An eco-friendly lodge nestled along the riverbank of Kinabatangan river the longest and biggest river in Sabah. The Lower Kinabatangan is one of Sabah's most splendid natural treasures and the richest concentration of wildlife in South East Asia. The lodge has 12 rooms with an additional twin-sharing handicapped friendly room equipped with air-condition and attached bathroom. Appreciate the "Green" details practise by the lodge where at night all electrical items run on solar power.
Stayed as part of a jungle tour. Room OK basic, water not hot for showers, but still a loo and a sing, have been in worse. Food was buffet style so you could have more of what as an individual you like, good prawns. Guides were good finding lots of animals for us.

We stayed here as part of a Buffalo Jungle Tour to Sabah. The lodge, the restaurant and the general facilities although rustic were entirely in keeping with an experience I The Bornean rain Forrest. The hospitality was outstanding and the river safari was fascinating. We saw wild orangutans, all sorts of monkeys including the unusual Proboscis monkeys, eagles, crocodiles and were so very lucky to see the endangered Pygmy Elephants of Borneo. Just an experience of a lifetime.

Excellent, friendly staff and boat drivers. Nice simple mini-houses, more than reasonable foods (just not a wide selection) both tasty and well presented. Everything you need for boat trips up/down river to see all kinds of birds, orangs, alll other kinds of monkeys, crocs.... lizards.....long list. Really nice comfortable environment and they clearly try to not leave a big footprint. Walter is the 'headmaster' and runs a very nice campsite... the monkeys respect his area....and run alll around the campsite otherwise. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The facilities are very basic, but the location and the tours makes it a great place to stay. The rooms are very basic and the bathroom could have been better and cleaner. The food is basic too and buffet only. But it does the job and all is served with great pride and good spirit. The boat tours were great and we have seen really a lot of fantastic animals.

Spent only one night here ☹️ Had a very warm welcome by the staff after a 10 minutes boat trip from the other side of the river. Very good food offered (3 courses containing soup, main course and desert). Rooms nicely decorated, with air conditioning and fan (please be aware that air conditioning is not available as the switch between generator and solar power), but as long as you have air con working until 10:30 pm it cools down the room sufficiently and fan is continuing through the night and keeps it cool. Great boat trip during the late afternoon (unfortunately we missed the elephants)... Great spots of the mangrove forest.

Well, after touring round asia already for a couple of weeks, staying in top class hotels we arrived here for 3 nights, and it was a bit of a culture shock... But we soon fell in love with the place. Being a nature lodge, it really is. The rooms a basic, have air con, and thats about it, but are reasonably clean and comfy. The is no tv, appart from in the so called lounge, no wifi, the bar is just a mock up, there is 1 choice of beer, and 3 choices of wine, food is traditional malaysian, very good though. For 2 of the days there was only 3 of us here. Monkeys run amock during the night, so dont leave window open... ha ha..and gekos are all over the place...We went on 5 river cruises, and saw the most wonderful animals and birds, thanks to our eagle eyed boat driver, and Aziz, a…

We visited here for only one night. It is clean but basic. No WiFi, but who needs it!! You are here to see real Borneo life. We went on a river trip from 4-6pm. Saw lots of birds, monkeys, no crocodiles although we looked hard. It was so good. We went again the following morning before we left for our next flight. We saw a couple of tiny baby crocs. Some beautiful birds too, although sadly no Kingfishers. Definitely a place to visit. Good food. Friendly staff. A bit of agility required getting on and off the boat, but the whole place is wheelchair friendly, so I am guessing they have provision for the boat transfer.

This is a fantastic lodge. The accommodation is in keeping with the rainforest. Comfy beds, good showers and air con included. Not crowded with tourists. The food is fantastic with something for everyone! Service is friendly. The place is clean. Whilst there we had macaques come and visit and a colourful snake. The river trips are among the best. Boats were smaller than many others and our guides seemed much better able at spotting the wildlife. We saw orangutans, crocodiles, Pygmy elephants, macaques, proboscis monkeys, reptiles, hornbills, kingfishers and much more. It was a brilliant two days which the kids will never forget.

Good food. Friendly. Quiet. No tv or WiFi. Great opportunities to see wildlife on the river. Crocs, all kinds of monkeys, orangutans, birds, lizards. We missed seeing the elephants. Wine is super expensive. Friendly. Water pressure bad. Eco friendly.
