We booked a Snorkeling Daytrip to Mataking, Timba Timba and Pom Pom. We thought that the Snorkeling Daytrip is organised by Summerfriends Homestay itself but they just drove us to BGB Country Tours & Travel. We wanted a Daytrip with a lot of Snorkeling in a small group, we got a Fotoshooting tour on different Islands from a big tour company instead. We weren't told the true program and the true organisator and paid RM150 for each person. If you want to do a Fotoshooting tour with little Snorkeling, book directly over BGB, this is much cheaper and you get detailed information about the timeline. Overall we are very disappointed from Summertime Homestay and would never book this tour again.

Wir wurden pünktlich in Tawau abgeholt und im Fährhafen Semporna schon erwartet. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sauber und authentisch. Die Unterwassserwelt ist fantastisch und Jazz war immer mit uns im Wasser um uns Schildkröten, Seepferdchen Tintenfische usw. zu zeigen. Kaum wieder an Land standen schon knusprig gebackene Bananen auf dem Tisch. Leider ist der Uferstreifen der Insel nicht sehr sauber.

Me and my wife were sent here from another lodge due to overbooked. We were told by the owner that they have a room, but with no bed. They could only supply us with mattress. We OK with a smile. What was nice about this place is the fact that it was very clean. Too clean for a budget lodge. From the entrance, hallway, dining table, sun deck, cups, forks, spoons, ketchup bottles, etc. The room was basic. But clean. You can smell is on the fabrics. The owners, Sandra and her husband Mr Yong, were super friendly. Soft spoken. She treated us like their children. Their son, Jazz, was the loud one. Friendly too. A good snorkeling guide, also a good guide for activities on and off the island. The dining area was complete. A satellite TV, free flow of water, coffee and tea - of course you need to make your own drink. There are 6 bathrooms, 4 of those with toilet. Very clean. The sun deck on the roof top is a plus. The food was superb. Fusion of chinese, malay and local. Visit them here: http://www.summerfriendshomestay.com/ The only short fall is that it was not located at the front facing the open sea. However good beach is just a few minutes walk. This place will give u peace compared to other cheap lodge because it doesn't host a diving center. But there are several dive centers just a walk around if you need to have one. There are also several local shops around if you need to get your basic necessity. There are also a few local eateries. Good in taste, cheap in price. Mind you, electricity is from 6pm - 6am and no air condition.…
