Really great Host. They helped us in every situation. We had a free shuttle from the ferry to the resort what is really nice and helpful. The rooms had everything that we needed. And early in the morning at 5:30am we got breakfast and a shuttle back to the Gerry. Highly recommended.

Suit for those craving for Chinese cuisine. Visited twice out of my 3 nights stay. The food overall taste ok. Free flow of sky juice if you wish to save for beverage. You will need to have self service to take your own plate and eating utensils. After eating, please place all the plate and eating utensils at specified place.

Went here together with a friend and we stayed in one of their small huts. Quite basic, but nice with air-con and comfy beds. Couldn't ask for more. Also breakfast is included and we ate mangos all the time as there are trees all around the resort. Dinner was very tasty and cheap - definitely recommend ordering the vegetable soup! The staff were very friendly and arranged a snorkelling trip for me, my friend and a couple the first day. Even though they have a minimum of 6 people we could go only 4 and didn't have to pay more. The second day the couple cancelled last minute and we got the entire boat, a guide and a driver for our selves for 5 hrs for the same price. Super nice and highly appreciated. The guide and manager, Mr Gou, was excellent at spotting turtles, sharks and various kinds of fish. We went to many different islands and my personal favourite was the snorkelling spot by the white sand beach at Coral island. On our last days a girl from the resort took us on a small hike to a secluded beach. Such an amazing experience to walk trough the forrest and see the ocean through the trees. I could really tell that the staff cared about making our experience as good as possible. Highly recommend staying here, even if it's a bit far from the town (Tekek) and too expensive to go there if you're only two persons.

The rooms are really small but relatively clean ! We had a 3 persons room and it was quite expensive for the quality and especially for Asia... (47 euros for one night) We had noisy neighbours (Asian people) and we could hear everything during all the night ! Everything was closed on that part of the Island during August (all shops and restaurants). The food in the hotel was ok but for 5 days it's was a little bit too much, the same.. The manager is friendly and help people ! Stay there if you have to but for 2-3 days maximum ;)

Aguna was of it the highlights of our entire one month trip around Malaysia. It's totally basic, but if you're in it for a cheap and super friendly stay in a beautiful place, you'll love aguna. It's not on the beach but it's SO close to the nicest beach I've ever seen. We made really sweet friends here and we just grew to love the guy that runs the place. Also the cheapest (help yourself system) beer and snorkeling mission was so fun! AC and rooms are clean. We stumbled into this place and felt the good vibes and never wanted to leave. Oh yeah- the food isn't good.... I don't think tioman has great food, accept for at Japamala, but the island is so tranquil, it's worth it.

instead of resort, its more of a wooden cabin. Dining area, room and toilet r clean. Towel n soap are provided. Aircon is strong. However no much activities provided in d resort. Manager is v friendly, gives us some mango as aguna is full of mango tree. Breakfast is decent. Its usually fried mee, fried egg and toast. Decent w this kinda price. At night,d beach in front of aguna is a perfect star viewing spot as its less light polluted. Otherwise not much activities at night.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Resort is a good 10-15 min walk from the jetty. But the resort will arrange for someone to pick up your bags so you don't have to lug them around. Keep an eye for an old guy riding a motorbike with sidecar bearing the resort name. Beach is less than 5 minute walk. Very safe for kids to swim/ sand play but watch out for jellyfishes. Not much to see if you want to snorkel around there. Best to walk a further 15-20 minutes to the beach in front of Damai resort. Good for Swimming and snorkelling. The resort is also near a dive centre, Tioman Dive Buddy, I think. Stayed in a quad share room with 2 double beds, fan and aircon. There are hooks to hang your clothes. No shelf, just a small writing desk to put your stuff. Resort grounds nicely maintained with outdoor shower area and rattan swings at the Recep area. Some nice touches include free flow of hot & cold water, tea and coffee as well plain butter crackers for guests. And a very friendly male Chinese owner who makes a point to get to know his guests.

