We stayed 1 night in a harbour/sea facing room. The hotel is small, basic and is comfortable. It is located near many seafood restaurants by the sea. What we liked most was that it is located next to the market which had a large variety of vegetables, fruits, local delicacies and meat too.
At sunrise, we could see the fishing boats with their fresh catch of the day. Truly an amazing experience!
The guy at reception is really friendly and helpful. He helped look after our bags overnight when we went for an overnight trip elsewhere.
We also liked the water dispenser at reception as we could refill our water bottles here.

This hotel is still very new so the amenities are all working great. I hope it will not be stricken with the Malaysian malaise of things breaking down after two years. The corridors are narrow and the room is small but with a very comfortable solid bed. There is a soft ambiance about the room but since the room is not for hanging around it does not really matter, but still worth mentioning. There is free wifi in the room with the usual coffee and tea complimentary from the hotel. The hot shower works perfect and so does the air-condition. If you are a photographer, you would like the idea that the local market is just in front across the road. Wake up early to shoot the fishermen bringing in their catch and displaying them for buyers by the pier behind the market. The location is great if you want to look for local day tours or a guided tour into the Kinabatangan River. Restaurants are a plenty around this hotel. Just behind the hotel is a Mall which is new but looks lifeless of business activity. I would return to stay in this place if I am around Sandakan.

Good place to stay! Near the centre, at the waterfront, you step outside and you can go anywhere. It looks all new, bedroom was clean but no WiFi signal in the other side of the room. Price is good though! Cant complain about that.

The hotel is extremely old and badly in need of renovation. The reception staff told me this was due to happen shortly but I can’t confirm if it’s true. The room was very small, no fridge, chair or anything other than a bed. The windows did not close properly. The air conditioning was loud and smelly. The bathroom was smelly and old. The bedsheets and towels were filthy. Very noisy at night. The hotel is located in a good place and if you’re desperate for somewhere for 1 night it will suffice. Other than that, look elsewhere.

Good position, CHEAP, CLEAN, small, small window had a view of the harbour, weird bathroom setup, mixed up our booking on check in but got it right in the end, foyer smells like the fish market across the road. For the price and cleanliness you can't go wrong!
