Pilau Gemia or Gem Island is a small island resort opposite Pulau Kapas on the east coast. The rooms are fairly basic but adequate however you come here for the snorkelling and turtle watching. The side of the island facing Kapas has shallows between the islands maybe 6m at the deepest point, loads of coral and small to medium black...

Love everything about the resort. We stayed at the water villa and the view is stunning from our balcony. Each unit comes with a rattan swing on the balcony. A lovely read on it is a must! Ohh...and we could see fish from our balcony too as the water is crystal clear. There's no electricity from 2.30pm - 5.30pm as...

We had to take a speed boat from Kuala Terrengannu to get to Gem island (you can only get there via boat). Upon arrival we were greeted by a local islander, and he was kind enough to also help us with our luggages/bags. In this island, there's only one hotel because it is a very small island that's beside another...

Incredible Little Gem; The Villa over the water was magic. We loved the restaurant - great dining prices for an island, fantsatic quality & large servings. Extremely helpful Receptionist- booked a massage for us back on the mainland. Was great for a one night stop over - quick transit from Marang Jetty and because the island was small, you didn't...

We went to pulau gemia as all the other islands were full during our travel dates. It is a small island with only 1 resort which is gems island resort. the beach is beautiful with clear water and you can see the fishes and coral swim underneath. very good for snorkelling. 3 days 2 nights is sufficient to explore this...

View is great, but we were so shocked to check in to a villa which is dirty, with stained on the towel and mattress, and a big spider on the couch (not sure if with their spider eggs too). We were very surprised and dissapointed becoz it seems to have a lot of good review and some even rate the...

2 others friends and I visited Gem Island for the first time. All of us really like the island resort as it is strategically located. Only 20 mins boat ride from Marang Jetty. Crystal clear water and unique rock formation. Resort is a bit run down but very clean. Water pressure in the shower room is somewhat need improvement. Staffs...

The resort is comfortable although it looks slightly run down in general. But there are good effort by the team to ensure everything is functional. The sea facing rooms are amazing, the beds are very comfortable, the food at the restaurant is superb although it is slightly pricey. All in all, it is a good place to spend some time...

I read mixed reviews of Gem Island Resort & Spa, but husband and I still decided to go for our anniversary, and we liked the idea that we'd be on a small island away from everything. Since we travelled from KL, the journey to Gem Island wasn't bad. We were greeted with smiling faces and it was like that the...
