This hotel and this place could be a one star place for you or 5 star place, depends on your needs for a nice trips.
I start with 1 star service and places. The nightmare part in this hotel is bathroom. The bathroom is the worse part of your room. We changed the room 2 times but the quality and cleanliness of the bathroom was same and worse. It is too dirty and smelly. Everything is too old and rusty and needs to be clean very well.
The 2 star part of this hotel is the meals. Quality and variety is low and the type of the foods are mostly Malaysian.
The 3 star part is the room. Eventhough the room is a bit old but still is not that bad and axceptable. We stayed in Executive superior room for 3 nights and the room quality and view is 3 star.
I would give 4 star to the staff. They are so friendly and kind and try to make you happy all the time. Once we ask reception to change the room she did it quickly and gave us a nice room with great pool and sea view. The number of the staff are very low even less than 10 persons and that's one of the reason of the lack of cleanliness in some part of the hotel. But generally speaking I will give 4 star to the staff of this hotel. Also the dive center and the manager of dive center is a nice guy (Joe). He is so friendly and helpfull. I really enjoyed the time that I had passed in the dive center.
5 star part of the hotel is the pool, beach and the sea. It is amazing and wonderful. So quiet and peacful place. You can enjoy the beauty of the beach and the sea and enjoy the place for the whole day.
The staff every day clean the beach.
Generally speaking, this place has all the stars for different services. It could be a nighmare or a wonderful trip for you depends on your expectation abou your trip.
Also bear in mind that U mobile is not functioning there and hotel dosen't have any WIFI at all. So needs to have Celcom sim card for Internet. We had Umobile only and had to but Celcome from Summerbay hotel from the other side of the island.
In total I will give this hotel 3 star.

After so many considerations and last minute enquiries my partner and i decided to drag ourselves to Pulau Lang Tengah. We wanted to go somewhere private and secluded to get out from the hustle and bustle, we thought Lang Tengah would be perfect and we booked D'coconut Lagoon after reading so many good reviews about the place. We went to the office near Ampang if I'm not mistaken and we chose the deluxe low room/fullboard as it was just for a short period. So it cost around 400-500 per person.

It took us around 6 hours drive from KL to Kuala Terengganu, it would be my first and last time driving to the east coast as it was so far and tiring.

I used Google maps instead of waze guide us, and we did lost our way for 10 mins. It was pretty easy location to find actually, there was a designated parking area and the lady who attend to us at the head office told us that they ensured that the place was safe to leave our vehicle. We paid around rm20 for the parking fees. However beware of the cow dungs lying around.

It was around an hour boat drive to the island, I was at awe when we reached there the water is crystal clear blue or turqoise. We were greeted by the staff and they carried our bags up to the lobby and settled to check in. We were given welcome drinks and been told about the schedule at that place. Afterwards we were guided to our room.

As i mentioned earlier, we chose the deluxe low room. I think it was better looking than the place I stayed at Perhentian. I mean what would u expect at a place in a middle of nowhere. Our room was located at the east wing overlooking the pool and the lobby. I was a bit curious because I wondered where all the foreign tourist went as they were on the same boat with us. I spotted a number of locals staying at the east wing. The room I would say , it was decent. There were two queen sized beds, a dressing table , a rack to hang clothing. The room had a funny musty smell , and the toilet is a bit old for my liking. The bathtub was a bit dirty, overall it was bearable. I was thinking how am i going to survive 2 nights at this place *cries*

On the same day we went with the other guests for a snorkeling trip. The weather was scorching hot, please remember to pack up your sunscreen. As recalled we stopped at 3 places. From my experience i think Perhentian has much more to offer . Better water visibility, and more sea creatures to spot. So on the boat I overheard the others were talking that the west wing has much better food and all the angmohs are staying there. So that solved my curiousity earlier.

Went back feeling tired and hungry and waiting patiently for dinnertime i made my decision. I told my partner, I want an upgrade I do not want to stay here as I''m on my period and i don't feel comfortable. He told me its up to me he doesn't mind. So I went up to the lobby and asked the receptionist whether may I upgrade my room to the west wing. At first the person in charge seems lazy to attend to me and told me that the only room left was the cabana which was the most lavish one they have.Immediately told him yes I'll take it, i paid an extra 600 bucks for the upgrade and they immediately arranged for our baggage pickup.

