If you are looking for a chilled out, friendly, clean beach hut get away on an idyllic beach- this is your place! I honestly cannot talk highly enough of Bushman’s and all the staff. From the first moment of contacting them they were so helpful and kind, you feel so at home and the place is so clean and beautiful. The food is great and really reasonably priced, they don’t serve alcohol but it was no problem for them to stop at the duty free shop on the way up from the pier. In fact, nothing was too much trouble for them! We felt so well looked after and really did not want to leave. A huge thank you to all the lovely staff for giving us the perfect break away, we will 100% be back! 😊

Initially we booked for 4 nights in Bushman but ended up extending to 3 more nights. We stayed in a beachfront chalet with a nice sunrise view.

The staffs were very helpful and the Homemade local pizza is a must to try!!

This place is astonishing. Wonderful staff, a paradise beach and really excellent food. They took us out on their boat to discover the coral reef, and we had fresh barbecued fish for the evening meal. It doesn't get better than this on Tioman - or anywhere.

Spent four nights at the Bushman. The chalets are right on the beach, at a quiet end of Juara Beach. The chalets (we were in #4, not sure if all are the same so I’ll just describe ours) have two double beds and a single bed. Also A/c and fans. At night I felt fans were sufficient as it rained at night and cooled everything down. Also had lovely hot water showers in the bathroom, mini fridge and a great balcony with couch to lounge in.

We all loved running around, playing cricket, swimming, lying In the hammocks, and relaxing. There are some lovely walks too - waterfalls to swim in.

There were a few waves so that meant the water was not crystal clear close to the beach.

One day we organised, through bushman, to go to Coral Island on their boat and go snorkeling. Thoroughly recommend this - the snorkeling was amazing and we all had a wonderful time.

We ate at a few different cafes but decided Bushman was our favourite. Delicious food and really friendly staff.

Will definitely return. So quiet and laid back with a real family feel.

Recommend cataferry - much more spacious and doing social distancing. Felt like luxury compared to their competition (Blue something).

I returned to Tioman, 27 years years after my last visit and again chose Juara beach. It was a bit busier than back then but still relatively quiet and without loud music. Bushman was a great place to stay being a little further from the pier than a few other places. The chalets were simple but comfortable enough with good air con and a fridge which was essential in the heat. The staff were always helpful and the place had a good feeling about it. We ate the majority of our meals here and there was a good choice with plenty on a plate. They will run you to the ferry for a small amount 25RM each for us. We very much enjoyed our walks to nearby waterfalls and into the forest where we saw huge lizards, squirrels, fruit bats, many birds and even a snake swimming in a stream.
Check out the turtle info centre, a 15 minute walk away.

This place is amazing! If you’re looking to relax and just chill this is the place for you. The hotel is located at one end of Juara Beach and is nine small basic chalets (on the beach) and a restaurant, which makes the place very intimate. There are hammocks next to the chalets and beach chairs if you want to sunbathe. The staff is very sweet and helpful.
The food at the restaurant is great and very reasonably priced.
If you like to snorkel, you don’t have to swim far to see many colourful fish and baby reef sharks.

We stayed for seven days, loved every single moment and did not want to leave again. If you’re planing on going to Tioman, Bushman is definitely worth a stay.

We loved the rustic getaway. It was a time to disconnect and just enjoy beautiful Tioman. The chalets are right on the beach. The sandflies found us, but it got better after the first day or two. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We tried to check out various restaurants and really enjoyed the Mia and My cafes. We went on some of the excursions and we all had a great time. Other establishments down the beach don’t have the same friendly atmosphere. Bushman was a real escape from the hub of city life.

The staff at this resort is super helpful. Good sense of humour, and always smiling.
The food at the restaurant is good, and doesn’t cost much.
The location of the resort is fantastic! Right on the beach.
The rooms are basic, with a nice veranda where we enjoyed the evenings.

I hesitate to write this review so as not to let the world know about this paradise. Bushman's made our 5 month trip around asia. The bungalows are well appointed/clean/directly on the beach, staff became family, food was ridiculously good, and overall environment was conducive to deep relaxation. We booked 4 days and extended our stay to 2 weeks.

Pros:
- Location: Juara beach is the more secluded laid back side of Tioman. Bushman is also located at the southern more quiet part of the beach. Bungalows are on the beach with unobstructed beach and ocean views. Location could not be better.
- Value: This is hands down the least expensive place across Juara beach and yet is has the best accommodations and best restaurant. They've kept the price at 80RM a night for ever, while most others are 150 - 300 RM a night.
- Food: Arshad and the rest of the Bushman family are amazing cooks. People come from other beaches to go to the restaurant. Plates are 6 - 10 RM, with shrimp around 19 RM Beer and wine is well priced and in great supply.
- Activities: Snorkeling and hiking trips arranged on demand with groups of 4+. Priced just under others on Juara beach. No more than 6- 8 go in a group whereas others on Juara are 30 - 50 people! Amri makes the trip fun.
- Staff and people: The staff seriously became like family. Additionally, we met some great people staying there.
- Accommodations: Bungalows have clean interiors with AC (at this point almost all or all have AC). Each have a porch with comfortable bench or chairs for relaxation and palm trees to provide a bit of shade. Refrigerator to keep your beverages cold. Only 7 bungalows ensure decent size but not too big of a crowd.
- Decent wifi available at restaurant.

Cons:
- Sand flies: This is a reality of Juara Beach. It helps to have Johnson baby oil and not to spend hours lying on the beach. Some people don't get bites and others need to take more precaution and suffer the bites and itching. Regardless, this is not bad enough to deter you from visiting this paradise.
- Place get's booked early, rightfully so. Book as far out as possible via email.

Recommendations:
- Go for 5+ days. The pace of life is much slower and to relax and you'll need the extra days to get in that mind set. Many stay for 2 weeks or even a month.
- Food Recommendations. Breakfast: 1) Roti with Egg/cheese 2) Ask for banana roti, not on menu. Dinner: 1) Garlic shrimp 2) Peanut sauce on anything 3) Bushman noodles.
- Hiking: Do the waterfall hike at the southern most part of Juara. It's about 2 hours round trip from Bushman. Get directions from Bushman or hire them to take you. Waterfall has fantastic swimming hole.
- Snorkeling: Do coral island trip. I don't recommend around the island trip, as the southern island waterfall was nothing special/had paved cement trail/is packed.
- Duty Free: Bushman has alcohol but if you want extra, stop by duty free when you get off the ferry before getting picked up. It's incredibly inexpensive.

I cannot recommend enough a stay at Bushmans.
