Ive had a really great time at Sandakan Backpackers Hostel! As soon I entered, all the staff was great and very welcoming! They also gave me a detailed information about the city, things to do around and helped me to book my trip. The toilets and the whole place was very clean. I really enjoyed chilling on the tarrace with the seaview. Id definitely recommend this hostel for other travellers.
We stayed 2 nights after our hiking adventure. Thanks to the amazing and passionate team that the stay is being so perfect. Nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend if you're staying in Sandakan. Thank you guys for your hardwork ^^ Continue to be passionate on what you are doing.
I stayed for 2 nights in this comfortable and clean hostel. Very impressed by those beautiful artwork on the wall which done by the guests. Staffs are very friendly and helpful especially Audrey :D Highly recommended!!
This is probably the nicest hostel I have stayed at - the walls are covered in artwork, there is a lovely roof terrace to relax on, sea views, and the staff are just wonderful! They helped us book a trip on the Kinabatangan river, and when we came back and had a few hours to kill before our fight they let us hang out in the hostel (even though we hadn't paid for that night), gave us a spare key card and even let us take a shower! The price for a private double room was also pretty reasonable, we thought, and the breakfast that was included was better than in the hostel we stayed at in KL. We had toast, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, jam spreads and peanut butter, as well as tea and coffee. The only issue we had was the terrible WiFi, which pretty much refused to work after the…
Reception girls were lovey, always kind. Was greeted with a friendly smile by all. Sadly my smile left me when I learned that the cost was 35 MYR + tourist tax which was “split between members of the room” but of you check in before everyone else you’ll pay a higher proportion especially if the room is more empty. This system sucks. The basic cost of the room is incredibly high for what you get: marginal wifi that hardly works, basic breakfast, dorm with AC but only small lockers for valuables. Few plugs in the rooms. I have stayed at better hostels for lower cost, I wouldn’t have paid more then 25 MYR for this place. At this price I didn’t stay another night and I left.