It was quite a walk from the east wing to the west wing, around 5-8 minutes I would say with our things. There was no proper pathway, and on the left and right there were trees all over. A bit of jungle trekking i would say . Arriving there it was a total change . The place was magnificent. We were guided to our room. The room had a nice smell , no mustiness to it. We were provided by bedroom slippers a much relief to me. A proper wardrobe, fully air conditioned, a king sized bed with netting , a huge toilet but no bathtub. Overall I was a happy gal. We had our dinner afterwards and to much delight the food is so so much better there.

So throughout my stay there, we went snorkeling in front of the room. The view is superb during sunset and sunrise. The water was crystal clear spotted number of fishes such as the clown fish and also baby black tipped sharks. I was delighted and I would say the place is quite safe. There were no lifeguards around so please be careful. After dinner we were much bummed as there is not much to do at night.

So I will list what i like and dislike about the place. The west wing has better rooms I would say but we were not told earlier how the place was segmented. There is an outdoor bathtub in the cabana however it was poorly maintained. The water was rusty, insects and dried leaves everywhere.Ants and small creepy crawlies inside the bathroom. Food wise , the west wing had more choices and also much much nicer than the east wing. Old furnitures were rummaged beneath the rooms at the west wing, which I don't know why. I believe the place would be perfect if it was well maintained.

What i love about the place, it is private and secluded i would say perfect for honeymooners or people who would like an escape. The pool in the west wing is so nice, i believe it is a salt water pool with water from the sea. It was warm and inviting. The place itself is calming and healing. Overall a good stay for me and my partner and we would definitely come back again.

Arriving from Berjaya Redang on a speed boat is a pleasant experience. The beach at Redang is undeniably beautiful but the Lang Tengah experience feels far more the real deal in terms of private paradise. D'Coconut lagoon is spread over two coves, both with their own pool and resturant so the whole place feels small and uncrowded. You walk over the ridge along a small path between the two through the jungle, which is filled with fruit bats and other beasties. Very exotic!
The rooms are clean and comfy but a little basic.
The food is ok in both restaurants but i would recommend eating the local fayre as the western style food was indifferent. Try the cocktails at the beach bar, a walk down the deserted beach to watch the sunset with a cocktail made for you with milk from freshly harvested coconut is the perfect apertif.
My husband really rated the dive operators and the diving was as good as at Redang but far cheaper and in smaller groups. The island is surrounded by dive sites and all the usual parrotfish, wrasse, sharks and nudibranch are there to be seen.
I would definately recommend this small, incredibly friendly hotel to anyone who wants to chill and enjoy paradise. Go! Enjoy!

Went there last week. Stayed in West Wing for 3 days 2 nites. Food at West Wing was 2nd most horrible at any hotels I stayed before. And they gave me a dark room with half working air conditioner. Water stopped for a few hours at hours when we needed it most for 2 days. I was bitten by bed bugs now my body, hands and legs are red with bug bites marks. No one made the beds which later I found out later that they will only clean the room and make the beds when requested.

Never going back there ever again.

We went there with our kids and another family. Here are some highlights of the worst service in a resort that charges close to KL 4 star hotel prices. No ice cubes, no cut chili (Malaysian staple), cafe not open in the afternoon, really the crapiest food ever, Asian and Western food is bland, an adult in our group had food poisoning on the 2nd day!!!

The beach and pool was nice, the resort did sweep the beach in the morning, the kids loved the beach and the marine life.

For anyone reading this , don't go to this resort unless you can put up with this crap...the charges which we paid 3300 RM for 2 adults and 3 below 8 kids is ridiculous for a place like this.

It’s a shame that some of the other trip advisor members did not have a good experience at the D’Coconut Lagoon. As like everything else, I guess the timing is the most important thing. I stayed at this resort in May 2007 and we got executive deluxe rooms in the newer and more modern West Wing. The room was great, but after reading some of the other reviews, I do agree that that some of the room amenities like glasses and a working kettle were non existent. We did get a room where the curtain rail was broken and every time we wanted to open or close the curtain one of us would have to stand on a chair and literally move the whole curtain rail as it was no longer attached to the wall. My better half also somehow managed to pull the shower head off the wall while taking a shower (how I don’t quite know!!). But these were all small minor issues that did not in any way affect our stay on the island or resort! They did turn of the generator from 3-5pm, which means no power, but once again it is well timed. 3pm is when everyone goes off on the snorkelling trip so next to no one is their rooms anyway, so you really don’t know the power has gone off.

