room is good, service not bad, but the location...we find it really hard to find the location of this hotel. i booked this hotel because the price is quite cheap, but i didn't check the location. i think it's quite new hotel in a quite developed area, not in the centre of Sandakan.

Stayed there last weekend. Rooms are very cheap considered that it's a new hotel with its own coffee house next door. Free parking on the street. Free and fast wifi. Only contention is the hot water for the shower isn't hot. Anyway, it's a 2 storey hotel so the rooms upstairs can be rather hot due to the roof being just above your room's ceiling. So choose a room on the ground floor to be cooler. The aircons are new, work very well. Beds are comfortable, the lady boss is friendly and very chatty. Ask her for directions to the best eating places! I got directions from her to buy dried seafood like fish maw, salted fish, dried squid. Overall, worth to stay here. Comfortable hotel.

I went to Sandakan for a short trip and decided to stay at My Dream hotel because of the cheap price. I was expecting a basic room but I surprised to see the room, comfortable and very fast wifi.

The only thing that I dont really like about the room is,it was too noisy and we can actually hear people slamming the door, people walking outside and at night it was very noisy because there's a bar just next to the hotel. Overall its a nice hotel but just too noisy for me.

I checked in and entered my room, noticed there was no bathroom. Counter lady said this is a shared bathroom. Fine! I requested to change room and i'll pay for the extra. Unfortunately, All rooms are occupied! I told her your booking didn't state "SHARED BATHROOM". She said it did.

I went back and double check my booking. Under the few booking titles, I booked STANDARD QUEEN and not STANDARD QUEEN ROOM WITH SHARED BATHROOM. However, STANDARD QUEEN is actually the same as STANDARD QUEEN ROOM WITH SHARED BATHROOM!! This is so misleading, by using such method to increase their booking rates! If you want to look for that TINY shared bathroom with TINY logo, you have to click the room and then scroll all the way down to the bottom and there you are. Who the hell wanna read every single of amenities. This hotel is trying to mislead and fool customers to increase its business.

Besides, the picture in the Shared bathroom shows there is a hair dryer. Misleading to the top. No HAIR DRYERS are available for those who book under SHARED BATHROOM!

Secondly, the pub which is just right below the hotel. Probably it was the weekend or a holiday? The karaoke volume is up to its max listening to amateurs sing, Well free music for u! Starting from early nights probably 2200 PM? till 0100 AM they'll turn the karaoke session to a head banging loud bass 90's music disco. Yes, i just mentioned DISCO. It ends at sharp 0400 AM. YES, because i was awake until it ends! The music was horrible and the low class head banging retard can only bear with such low class music!

Third, thin walls and doors! people walking pass at the corridor can be heard like there's no walls. doors banging loudly and people talking along the way. Fine, this i can bear but those i mentioned above? I'll let you decide.

P/S: Look at the photos i share below and the confirmation email from Agoda.

I was awaken at 2 am by the people who banged the door and the loud music from somewhere i dont know. There were people who were shouting too :(

Too crazy, too loud, too annoying even the room was nice and clean. Even we enjoyed the day visiting the sipilok which cost us RM 80 by taxi return from the hotel. But during our stay, i really got disturbed by this loud music, loud screaming drunk people and loud door banging. Too bad.

I had to make a business trip to Sandakan (4D3N) and my usual hotel was full due to a Sabah Teachers Sports Carnival. My company checked me into this new hotel. The hotel is new (less than a year) and so the "new" feel is still there. For a Corporate rate of RM100 per night I have nothing to complain.

I love the bathroom as it was well design and functional. As for the bedroom, I wished they had engaged an interior designer who is competent in saving space. This is because the designed and placement of the various furniture in the small room (King Deluxe) left very much to be desired especially if the guests goes back after a drinking session. The many sharp corners protruding out could be very dangerous if a guest was to fall down.

Overall a decent hotel. Cheers

Small room with shower room and toilet which was good - we had upgraded as I had originally thought we had booked a room with a bathroom. The booking was confusing. There was no cold water available and no tea and coffee provided though there was a kettle. The area was out of the way fortunately this was ok for us as we had a day to prepare for a safari. Not somewhere I would stay again. Not much service offered at all.

On one of my Sabah road trips, I had booked My Dream Hotel online... based on the cheap rate, I was not expecting much. The location was in the new Sandakan town which I have yet to explore. Making more stops that planned from our Semporna to Lahad Datu then Sandakan route, we made it to the hotel at 10pm. Upon check in, I was immediately impressed by the warm greeting and service attended by the receptionist on duty. I was more delighted when I entered the room to see an extremely cosy and most important, clean hotel room. Pillows, sheets and towels exceeded my expectations for a hotel room with this kind of rate. The toilets were also clean and offered the basics which I was not too bothered with as I always carry my own toiletries. There was a coffee maker in the room and a flat screen TV with decent channels, including HBO! WiFi connection was fast (hence why I can write this review tonight)...

Another bonus, the hotel is just a walking distance from local eateries with a range of delights... some open 24 hours. Also a McDonalds very near by which was perfect for those like myself after being spoiled with the wonderful Sabah sea food for almost a week.

I highly recommend this hotel, especially to those travellers with own transportation to travel to the main Sandakan town center.

Only drawback (depending how you see things) is the size of the room... rather small as so were the beds. But that's my kind of hotel... cosy.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms. I don't think they have elevators for those travellers with heavy luggage

Location is good because it's nearby to restaurants and shops. They offer complimentary snacks and tea in their restaurant. The receptionist is very friendly and informative. However, the mobile network signal is weak around the area for some reason but I'm good because they offer free wifi.
