Detailed Reviews
I booked Mega hotel just because Pullman and Marriott were fully booked. Suddenly the beds appeared to be even better than in those network hotels. Can't say that breakfast was very good, but at least I did not have to wait for my omelette in a queue. Reasonable price for reasonable comfort. Parking in the basement has no lift, so you need to send your luggage first and then park the car. Location is just as good as it is absolutely possible - opposite of Ming cafe

Stayed here for a night. Room was decent. Got a room with 2 single beds though I requested for a large bed and was informed my request was available. Also needs a bit of a clean up behind the table lamps, quite dusty.
Location wise, quite convenient. Fair distance to malls, convenience stores, food street markets.

One Thing I would like to say about this "Homely" Hotel, it still one of the best you can ever find within the Miri City. I had stayed here on several occasions mostly for business purposes. Even my Business associates can find me easily if I'm staying here. I cannot compare it to a world class 5 stars rating hotel, but in my opinion this hotel does not need go into the international level to provide what is a necessity to the customers like me. Clean, big rooms middle low pricing for the fact, I can really recommend it to most of my friends when they come to visit MIRI. Not only they have very beautiful receptionists that dress up like the Air Stewardess, don't believe me? you guys can go and take a look see for yourselves. I'm born from Kuching and I'm not raise from the Jungle nor we Lived in trees, I own a Company, which I think it's not need to go into detail. We are Sarawakians and are proud to be one. We have Timbers and many Rich Resources and have the many capabilities more than "others" can imagine. Please do not Make fun of us or our cultures. That's all i can say for now. Have a Great day!!

We really liked this hotel. Ideally located right in the middle of town, a short walk to everything you need.
It's an older hotel, 80's I guess (pre cellphone, no plugs by the bed 🤣) but that's not a bad thing. It's well maintained & our room was huge! Very clean, comfortable bed, good a/c, & decent bathroom. TV has only a few channels, but that doesn't matter. The breakfast buffet was excellent, lots of choices with western & local dishes; even Sarawak Laksa (but that wasn't great TBH). Very good value too. Would definitely stay again 👏👍😎

This is my second time Stayed at Mega Hotel, their room rates are the best price than others Hotel. this time I got upgraded room from Superior to Deluxe, Thanks to Dorathy!
The room is really bigger but better if they could do upgrade in their rooms, the system like A/C is old school but the condition working fine..
the balcony all the way my room was smelly, stinked carpet..
The houskeeping request was fast,
The F.O I went to Reception to asked for printing service nd was there is FO Evana was the friendlies staff there, she treated us like friend..her customer service was excellent nd should have at every hotel like her..was read the review a lot about her too, she deserved our thumb up..
The F&B I was told that if bill charge to room they will charged you another Rm3 and the staff were not so friendly. Hey Evana please help them more like you.
Last but not the least, Mega Hotel is the best in Miri! and of course will be my home whenever I come visit again

This hotel called "MEGA" which means "HUGE" ... and it is really huge ... wide spacious lobby area and the rooms . Stayed at the deluxe room ,... and the room really deluxe with a king bed , newly refurbished and a lot space in the room . It is also well located at city center . Walking distant to river banks where you can find the famous "sarawak cake" shop . It is also near to food stalls where you can dine.. especially " nasi ayam lelapan " . Will come back here again !

I first stayed here in 2009 for two weeks, and again in 2010 before making my recent trip to Miri on the 20th June 2012. What I like about the Mega Hotel is its location and what can be found in the vicinity. Banks are within walking distance, there are food stalls open at night across the road.
Rooms are spacious, comes with TV, complimentary coffee and tea and free wifi. Please ask for the wifi password when you check-in. There is a nice Chinese restaurant on level 4 as well as a coffee house on the ground floor. There is also a 24-hour convenience shop just outside while a gymnasium is located on level 11.
The hotel isn't new, however, and on my last stay I could smell rust in the water from the sink in Room 1411. I hope something could be done about it.
Anyway, do enjoy the pool. It is located on the 4th floor. Since it overlooks the Miri Anchorage and the South China Sea, the best time to be there is from 5pm through 7pm when the pool closes. This is when I normally bring my camera with me to take shots of the setting sun.

We stayed here for one night on he return from Mulu. Chose the hotel because of the very convenient location. Wherever you are in Miri, it is easy to spot.
When I booked the room a few days ahead, I was first offered a room for 280 MYR. I called back five minutes later to confirm, but then the price was dropped to 197MYR, which was a good deal. Spacious rooms with good view..
The service was mostly good, except when we entered the crowded restaurant for breakfast at 9.45am. A strickt looking woman welcomed us with the words: "You have 15 minutes for your breakfast!". And at 10.00am a not too clever band started practice in the floor just abouve the restaurant. I don't know if it was to scare away the late customers, but it worked for us. The breakfast is by the way aimed at a Chinese clientelle.

Stayed 2 nights in the deluxe double room on the 9th floor. Reservation was made via direct calling to the hotel, process was smooth & fast. There’s an ongoing promotion at RM210nett per room per night. There are 4 sides to the hotel and rooms go round on all sides, you can get seaview from one of the sides.
Pros:
- Located right in Miri city centre, within walking distance to Miri handicraft centre, imperial mall & bintang megamall (though imperial hotel & meritz hotel are right on top of the respective malls), just diagonally across from Ming Café (a very popular café in miri) and lots of shops for food, massage, etc
- Big room with big bed
- Free parking with a basement carpark with direct access to the hotel
- Free wifi, free breakfast (items are adequate, mainly Asian)
- Large pool on the 4th floor
Cons:
- Deferred maintenance noted everywhere on everything and things looked like they are from the 80s
- Pillows are flat, blanket & towels are thin
- Gym has just 4 equipment
- No money changer around the hotel, you have to go to the malls
- Staffs are generally friendly, but dont seems to have much knowledge on places/attractions we (tourists) can visit in miri
- Treatment to guests not standardised, I (a chinese) was with 2 friends (an American & an Indian), all 3 of us didnt have our breakfast voucher with us, but I'm the only one who was asked to provide my voucher
- Although we stayed for 2 nights, our card keys were only activated for 1 night and all of us couldnt get into our rooms the next day (after 12pm - checkout time). Similarly, parking voucher for the car and breakfast voucher were only given for the 1st day.