I guess while we were there, the idyllic location more than made up for everything else. There was practically no one at the west wing of the resort. Our party took two rooms and I think only one other room was occupied. So it really did feel like our own personal paradise. The beach was gorgeous with crystal clear waters and white sand. There were comfortable and clean deck chairs and plenty of towels. Even the pool and outdoor Jacuzzi was fantastic!!

As the resort was fairly quiet, there was not a lot of staff around, but we never had to wait too long to be served. We did not take the full board option, so ordered whatever we wanted from the menu; always opting for the local food which we thought was pretty decent. The bar was very good, excellent cocktails and one of the best chocolate milkshakes I have ever had!!

We were island hopping and did find that D’Coconut was a tad more expensive compared to the resorts we stayed at on other islands, but this was the only place where we literally had the place all to ourselves that none of us could complain! We certainly thought that the seclusion was worth paying for.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone else. Try and avoid Malaysian school holiday periods as even the staff said that these are the times when the resort is fully booked and very hectic!! The staff are lovely and more than willing to attend to your every need!!

Come here for the location!!

My wife and I booked 4 nights in this hotel during our trip to Malaysia.
The first impression was terrible: the resort is decadent, the rooms are old and definitely not worth the price and supposedly high standing of the hotel. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived and we realized it wasn't the room we had asked for, but they were nice and gave us another room (still as decadent). The island is very small (as expected), so we gave it a try.
Once we went beyond the decadence of the place, we managed to enjoy everything outside the room: the pool (salty water) is really nice, the view is breathtaking, the semi-private beach is ideal, the food was quite good, the staff nice and the snorkeling trips a lot of fun.
BUT a couple days after we left, I realized my mosquito bites were not going away and I was getting more of them, although there were not mosquitoes where we were after Lang Tengah. It turns out they were not bites from mosquitoes, but from bed bugs! Our bed (which was quite old and dirty) must have been full of them. This is so DISGUSTING and UNACCEPTABLE from a "high-standard" hotel.
I sent an email to the resort to warn them for future customers, but they didn't even take the time to reply.
So if you go there, be aware!

This our 1st time trip to lang tengah island. We when 4pax (2 couples )so we manage to book the room at east wing via email and pay the full amount .
1-3oct2015 its 3days and 2night

Journey to Merang Jetty
We took a bus from klang to kuala terrengganu its about 8hr journey departure at 10pm 31sept2015 and reach 1oct2015 5am morning. Once we reach at kt bus stop many car pool people trying ask us " whr r u going" . we manage to get 1 car with low rate rm40 per way to jetty straight. its too early so we ask him to drop us near 24hr mcd for breakfast then travel to jetty which about 1hr from kt to merang . once reach at jetty was warm welcome by the staff - departure sharp 10am to island - its wasn't so bumpy ride and its 45 mins journey in boat to island.

Reception to room:

Once the boat arrived to the island I was greeted by bell boys but we carried our own bags. From there a staff member welcomed me with a greeting & offered a refreshing drink as part of the arrival. once at reception the guy told us our room was upgrade to west wing executive room deluxe pool view . we was so happy and excited cause west wing room quite expensive.

travel to room
its was mini jungle trekking and we had to carry our luggages to the room seems bell boys didn't approach us so we carried our own luggages and walk up with huge feeling excited.

I stayed at the West Wing Executive rooms. The room was nice, cool & clean. Clean bedsheets & a clean bathroom!
The amenities in the room included: A kettle, some tea sachets & cups, a wardrobe with hangars, a mirror, a shower with hot water system, A/C system with safety power switch, a queen size bed & a single bed, a balcony complete with table & chairs.

Pool & Beach at both the West & East Wing beaches:

Now the beach is the cleanest beach I've ever seen on an island, white sandy beaches. Most mornings you will see ground staff cleaning the walkways, the sand of any debris & the occasional garden maintenance.
The west wing side of the resort I stayed in the swimming pool was excellent, it is saltwater, had good sun exposure so the water was naturally cool & has its own spa/ jacuzzi.
The beach has sun lounging chairs for your pleasure.

A few words to describe them: All staff members working at this resort are all very helpful & most spoke good English and were very understanding. They showed that they cared about the working environment & showed initiative.

