stayed coz it was located near to a place i had to go to work and also near to the airport. money for value is good, basically you are paying for what it is worth. nothing much about the area around this hotel, but if you had a early flight to catch and prefer to save $$$ staying here would be a great option.

We stay here last time just because all hotel at miri was full. The service is good ,the room is clean and well maintained. If you come to Miri to shop,this place is far from the city so it's a con from the shoppers .

Stay overnight to catch flight on the next day morning.Near to the airport. Clean room. No smell but the hotel is quite old. Got hot shower. Got normal tv channel. Bed was stiff. Ok for backpackers. Was staying at the single queen room. Rm74/night

Just out of town this is an older hotel well past its glory days, but it is still clean with all the modern ameniteis that make for a comfortable stay. quiet with plenty of parking or easy access to taxi. Good value for money

I have not had the pleasure of staying at this hotel; however, Mr. Raymond, the assistant manager, went out of his way to help me when my car broke down near his hotel. After seeing the efforts he put in to help a stranger, I would be confident he would ensure an excellent stay for any guests at his hotel, and I will be sure to steer customers his way. Give the hotel a try!!

just because it's near to the airport and i always take the late flight from kuching before crew change offshore in the next day. far from town area. it's quiet & i need that for good sleep. pillows are too thin, same with blankets.

Booked 3 rooms, but one of the rooms had a smelly toilet due to no ventilation and dirty shower curtain. Caught a cockroach too. Avoid if you get such rooms. The other two rooms were slightly cleaner though.

1. Air conditioner did not work properly. 2. Pillow is too thin and smelled musty. 3. Sheets and blankets are still blood stains and smells musty. 4. Socket does not work. 5. Smelly and dirty bathrooms, and the floor of the room was very slippery & the windows very dusty. If you people plan to stay in there, you can found the dust in every part of the room. This is the first and last time I stayed at Telang Usan Hotel Miri, will not return to this hotel for the second time even though they will offered a very low price. Cleanliness was failed.

having stayed at sister hotel in Kuching was looking forward to similar, boy what a shock. Staff were indifferent and it certainly felt like we were an inconvenience to them. The room was indescrible, it looked very cheap and nasty, hadn't had a proper clean in ages, couldn't bring myself to use the shower it was that bad, the air cond. didn't work, (only blew slightly cool air), couldn't wait to check out next day, had planned on staying a week. Certainly must have changed since the last lot of reviews

My family and I consisting of 5 members went to Miri, Sarawak on last 23rd April-25th April for a funtime. I was in-charge of the accomodotian. At first, we planned to have a backpakers hotel package since it is cheaper and more practical for us. Being in anxiety yet excitement, I called the management of Telang Usan Hotel 5 days before arrival. The reason why I choose it is initially because of the uniqueness of the name. When I've started dealing with the manager, I found out the hotel offered me the best price ever which no other else would dare to give. The hotel offered us RM60 for a family room. I was so shocked and undoubtedly we choose this hotel to stay in for 2 nights. Upon arrival at the airport, the hotel had managed a shuttle van of the hotel itself to bring us to the hotel. We were really happy because it is free of charge and the staffs are really friendly. They helped us a lot. Meeting the manager is a wonderful experience; a young and vibrant man, willing to help and in fact he himself accompanied us around Miri. The rooms are very clean and no one could believe that we managed to secure it for only RM60. It's a spacious room with a queen bed, a single bed, a cosy toilet with a bathtub, a sofa set and a television set. I think if I bring along my little niece, she can run around the room. On the second day, we were given free breakfast and a nice chit-chat session with the manager and staffs. As for its location, it is quite far from the city as we have to get the city by bus or taxi. Initially, we had a mind to change hotel. But, after thinking it over, if we stay around the city, we would never have the experience to explore Miri at out best. Taman Awam Miri, a famous recreational area in Miri is located a stone's miles away from our hotel that we only had to walk. It's very nice to have a family walking day early in the morning and we had the experience being driven by the manager to Piasau where a vase factory is located and Kg Melayu, Miri. Furtjermore, the hotel is very near to Tanjung, a nice beach where we enjoyed seeing people fishing. Choose Telang Usan as you will never regret!!I still keep in contact with the manager until today.
