My room was average in size with adjoining balcony looking towards the main gate. The room & amenities is what you would expect for an inn in this price range. The parking spaces is very limited. Bintang Megamall is just behind the inn and within 2 minutes of walking from the inn. Since I spent more time out from my room, this option was okay for a short trip in the city.
Room condition has depleted. Ants everywhere. Flooring is unkempt. Towels are stiff not like it used too. Only switched on the water when told to do so. Not like the first few weeks it was opened 3 4 years back.
When we arrive, the stuffs are playung badminton on the front yard. Upon check in, you only need to pay for the room and no deposit. Once I step into the room, the first thing i notice is the dusty table and dusty television. Bathroom is clean. The room has a stale air smell. Light is not bright enough giving the room eery feel. I turn on the toilet light because I don't like superdark room when sleep, but arnd midnight, the toilet light start to flicker. So i have to switch it off and turn on the tv instead. Next morning i bath with the door open because the light is still flickering. Will not consider coming here again though. The good thing is they have their own parking space for the guest.
Overall the experience in my stay at Garden Inn was ok. The first night i was offered a double occupancy room due to rooms running full. Room was clean. Had movie channels. Bathroom and bed was clean and decent. Wifi connection very fast. But for the second day, when i requested for a single occupancy room, i was given a room on the first floor, which i later regretted. The room had stale air, was dusty, bathroom was dirty and there was cigarette butts behind the TV and tons of ashes scattered on the carpet. Perhaps the housekeeping was on leave that day ? :) or perhaps it was a bad day. Anyway, i checked out immediately as it was a health hazard. Management should look into keeping single occupancy rooms clean too, after all its just a RM10 difference in price.
Service was very good. The happily staff showed me a number of rooms and offered to lend me an umbrella on my way out when it was drizzling. The rooms at the front of the building face a lovely flower garden. The rooms behind face the Bintang Mega Mall and the aircons are positioned there. I selected a single room with no window for Rm68 to avoid hearing the morning prayers (and I didn't hear a thing). There's a rain shower in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the linen was of 4-star hotel quality. The room rate includes free wifi. No meals available but there's a local cafe beside the inn where you can get breakfast, and other small eateries and the Bintang Mega Mall just behind, and Imperial Mall Shopping Complex is a 5-min walk away.
