    Hi, You can exchange money some before you travel. Then the rest you can exchange at the money changer. Best is to bring cash with you incase you need to grab a cab to your hotel or buy some food while on the way travelling.

    Yes as mentioned above, the island is well protected by the armed escorts. From the time you board the boat from Sandakan to the Island, the escort services are there. And the island is guarded 24 hours.
