As of Sept 2016, the hotel was still under renovation. They are currently upgrading the rooms. As such, make sure you book the 'Deluxe' rooms for the newly upgraded ones. Great deal for the price paid (Room 210). Room is clean, cosy & TV channels are pretty adequate. I had a really short stay (just 24 hours) to attend a wedding. Shampoo+soap provided. Ironing board available on request. I did not check for a hairdryer in my room as I brought my own. Close to spots like shopping mall, eateries, mini marts. Easy for you to find supplies. The streets are pretty quiet in this area at night, as I was told by a local. Can be a little noisy at night as there is a cafe/bar/live band right in the hotel at the back. I'm not disturbed much by the sound. And I was very glad my room had block-out blinds. Would definitely consider coming back if I'm in Miri. …
since as the comment as last review, i really go to this hotel and give it a try since really saw the new room renovated as they post online. 1st sight might think that the hotel not so tidy from the outlook, but when get inside the room its totally diffrent from the outlook. for this business trip it was good for me to stay at this hotel, the new room really make me fell comfort . im sure that i will come back again for this hotel.
This inn had no good reviews at all. Recently I saw a posting in FB that they had done some renovation to the rooms. Coincidentally I need to be in Miri for 2 nights in June. When I called to make a room booking, I was told that the newly renovated rooms' rates are slightly higher than the non-renovated rooms. I decided to try the new renovated room. When I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff at the reception. Room allocated at 2nd floor & was very skeptical when I hear loud noise came from the lounge at the side of the inn but the staff convinced me it would not affect me. True to her word, the noise was tolerable. The room was clean & equipped with the basic necessities. As I didn't go out that night, I stayed in the room & watched tv. There are quite good tv channel selections though. The wifi strength was quite strong. I was able to watch YouTube using my iPad. The shower pressure was good. The bed was comfortable & I had good night sleep for that 2 nights. There are power point at both sides of the bed so that's a plus factor to me. There is no elevator here. It's quite inconvenient if u have big, heavy luggage. The staff are genuinely friendly but it could be better if they are send to acquire hospitality etiquettes. On my last day of staying, I was having a meeting & it dragged till almost mid day when the staff called me to remind me to check out at 12 pm. Being a frequent travellers, I find this annoying because it was before 12 pm. Management should invest in their human capital as this inn is a good place to stay. Will I be staying here again? Perhaps not. Why u may asked? The reminder call to check out was a turn off for me. …
Just as title says, THIS IS A LEGIT TOILET. If there is a way more disgusting place that I can describe it it should be an untreated sewage system infested with maggots and smells like roadkill carcass. If that's your thing than please have a stay, you will be impressed....
Definitely the worst hotels I have stayed in in my life. Had to stay a night in Miri on 12th June and most hotels were fully booked except this one. So my dad and I decided to stay a night here. To my horror, the room's lock didn't work, there 5 freaking strains of hair on my pillow and was screaming my lungs out when a cockroach was found on my bed as well trying to crawl onto me.. the toilet and bathroom were old and not maintained. The sound of the lounge below was loud and clear (the receptionist told us that wouldn't be a problem as the sounds won't be heard upstair which was a total lie). And worse, my dad even found bed bugs on his bed. We decided to check out immediately eventhough we have paid for the deposit. The whole place stink and have this heavy smoke smell, even the corrirdor and stairs stink. I am pretty sure Miri has much much better hotel than this one. and having paid RM80 for this kinda standard really made me feel that it's totally not worth this price AT ALL. No refund was made, of course. We have expected that and didn't mind as we need a place where we can have a good night sleep not suffering with all the bed bugs. And as mentioned by a reviewer, they used the same excuse "already key in the system". I hope the owner can see this and hope that something can be done. Seriously don't know if they can continue on doing business with this sort of standard and charging people to stay in rooms with such terrible situation. I've learned my lesson to always check the room first before paying. Bad hygiene, noisy, and totally need more maintenance work to be done. Such a pity it has one of the good location, Too bad.…
Went with a friend dorm to Miri and was looking for a place to sleep. Palace inn looked ok from the outside so we decided to give it a try since room was only rm89 a night. Went into the room, asked to change to another room cos the condition was so terrible, at the end paid for the room but checked out same night. The room looked like a scene from a horror movie. No refunds can be given back the reason being 'it's already in the system'. Never ever gonna recommend this place unless they do a major maintenance and refurbishing.
I booked this place for my travelling trip to miri. The staff they are quite helpful but they need major fix on the room. The location wise is quite decent as it walking distance to the city. I bunk in one of the room and a major turn down after seing the room state. Water leaking in the bathroom, toilet bowl are not clean... oh my...i think they need help from tv show "Hotel Impossible" to help them up. charging RM75 per night is a bit nuisance with the room condition. The aircond is working but you need to bear with the noise. The TV reception is not that good as well.
Positives: 1. Location not that far from main city shopping complex 2. Cheap 3. Free WiFi 4. Friendly staff Negatives: 1. Smelly damp and moist bedrooms 2. No elevators 3. Dirty rooms 4. Dirty utensils in rooms 5. Dirty water (brownish) 6. Old and stained rooms 7. Tv with local channels only (blur and no signal) 8. Electrical socket uncovered, exposed and not working 9. Insecure environment 10. Dirty bedsheets 11. Pillows probably 10-20 years old 12. Wall pictures probably 20-30 years old Many more negatives which I'm just too tired to write down. The only reason I stayed here for the night is because all other hotels in Miri at this end of year time are fully booked!
The rooms were smelly and damp. Pretty much everything was broken. It was our first night in Malaysia but I feel that it was way overpriced for what it was.
We are here for one night at this moment before going to Mulu park. We chose this because we wanted an affordable option with attached bathroom. We even checked the room before check-in. However, we did not check thoroughly. The bathroom is really dirty, water comes out of the toilet all the time. The worst thing is noise: the neighbour's A/C sounds like a very old fridge standing beside your bed. The karaoke club opened at about 8 PM and seems to become louder every hour. It is 10:45 PM now and it is not possible for me to sleep.
