We spent three weeks here from January to mid-February, where my husband, a keen ornithologist, saw over 100 different wild bird species in the resort alone. We also saw monkeys, many species of butterflies and squirrels, and other wildlife within the very extensive grounds which border a National Park. I very much enjoyed swimming in the 30 meter long pool...

The food at the centre made up for the poor accommodation. The amenities are reasonable. Don't think much of their stagnant pound; great breeding place for mosquitoes. Their animal husbandry lacked real duty of care. Take a break on the wild side.

We had a few unfortunate experiences, but the place did try to accommodate us. I'd warn people against accepting rooms right over the water. The one we were first shown had a pretty strong smell of mold or mildew. Fortunately, they were able to move us. There is lots for children to do. Internet is available only in one public...

On arrival the rooms where not prepared, plastic with bugs on top still on the beds, room not aired had musty smell. The aircon should have been stitched on and the windows opened. We arrived with over thirty people all pre booked well in advanced. No bar open, by a few beers at the reception, hours later the empty cans...

This resort is beautifully situated in the Lambir Hills, 4km off the public road and surrounded by nature. The private, security-controlled access road is decent, but unsurfaced for more than half its length, which I think it would be good to highlight to visitors. Our room (in a chalet over the water) was spacious, well-appointed and tastefully furnished, but did...
