A very reasonably priced hotel attached to a mall. Staffs were kind and very accommodating. Good breakfast buffet too! Was there for 2 nights and found it an extremely convenient. Loved the fact that it has a shopping mall attached to it so if I ever need anything it's so easy to get it.

From the beginning till the end, we experienced the worst. Went checked in and took us almost 20 mins. We arrived in our room, and I found a pack of unsealed condom on the floor and some trash. The bathroom towel has an awful odour. When we booked this place on the website, it said breakfast are included but when we arrived, we were told by the lady that we need to pay 76RM. It's not about the price. It's not like what we expected from the website. Never again we will waste our time and money here.

No alocated parking for hotel guests, elevators sharing with the mall, everyone using elevators to carpark from Lobby to basement, elevators always pack, lastly everyone can access to the while floor of the hotel (no security). And noisy neighbour in the middle of the night which keeping me awake all mid night 🥲 Got first room with hot air conditioning, so we changed another room. Staff are nice and friendly.

Paid RM421/nite/room for 1 family room of 2 bedroom with 1 king bed for each bedroom. However, upon check in at 2pm, given a room of 1 king + 2 single bed which price is lower(RM370 if not wrong) at level 13. Means, downgrade. I demand for room change and the front lady nicely rearrange it to level 10. Room at level 13 come with sink, 12 bottle of complimentry drink, nice room layout but my new room at level 10 was huge but feel so empty and feel likes unoccupied for long time.Nothig is special and not impressive at all.Even complimentary drink water only 8 bottle (moma).Got stain on the floor carpet( could it be blood, chocolate drink or curry? i dont know), dusty table, hot water problem. tv in the bedroom is just for show/deco as no channel. Sorry to say that I was so disappointed woth my experience. the room totally did not meet my expectation. I still think that room at 13 with lower rice was better. Call front desk 2x ask them to arrange for technician to fix the tv & hot water.only come at 8pm but nothing has been solve except for hot water which i believe solve by its own (open the tap for 5 minutes, it will hot by itself)..He offer for room changes which i happily agreed but it didnt happen until check out. Doubtfully " King bed" was too small for 2 adult + 1 yr old baby, only 4 towel (yellowish), old mattress & very soft(out of work), dirty cushion, boring 11 tv channel , main door very hard to close, I have to buy dettol spray to live up the room & get rid of the musty smell. Staff is friendly. buffet breakfast also not much choice & not meet my expectation If have to stay here again in future, will not waste money for its family room.

Reserved the standard room for my relatives without breakfast for two nights and the feedback from the stay was excellent . The front desk officers were informative and attentive to all their requests during the stay . The facilities of the hotel were comprehensive where they greatly enjoyed the swimming pool with an awesome City and Sea view as the backdrop . The wide array of shopping and dining options offered by the adjoining mall were the extra bonuses ! All in all , a very enjoyable and relaxing staycation!! A big shoutout to the friendly staff of Meritz Hotel ! Keep up the big smile 😊!!!

The room looked very depressing, even though this hotel isn’t that old. It just shows that the upkeep was really bad. Our room door lock and tv weren’t working and the aircon wasn’t cold at all. We requested to change our room and was luckily granted. The second room had a faulty door handle at the toilet though. The towels were labelled using marker pens, and so were various notices written around the room with marker pen. It looked very improper. Breakfast buffet was limited with poor quality food. Parking at the basement was difficult during shopping hours as the hotel shared a carpark with the adjacent mall. Even the entrance to the hotel from the basement carpark was ambigious. We basically had difficulty locating the lift. Very bad experience and not recommended to stay in. Not worth the RM250 I paid for.

Meritz Hotel is a shadow of its former self. Once, it was dubbed the best hotel in Miri. Now it leaves little to be desired. Even though the hotel is strategically located in the heart of the city, it sure needs a major renovation and clean-up to compete with other hotels in Miri, especially Imperial Hotel.

Request for a room facing pool and the sea view, and also higher floors for better view.Walk in breakfast rate is RM24.00 per person. Room may be quite dim (may request for room with better lighting if it bothers you)

The room was sub-standard. The air conditioning felt like only fan mode despite full blast, few missing items such as tea spoon, tissue, room smelt unpleasant. The room required polishing especially toilet. The hotel should allocate hotel guests car park at basement because very difficult to get one during weekends.

We tried the weekend buffet dinner on a Friday night on level 17 and were very happy with the food and service. The outstanding dishes on the buffet line were the beef brisket with hot pepper sauce. Not only was the pepper sauce hot in the sense of spicy but also served at the right temperature. The salmon carving and salad selection was very good as well. The highlight for me was the roast leg of lamb carving with raisin rice. An excellent creme brulee and cheese cake among other desserts rounded off the meal. At RM 58.00 per person the price was very reasonable. The only drawback were a group of screaming kids which were not reigned in by their parents nor staff. However, this is a typical byproduct of the weekend Brunei crowd. Overall, we still had a most enjoyable meal.