I am giving a one-star rating for four reasons. First, the location of the resort is bad; there is no waterfall, jungle trekking or water activities nearby. Second, the food was extremely terrible. To be fair, the dinner on the first night was OK, but other meals are unacceptably bad, especially the lunch on the second day (which consisted of one big box of white rice plus probably 1/3 piece of fried egg and sausage)k. And please note that lunch is not provided for the first day - we either have to starve or to pay for the overpriced food. We were also promised a BBQ dinner, but instead of allowing us to grill the food ourselves, the resort staff did it for us. The food quantity and variety of the BBQ dinner was pathetic and the taste was poor (mostly consisted of overcooked food). Third, they wanted to bring us to only two snorkeling sites although their website clearly mentioned that there should be three sits. Only after I pointed this out with the boss that they brought us to one more snorkeling site, but allowed us to stay there very briefly (probably around 15 minutes). Finally, there is a shortage of staff in the resort. We were asked to walk from the jetty to the resort ourselves just because all the staff was away during the day of our arrival. We will never return to this resort again.

Kg Genting, so quiet but nice. But can be very boring too. Wished had stayed in Salang but price was not right there. Have to walk 2 mins to beach, so its really jungle setting. Beautiful and calm. Very very well kept surrounding by the manager. Room is clean n comfortable BUT one or two furniture to put bag or a bench would not hurt. Manager, pls take note. its very unpleasant to keep bag and clothes on the floor. Toilet is clean n maintained. Free tea/coffee/biscuits anytime! Decent breakfast. I wont shout out about their service. I cant find the same vibe felt by previous reviewer. I think it was exaggerated. Please be ready for just ok service and friendliness. Just normal human to human friendliness. Sometimes moody manager. Sorry Manager I have to be frank. But you are not bad either. Very standard motel property with nothing to shout, nothing to loose. But great free coffee tea and biscuits treat :)

Customer service: 10/10 They've been very helpful I should say, they might not be a 5 star hotel but the customer service gives them that 5 star! I was just checking with them through Facebook and haven't even booked yet but they still accomodate me and patiently answered my questions. Which made me decide they are the right one! They even provided the ferry schedule and helped me reserve seats for the ferry which is very difficult online and you just pay once you get to ferry station. This was a huge ease for us and less worry. They fetched us from genting jeti and greeted with smiles and short talks, they were nice. They also helped booking the snorkeling activity. But we should've opted for the half day tour because full day snorkeling is just tiring and exhausting. We started 11am and finished at 5pm. I hope they also offered food/ included lunch during the island hopping activity because we were starving already on the 2nd stop, it could've given them extra mile. But overall their customer service is the best thing they could offer, which is what you would be happy to experience most when you travel. Good, happy and accommodating hotel staff gives you that good head start of vacation even if you're having a bad day. Keep it up! Room: 7/10 We took the quad room and it is decent enough, it's bungalow type which gives you that kampung feeling. Bed is clean and comfy, and space is enough to move but not too much. It's cheap and worth the price considering that the accommodation in other hotels are expensive. Only the walls are thin so you can hear the person talking on the other room. And they keep banging the door like a retard. Toilet: 7/10 Toilet is clean which is amazing! water pressure is good as well. The shower head is improvised pvc which I find creative. Water heater is working well. Sink is clean and everything is clean. It doesn't have the best aesthetics but as long as its clean, then it's good for me. Food: 8/10 We got FREE breakfast which is nice, buffet style. You got free access to coffee, tea, biscuits, even orange juice which shows how they are giving well to their customers. It's not 5 star food but if you offer FREE food, customers will definitely be happy!! Who wouldn't be?! Customers can afford food but giving something extra always keep them happy! It's always the extra mile. The staff also recommended Cocobar restaurant to try, its near the jetty, indeed it was great especially the chicken chop and tuna pizza which the staff recommended. It's a plus on their customer service! For recommending the best of what the island can offer. Environment: 7/10 It wasn't beach front but its only 2-3mins walk to the shore which isn't that bad, you have to pass a bridge then another resort to get to Aguna Resort. The environment is clean, basic but gives you that kampung feels which adds to the experience instead of staying in a really grand hotel and you're loosing that pinch of experience of the roots/ culture of that place. I love their reception as it is very relaxing to look at, it has wooden hammocks, some tree trunks for a seat, cute little chairs. It's really homie. Accessibility: 7/10 It's just 5-8mins walk from the jeti which gives less to worry when you have an early ferry trip. Resort isn't that far from beach front as well. Too bad our stay is too short we didn't get to enjoy what the front beach offered. Overall: 8/10 This budget hotel offers more than what a budget hotel could offer. Friendly staff and nice food. Will definitely come back here. :) If you're reading this post, please hit Like / Thank you button 👍
