Travellers' Choice
Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca. This piece of paradise has been 2 million years in the making, and here you will find one of the world's premier resorts nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land. You will find no other resorts - just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for our guests. A combination of luxury, natural beauty and age-old wilderness woven together to produce an environment where peace and magically memorable moments are the currency. Of the island's 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the Resort and its eight Estates. Wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest as if nature had been the architect dictating how walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky. Nature is respected here, almost revered, and it rewards visitors in ways that simply need to be experienced.

I’ve been fortunate to stay in many fantastic hotels and resorts over the years but have never encountered the level of service that we experienced at Pangkor Laut. From the moment we arrived at Marina Island to departing from the island a few days later, the level of service was unprecedented. The resort itself is fantastic – a beautiful location with great villas, excellent food and an amazing beach – but it is the people that really make it exceptional. While never overbearing, the entire team were always checking that things were in order and constantly went that extra mile to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. It’s a long way from Ireland to Pangkor Laut but we’ll find a reason to return.

Excellent service and beautiful resort. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Delightful buffet spread at all the restaurants. Resident’s package highly recommended. Enjoyed the run along the north part of the island.. Secluded and hilly 4.5km route. Would be nice to have signs along the way

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pangkor Laut Resort (PLR), and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The entire experience left me longing for more, and I cannot wait to plan my return trip. Allow me to share the highlights of my stay. Smooth Check-In Process at Marina Island Jetty Complex: Arriving at the Marina Island Jetty Complex, I was pleased to find that PLR had its own reception area and lounge. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The boats to the resort departed regularly, approximately every half an hour, with a short 15-20 minute journey to the island. Warm Welcome and Informative Introduction: Upon reaching Pangkor Laut Resort, I was greeted by a staff member named Dian, who provided a warm welcome and an informative tour of the resort. Dian introduced us to the various amenities and activities available, ensuring we were well-informed and ready to make the most of our stay. Hill Villa - A Serene Oasis: I opted for a stay in one of the hill villas, which offered a tranquil and picturesque retreat. Although it required a short walk, the resort's elevator made it convenient. The villa itself was spacious, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. While the view of the bay was partially obscured by a tall tree, it was still breathtaking and added to the overall charm of the surroundings. Memorable Dining Experiences: During my stay, I had the pleasure of dining at Uncle Lim's on the first night and indulging in the "pasar malam" buffet dinner on the second night. Despite the limited variety at Uncle Lim's, the dishes were delectable, leaving my taste buds satisfied. The highlight, however, was the "pasar malam" buffet dinner, where the food selection was carefully curated to replicate the vibrant and diverse offerings of our local night markets. It was an extraordinary culinary experience that truly captured the essence of Malaysia's street food culture. Village Spa - A Haven of Bliss: The Village Spa at Pangkor Laut Resort surpassed all expectations. The treatments were rejuvenating, and the complimentary bathhouse was a true gem. However, I wish I had been informed beforehand about the private swimming pool accessible to spa visitors and guests of the spa villas. Knowing this would have allowed me to bring my bathing suit and fully enjoy this exclusive amenity. A Future Return Awaits: My visit to Pangkor Laut Resort was a truly unforgettable experience, leaving me yearning for more. The combination of breathtaking scenery, impeccable service, and exceptional facilities make it an ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. I cannot wait to plan my return trip and relish the enchanting ambiance once again. In summary, Pangkor Laut Resort provided an exceptional vacation experience. From the hassle-free check-in process to the warm welcome by Dian, the comfortable hill villa, delightful dining options, and the unparalleled Village Spa, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Pangkor Laut Resort to anyone seeking a luxurious and rejuvenating getaway.

We stayed over the weekend with my family at the Garden suite. Booked 2 units. This is our 3rd trip in the past few years and our 2nd one this year. There was a leaking issue with one which was identified before we checked in. The reception promptly informed us and swapped us out to another two units. The room was relatively clean except for a red ant issue by the day bed which needed to be rectified. The cleanliness of the verandah could have been better. But over all the room condition was good given the age of the resort. A strange rule which probably was implemented recently that Emerald Bay was only accessible after 10. Remember being at the beach at 9 ish the past 2 trips. But shout out to Ong who found us waiting for the shuttles to send us at 10 to personally fetch my family and the kids to Emerald Bay before 10. Really appreciate the gesture. Also a big mention of appreciation to Mages and Darwin who took the effort to ensure all our meals were looked after and gave us some little extras to make the trip memorable. These 3 individuals made this trip all the difference with their top notch service.

