all the above, is that ok with you? For some, that is ok. In which case you won't be worried. On the upside, the location is stunning. You open the bedroom door, right onto the beach. Not metres away. Millimeters away. Simply gorgeous. The sand is soft, white and an absolute delight.. The onsite cafe operates extremely limited hours. Assume it's closed far more than its open. Fact:. you will be bitten alive by sandflies. These are different to mosquitoes. They are around 24/7. That means morning, noon and night. There are no hours of the day they will not get you. There is no escape from them. All you can do is either coat yourself in commercial insect repellent or their in-house coconut solution. Sold in bottles. Are either of them effective? Partially. We tried both, and it was a partial success. Note: sand fly bites hurt way more than mosquitoes, form a hard bump, and itch like hell. For 10 days. Added to this we are fairly sure we woke up each morning with bed bugs. Cant 100% guarantee you that's what it was, but felt pretty much like it was. Scratching for a few hours, with suspicious tell tale marks on our bodies. Conclusion:. It is a dream location on the beach. The sea is crystal clear, though does get rough in the afternoon. BUT:. Accomodation is beyond basic, poorly maintained, old, and shabby. Perhaps try it once. For 3 days

Spent four nights at the Bushman. The chalets are right on the beach, at a quiet end of Juara Beach. The chalets (we were in #4, not sure if all are the same so I’ll just describe ours) have two double beds and a single bed. Also A/c and fans. At night I felt fans were sufficient as it rained at night and cooled everything down. Also had lovely hot water showers in the bathroom, mini fridge and a great balcony with couch to lounge in. We all loved running around, playing cricket, swimming, lying In the hammocks, and relaxing. There are some lovely walks too - waterfalls to swim in. There were a few waves so that meant the water was not crystal clear close to the beach. One day we organised, through bushman, to go to Coral Island on their boat and go snorkeling. Thoroughly recommend this - the snorkeling was amazing and we all had a wonderful time. We ate at a few different cafes but decided Bushman was our favourite. Delicious food and really friendly staff. Will definitely return. So quiet and laid back with a real family feel. Recommend cataferry - much more spacious and doing social distancing. Felt like luxury compared to their competition (Blue something).

We loved the rustic getaway. It was a time to disconnect and just enjoy beautiful Tioman. The chalets are right on the beach. The sandflies found us, but it got better after the first day or two. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We tried to check out various restaurants and really enjoyed the Mia and My cafes. We went on some of the excursions and we all had a great time. Other establishments down the beach don’t have the same friendly atmosphere. Bushman was a real escape from the hub of city life.

I returned to Tioman, 27 years years after my last visit and again chose Juara beach. It was a bit busier than back then but still relatively quiet and without loud music. Bushman was a great place to stay being a little further from the pier than a few other places. The chalets were simple but comfortable enough with good air con and a fridge which was essential in the heat. The staff were always helpful and the place had a good feeling about it. We ate the majority of our meals here and there was a good choice with plenty on a plate. They will run you to the ferry for a small amount 25RM each for us. We very much enjoyed our walks to nearby waterfalls and into the forest where we saw huge lizards, squirrels, fruit bats, many birds and even a snake swimming in a stream. Check out the turtle info centre, a 15 minute walk away.

This place is astonishing. Wonderful staff, a paradise beach and really excellent food. They took us out on their boat to discover the coral reef, and we had fresh barbecued fish for the evening meal. It doesn't get better than this on Tioman - or anywhere.

If you look for a crowdy beach full of bars, restaurants and if you like flashy lights and loud music do not go to Bushman:))) This place offers long, gold, sandy, empty beach with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. You even do not have to go the the beach because you live on the beach. Chalets are placed 20-30 meters to the sea. We had a triple chalet with 3 beds, air conditioning and shower. There is an open air restaurant which serves breakfasts and dinners. I have to say that bushman restaurant was the best on that side of the island. You can find few more restaurants/ bars at the sea offering mostly Chinese food but most of them are rather dirty and food standard is low. Bushman chalets offers regular trips at the other side of the island and they also have a wide offer of different trips around the island. Staff is amazing, helpful, funny, happy. You feel there like at home and you feel really warm welcomed. The only thing I did not like were all these insects also inside the chalet but it is also a part of this adventure. You live on the beach in a wooden house and you have only nature and jungle around you. I fully recommend this place.
