no lift, have to lug your bags up via the stairs. room is small, barely have extra space to walk after settling in with the bags. Bed infested with bed bugs, I have bites all over my legs spending only 1 night in room 211. Only terrestrial TV, no cable Plus points - bright, quiet, good location, a water station dispensing hot & cold water
My friend and I traveled to Miri and stayed in Venice Inn from 30 Nov to 3rd Dec, 2016. The internet in the hotel is very poor and week. I even can not connect and watch the Youtube from the evening to night. The staff is not friendly enough
The room is quite comfy. But when i check the bedsheet, there's a hole. (some idiot left it there with a cigarette). I know it's small, but lucky you, I'm not whining for small stuff like that (but some may). Still that's dirty though. Then, checking again under the bed there's used cotton bud (yes, USED cotton bud, damn that person's ear is dirty, yellowish af lel). I'm like uh did they clean this place? Then, i checked the jug and two glasses provided because i want to fill the jug with water from the dispenser. I filled the jug. But i changed my mind when i want to drink since the glasses are too dirty to be used by me and my father. Even after i clean those glasses i still can't bring myself up to use it (lel). We end up buying mineral water instead and have a drink somewhere else. Nevertheless, the toilet is quite clean. But no soap/shampoo provided. They did provide body shampoo though. There are 2 shower foam and shampoo dispenser and...guess what? They're empty lel. Guess you should bring it by your own eh? I'm giving you good stars because the price is quite reasonable i guess. Still, there's room for improvement. Yours sincerely, a regular guy from Bintulu.\( ̄▽ ̄)/…
The place is quiet new, cheapest double room is 60rm with a nice toilet and good A/C but not windows, TV (just 2 channels) and Free hot & cold water dispeanser in each floor. Friendly staff at the reception. Nothing to complain. Good job guys!!
[My review here is copied from my review via agoda] Last visit on February 22, 2015 for 1 night of stay. [Coz' of the delay in writing this review, so I can't remember exactly the room no.] Anyway, stayed for just "1" night (One Queen + One Single Bed). Given key to Room; we arrived at appro. 2.30pm to find that our room is not yet clean; hair + pile of dust + bits of paper on the floor, also in the bathroom & the dust left on the small desk is thick enough to write words with a finger. I spoke nicely to one of the housekeeping asking if she could assist to clean up the room while we take our leave and return back at 5pm (we wanted to give her enuf time). She agreed & informed her other colleague to clean up our room instead. Unfortunately, we could hear her colleague replied to her saying "Considered clean already, it's not like the room costs a grand" in Bahasa. We do not want to argue etc. so pretend not to hear it. When we returned at 5pm+, the room is clean; however sadly to say, the toilet flush is not working yet water is dripping from the side of the toilet bowl. Immediately, I went to the counter and the receptionist was nice and courterous enough to apologize and change our room instead (just few rooms apart). Everything was fine in that room; spacious room, clean room, comfort room, clean bathroom, nice wifi, a working aircon BUT till we sleep on the bed during midnight. Both my parents and I can practically feel the springs poking us from inside the bed. Ughhh!! That night's sleep was very unpleasant, sadly to say. The room price for 3 adults stay in a room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed is just average of rest of the inns, I woulda say.…
Inexpensive Accom, nothing to flash, but rooms clean n tidy, flat screen in each room, so something to watch late at night. As long as you are prepared to get out n visit local areas and not remain in your room beyond sleeping then it's good value for money, staff here better n more polite, helpful than in some of the fancier places i've stayed, If you are unlucky enough to get a room close to the Karokee place then it is a pain.
Room was ok in the centre of the town but till 2 am there was extremly loud music from karaoke next door. Despite our complain, hotel stuff didint do enything. So we had sleepless night. Room was clean.
When we arrived the linen on the bed was dirty, but the staff changed it immediately. We had the double with aircon, flat-tv and attached bathroom for 70 RM per night. Free WiFi in the lobby. The waterfront was dried out. Not the safest area. Karaoke-bar next door with really loud and painfull bad music and singers. Couldn't sleep until 2 in the morning. And then a cockroach as big as my hand appeared 50cm away from the bed on the wall. Disgusting. Won't stay there again.
Stayed in the standard room. Wifi is good. Good location with a number of restaurants nearby, also easy to find parking around the area. There's free hot and cold water on each floor (but no cups). There is some cigarette smell but not so irritating for me. The bedsheets seem to be a little old but acceptable for an inn. Staff is friendly but the room we get is different from the one booked due to some system error. Overall, a great value for the price. We got more than what we expected.
We stayed in a family room for three with two adults and two children. As the single bed was big enough we thougt it is not worth paying more for another single bed and dirty sofas. In three person room they only have one dirty chair... Then again, that room is smaller and it we had to keep another big backpack in kitchen. Family room has it's own kitchenette with dining table, but you really cannot cook anything else but rice with a rice cooker. There is also own laundry machine which was a gem after a long day in rainforest! Bathroom is very well sized and even though you wet the whole floor while showering it dries up fast. We think there was a heating in that floor as it was warmer than the other tiled floors... The room was clean when we arrived and it was kept like that all our stay. Only that one chair was pretty disgusting and we used it only for holding another big backpack. But as we didn't go there to sit in that chair we didn't really mind about that. Beds were comfortable BUT there might have been some bedbugs. We cannot be sure though because we spent two days in Lambir Hills (rainforest) and there are all kind of bugs around the city too. Service was excellent and very friendly. After first night we complained about our neighbours who were shouting on the corridor and their room and banging the doors from 3am to 4am. We asked either to change our room or their room but instead they checked the guys out. :) What we didn't like was: 1) Awful cigarette smell in the corridor. Luckily it stayed out of the room. 2) Room got hot during the day as the aircon could not be left on. Make sure you will not have a room on the street side but only the big parking carage side. The street sides are even more hot! 3) We had a cockroach in the room at least the last night... Luckily my husband didn't tell it to me before we had left Sarawak and arrived to peninsula. 4) I had problems falling a sleep at night as there was a bar like 200 meters away and we stayed in the fourth floor and still the music was too loud in our room. This is something to really consider if you are not easy sleeping person. The music really is LOUD. If you have your own car like we had you have to pay for parking between 8am and 5pm, except on Sundays which is free all day. paying parking is like a game as you need scratch the coupon for the right date, year, and time for every 30 minutes you park. :D Compared to prices in Miri Venice Inn is still reasonably priced, no matter about the complaints we have.…
