An eco-friendly lodge nestled along the riverbank of Kinabatangan river the longest and biggest river in Sabah. The Lower Kinabatangan is one of Sabah's most splendid natural treasures and the richest concentration of wildlife in South East Asia. The lodge has 12 rooms with an additional twin-sharing handicapped friendly room equipped with air-condition and attached bathroom. Appreciate the "Green" details practise by the lodge where at night all electrical items run on solar power.
This is a fantastic lodge. The accommodation is in keeping with the rainforest. Comfy beds, good showers and air con included. Not crowded with tourists. The food is fantastic with something for everyone! Service is friendly. The place is clean. Whilst there we had macaques come and visit and a colourful snake. The river trips are among the best. Boats were smaller than many others and our guides seemed much better able at spotting the wildlife. We saw orangutans, crocodiles, Pygmy elephants, macaques, proboscis monkeys, reptiles, hornbills, kingfishers and much more. It was a brilliant two days which the kids will never forget.

Good food. Friendly. Quiet. No tv or WiFi. Great opportunities to see wildlife on the river. Crocs, all kinds of monkeys, orangutans, birds, lizards. We missed seeing the elephants. Wine is super expensive. Friendly. Water pressure bad. Eco friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights mid March, 2018. It was exactly as described, a lovely clean nature lodge which exceeded our expectations. It provided everything we needed in a stunning rainforest environment beside the river. Walter was super helpful and the buffet style food was good, as well as plentiful. Cabins were more than comfortable with aircon, ceiling fans and hot showers. The river cruises were a highlight, saw orangutans, crocs, monkeys and plentiful birdlife. Unlucky this visit with sighting pygmy elephants, but not through want of trying from Walter. A pleasure to witness this beautiful part of the world. Loved every minute. Need to be prepared for the shameful destruction of the rainforests. Shocking amount of habitat has been destroyed to accommodate the…

I stayed two-nights in March 2018 and wish I could have stayed so much longer. The wildlife was out of this world. I saw in the wild: orangutans, tons of horn-bills, short and long-tailed macaques, proboscis monkeys and so much more. They have the absolute best and most informative guides. I was paired with Kurt (Eryanto) and I have never learned so many fascinating environmental and wildlife facts in my life. The lodge is super eco-conscious and actually puts their money where their mouth is in terms of practices. Finally, the food was good and variety buffet style.

The accommodation is basic but clean and airconditioned. There is hot water in the shower. The meals are very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The standout is the discovery trips on the river. We went out several times each day to watch orangutans, monkeys, crocodiles, birds and pygmy elephants in the wild. Absolutely fantastic.

Very nice on-site restaurant, clean, comfortable rooms with working air-conditioning, plenty of hot water in shower. The guides knew where to take us for birding and were helpful in all respects, from start to finish. A good value.

We went out on morning and afternoon boat trips which was nice to cruise the river. We saw several species of birds, heard monkeys, and saw a couple types of monkeys, and a crocodile. One day we walked around the small village across the river, but it was just a few houses, a run down mosque, and a couple street seller. Not much to see.

Stayed here for one night, and loved it, would stay here a little longer if I came again. Loved getting there by boat, we were greeted by super friendly staff and made to feel so comfortable. Food was excellent, accommodation was comfortable if a little basic (run by solar so lights etc.will go out at a certain time) but it didn't matter, you are there for the wildlife. Our tour down river was brilliant, we saw different primates, snakes and birds, learnt so much about the wildlife of Borneo, didn't catch sight of the pygmy elephant but seeing orangutans in their natural environment was jaw dropping.

We stayed there for 3D2N and had a really pleasant stay with a lot of wildlife. The lodges are nice and the food was great. Read some comments about the low standard in the lodges. We came for the wildlife and did not expect any spa lodges and if you have the same expectations then you would not be disappointed. The staffs are also very service minded and kind. The manager Walter also spoke perfect English which was helpful when we had questions. We learned a lot about the nature and animals in the area during our stay. If you want to see wildlife at its finest then Kinabatangan river is a perfect choice!

Enjoyed staying here for 1 night in October. Staff very friendly and welcoming, facilities basic (as you would imagine for the location) food was surprisingly good. A/C goes off after 10 pm but I was so tired I hardly noticed. We were lucky with the weather but bring waterproofs just case.
