We stayed two nights in one of the Junior Suites. Great views out over the city. Room was spacious, well appointed and clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. However there were a few 'Asian' anomalies such as the kettle having a 2 pin round plug and power socket was a 3 pin square?? and the main shower didn't...

I have had some nice experience and some frustrating experiences with hotels. I am glad to say I was really glad I chose Sandakan Hotel for this trip with my whole family. We arrived well before noon and with all our baggage find it uncomfortable to get around so we tried our luck and the man at the reception by...

Just stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Sandakan while visiting the wildlife sanctuaries in nearby Sepilok. The hotel is very good value, with nice big, clean rooms, although the decor is fairly dated. It is well located for local restaurants, shops and the local bus station. Although there really is nothing to do in the town! Good buffet breakfast. Nice...

The hotel is positioned right near the center of town, meaning you can walk easily to many attractions. The building itself is a bit old and dated, however it was clean and quiet. Although when I opened the small fridge it smelt like it had not been opened in years, and the views are not great. I opted for the...

We spent three nights at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is quiet and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. While the hotel is a touch dated, it is very clean and quiet which for us was fantastic. We slept better there than we have in many hotels and for us that is a huge bonus....

This hotel is fine for its purpose. We stayed here after doing an Amazing Borneo tour, so it was nice to stay somewhere with a proper bed and shower. Restaurant was fine for the evening, but very picked through in the morning for breakfast. Staff at front desk very unfriendly. Good value for money and good location. Just don't expect...

A good hotel to spend a night or two in Sandakan. There's nothing special about the hotel, but the rooms are fine, clean, a bit like spending a night in a tired Travel Lodge really. I arrived very early so was pleased that my room was ready to go. I was in a room on the 6th floor, there's no...

The hotel is the second best in Sandakan. It is dated, but clean. Rooms are comfortable, we had a room with 2 single beds, old TV with a few channels, Bathrooms clean and toiletries are provided. Breakfast was included. It was a mix of Malay and continental. Some cereals, bread, jam, eggs, butter, coffee, tea and juices were available. Very...