I spent 3 nights in this resort together with my 2 kids & my wife. We stayed at the hilltop villa. Here are some good points about this resort: Most of the staff are friendly. The resort manager, Mr. Mages went out of his way to ensure that our stay was good & comfortable The villa is big & spacious. Everything in the villa was in working order & in good condition The resort is clean & well kept The swimming pool is clean and not crowded There is a fantastic changing room located near the swimming pool The beach is very clean with clear water & a good changing room & a decent restaurant The ambience of all the restaurants are fantastic Villas are cleaned twice a day Here are some bad points: Not many sea activities. The ones that are available get booked fast. On the first day, I wanted to book a leisure sea fishing for my son and me but I was told that it’s fully booked for the next 3 days. This baffled me because I just came and this activity has already been booked. If this were truly a luxury resort that emphasized on service, then they would have gone an extra mile to arrange another leisure sea fishing for us which they did not. The wifi at my villa was extremely bad. I couldn’t extra any website. I could not even use my Maxis data at the villa. Villas are cleaned between 9am to 5pm. If you are unlucky, your villa will b cleaned at 5pm. On the 2nd day, when we came back to that villa at 1pm, our villa was not cleaned. We called 4 times between 1pm to 3pm asking the villa to be cleaned. No one came. Eventually at 3pm, my wife had to go looking for the house keeping staff. Only then our villa was cleaned The beach is located about 10-15 minutes away from the lobby. We have to use a shuttle to go there. On our first day, we had to wait for more than 20 minutes for the shuttle. No one is manning the towel station at the swimming pool.

We had an amazing two weeks at Pankour Laut resort. We stayed in the Spa Village and enjoyed a room over the water which was lovely. My only criticism would be that the room was quite dated and when the tide came in, it brought in tonnes of rubbish such as bottles/burger boxes etc. Obviously no fault of the resort but it spoilt the view sometimes. We possibly spent too long at the resort as we found that there wasn’t a huge amount to do after a couple of days especially as the weather was very interchangeable and, whilst hot, wasn’t always sunny with quite a lot of rain!! However, on the plus side, it was absolutely the incredible service and staff that made the trip for us. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and we felt that all staff really took the time to get to know us. In particular, we want to thank Mages and the team including Mohammed, Al Ahmed and Adyna….. for looking after us. A special thank you to Mizan who took care of us every day at the spa pool. Of course, all the staff were just brilliant and helped to make our stay wonderful. We finally left feeling relaxed and refreshed. A truly beautiful island with truly lovely and attentive staff. Thank you all.

I absolutely love visiting Pangkor Laut Resort. Have gone there four times now and each time it doesn't disappoint. It's a place where I can relax and just be. I've stayed at the Sea Villa, the Spa villa and the Hill Villa. My favorite so far is the Spa Villa and it's a close call with the Hill Villa as it depends on what you are looking for. The Hill Villa - you get closer to the sounds of the birds. The Spa Villa - is closer to the Spa and a longer distance to walk to the restaurant. But it's a beautiful walk.... Be careful of the monkeys - they don't mess around and you don't want to mess with them by engaging. Some of the beautiful highlights include the spa, Emerald Bay, the daily hikes led by Einstein (who's delightful and funny) and the attention to detail that makes for my stay a memorable one. I first visited this place in 2000 and had planted a tree there. The tree is still alive and well! This year, at the spa, I signed up for two workshops at the Spa Village and walked away with one eye pillow filled with local herbs and two intricately decorated hands designed by one of the talented staff member. This is a gem of a place that you won't want to miss!

Dear OnAir53234029188 First of all, thank you so much for coming back to Pangkor Laut Resort for the 4th time !!! I cannot believe you have done so much and I hope you will come back again soon to see what is new. I am happy to read that you try out the new activities in the Spa Village and making your own eye pillow is very interesting. Nevertheless, I believe I told you that you are the first one who planted the tree and got a new spot to place the plaque as well. I hope your next return may see the tree grow again but don't too long to return. Once again, thank you for coming back and hope to see you soon. Take care Ong Hend Ley Resident Manager

This was a real treat of a getaway. The resort is magnificent and rooms over the water spectacular. The bar and swimming pool area is lovely. The trip to Emerald Bay (5minutes by shuttle) is a must - take a small bite to eat and have a drink whilst soaking up the serene scenery.

A very pleasant family holiday for our group of 10. Stress-free and relaxing atmosphere, plentiful staff catering to your needs, good food choices and clear emerald sea - this resort remains a favourite. I believe this is more a family resort as there is a lack of night-time entertainment, eg, the bar is closed by 6pm. YTL has made a valiant effort to keep the place in good shape. There was a very fast response when the AC in one of our rooms stopped working on day 2. Several handymen turned up immediately and when it was ascertained that a new compressor was needed, a new room was prepared straight away and our luggage moved. The charismatic resort manager, Mr Ong, does an excellent job with customer relationship management and that was reflected by the good humour trailing all his interactions with guests. We thank the resort for fulfilling all the special requests we had re seating and food arrangements.

We had an incredible experience during our stay at PKL, and I'd like to share a glowing review. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. The check-in process was seamless, and we were warmly welcomed at the port. The resort grounds were impeccably maintained, with lush gardens and beautiful scenery. Our room was not only comfortable but also meticulously clean. It was clear that attention to detail was a top priority. One of the highlights of our stay was the food. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with a variety of options to suit every palate. Each dish was expertly prepared, and we found ourselves looking forward to each meal. The resort's amenities were also top-notch. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or taking part in the various activities offered, we were never bored. There was always something fun to do. What truly set this resort apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff members were always friendly, attentive, and eager to assist with any request. Their genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. In summary, our experience at this resort was nothing short of outstanding. It's the kind of place that leaves you with wonderful memories and a longing to return. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable getaway. We can't wait to come back!
