Booking process was easy and the owner was very responsive and helpful to all our queries. We stayed at the family room which was really spacious and the bathroom is huge. The room has a backyard too, so you could have meals with the family there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great, as the beach is just a step away from the compound. Breakfast is delicious local food & kuih, complete with coffee or tea. We can't wait to go back for a repeat stay in Kijalena!

Stayed for a night. The place is just beside the sea. Room was simple but nice. With Wifi & local style breakfast provided. Pool is big & the view of the sea is just breathtaking. Will come back again sometime soon.

A small inn run by a family. Very nice and clean room. The inn is located in a small fisherman village facing in Penarik Beach thus the locals only comes here over the weekend. On weekdays the beach is empty. Simply divine. During monsoon, you can surf but am not sure how big are the wave. There is a pool and since the inn only have a few units of rooms so the pool is mostly empty. It is narrow and in L shape. Ample parking (free inside the compound). This place is soo laid back, it is worth a revisit. Will be haeading back for sure. ^_^

We didn't want to leave..we had the stretch of clean beach all to ourselves. Kijalena Beach BnB is just perfect for relaxation. I can here the waves pounding the shore from my room's balcony. Pantai Penunjuk is not a tourist spot but a laid back fishing village. The only issue is we got to travel a little bit for meals.

Having never been to Kerteh before, we decided to spend 2 nights here in Kijal for our 10th wedding anniversary as we wanted to catch up with our friends too which we haven’t seen for quite some time. Kijalena surpassed our expectations. The owner went out of her way to make our anniversary a special occasion. Our room was upgraded to the beach view and she decorated the room with flowers and towel origami in the form of swans. The room was clean and the place itself was serene and tranquil. There is a decent size pool in the B&B but with the beach at your doorstep, a stroll along the beach was more than enough to a perfect stay in Kijal.

There isnt much around but some local activities going on within walking distance. The room is decent sized, clean, cable tv is available ;) basic amenities are all provided. Except toothbrush... Swimming by the beach was no possible during our trip was it was quite rough. But the long beach strip was a good walk to enjoy the beach. One thing we looked forward was breakfast it was amazing home cooked meals. If u are looking for a quiet & slow paced retreat this place is perfect.

Went there for a weekend trip with 2 nights stay in November. Just loved the location & the place. Its actually a'house, in which few rooms have been made to cater to those travelers looking for a B&B. The sunrise there was amazing as you could sip tea sitting at the portico watching the sun coming up, right next to the beach with cool wind blowing... The place is big, with ample space for playing & parking. They even had some ducks and my kids just loved playing inside, there is really nothing much else to do... You have to make your own arrangements for lunch / dinner but there are options around with a food court & some restaurants nearby or a mall around 10 kms drive. Note: Just be cautious about open doors / food crumbs in room as you might be just inviting mosquitoes / ants but the owner already warned us in advance & provided the pest spray...

If you're expecting Ritz Carlton luxury & amenities, then don't come here. However, if home comfort, friendly faces, wonderful host, then this is just the place to be. Charming private chalet, quiet and tranquil. The rooms are comfortable, love the pool. The beach is literally steps away, deserted and private. Good for those nothing but bed, beach & food holiday. I look forward to coming back here soon.

This review is quite injustice to Kak Rose and Kijalena. I went there twice but I only write them this one review to sum up both visit. But the fact that I repeated the trip back to Kijalena from the first one in October 2016, will give you the idea of how good this place is. The first trip was just with my wife when we decided to ride from KL to Kijal. Upon confirming that this place is as good as what people said in TripAdvisor and other websites, we came back with the whole family conquering all 3 chalets that they have. Well, that's how good they are. If you are looking for 5 star type of matress, toilet and room design; don't consider to stay here because they are simply not. But if you are looking for a place that has beautiful view and clean beach, warm hospitality and peaceful surrounding then this is the place for you.

Cosy rooms and yummy, home cooked breakfast (local food) by the affable host ; Kak Ros! The rooms were clean and well equiped with satellite TV, small fridge, kettle and drink sachets. The beach was just across the road and although it is a public beach, the stretch in front of Kijalena was very clean and empty. There is also a decent sixed pool overlooking the sea on the property. Kijal is just 20mins away from the town of Cukai where there are plenty of shops and good food places. Highly recommend Kijalena for those who want to kick back and relax.