Since I stayed at the West wing resort food was excellent, cause its was pleasant seafood and few main dishes buffet more over the time we when was less people like 10 pax only but food is still delicious .

Snorkelling trip
1st day
2.30pm to 4.30pm
we pretty excited cause i m a diver but my fianncee and my buddys frens are new and dont to swims but since less crowd they bring us small boat only.2 dive spot which incredible to say the corals and fish was wow factor to us . those don't know to swim the there will be guidance but the boat boys for us .

2nd day
2.30pm to 4.30pm
but this time is big boat and another place around the island for dive and snorkelling.
once we back to our hotel point jetty myself, 1 of the boat boy and my buddy we jump of at the middle sea. Yeah we manage to see many clown fish underneath deep around 2m only and manage to catch one but didnt kill just to see only . its east wing beach you can see clown fish .

morning we was snorkelling in front west wing beach . wow u no need to go deep sea snorkelling 1.5m height u can see beautiful corals and fishes ready. its was beautiful and low deep you can see beautiful world under neat.

Excellent stay, very helpful staff, cleanliness, good food, awesome stay, very quiet and most important the beach is wow wow wow .........

There are just a few things I would also like to recommend to hotel
1- Our room aircond wasnt cold but we informed yes you did repair but remain same only. Please do the maintenance
2- 2nd day 5013 room heater spoil however we complain when check out date only . its was working properly but 2nd day night when off. Please do the maintenance
3- All the rooms dont have wifi and tv and phone signal which not so stable. Please upgrade your hotel services

Other than that my stay at D'Coconut Lagoon was a very rewarding stay & experience. I would come stay again in the near future!

Room Tip: Choose rooms located on the "West Wing" as it's newer & quieter.and the food only will be serve at west wing only .

among all the hotel in lang tengah island this is cheapest compare others hotels

This resort is separately into 2 different wings: the east and the west. I noticed there were more foreigners at the west while there were more locals at the east. The receiption counter and the jetty is on the east. Thus, guests staying at the west will have to walk through the east everytime you coming out. It takes about 5-8 mins walk in between the wings. There is cafeteria on both sides, if the guest is placed on the east then he will dine at the east's cafeteria.
The west sections seems to be more relax/quiter compare to the east.
Both wings have their own swimming pool but guests are free to access any of both.

Upon booking, the airport-jetty-resort transfer, back and forth, will be arranged. I wasnt sure whether is there only 1 boat going into the resort but im pretty sure they only provide 1 boat getting out out the resort, which is 8am every morning. You can try to arrange the flight time so you dont have to waste too much in Kuala Terrenganu city or the airport as there are really nothing much to do there.
It takes about 30mins from the airport to the jetty and another 40mins from the jetty to the resort. When the sea condition is a little rough, you can expect up to 1hour boat ride.

The room was very clean. As for mine, it comes with a double bed and a single bed (and a couch). The toilet is clean too, the only complaint is the water supply and the water pressure. There was once, the water became slower and slower and it stops while i was bathing!! The water pressure was low throughout the stay. Sometimes, the water seems to be yellowish.
One of our rooms' air con was warm. It was alreadly late in the evening when we discover that, so we ask the operator to check it the next day. Then only it was serviced.

Please take note for the stuff that will be provided and wont be provided;
-clean towels (replaced daily)
-shampoo/body shampoo (replaced daily)

-tooth brush
-tooth paste
-hair dryer
-drinking water
-tv set
-safe box
-telephone (needless to say, there is no room service. If you need anything or wish to ask anything, you will need get out of the room and ask)
-electricty in your room (only during off peak hour, which is 1430-1730[continue reading and you will know why])

There is only 1 activity provided, the 1 that is included with the room packages - SNOOKELLING. Only 1 session a day and it starts at 1430 and it takes around 2 hours (that's when the room electricity will be cut off. The map shows there's quite a few spots to snorkel but we were brought to snorkel at the spot seems like the same for 2days.
Dive masters were very caring about guests safety. They gave briefings about the corals and fish and the current. They will even send a dive master out to 'test water' before letting into the sea.
The resort does provided scuba diving but guest will need to arrange separately and there is an amount to pay.
The snorkel equipment (snorkel mask, tube, fins, life jacket) is available for rent. The resort charges rm10/per item/per day.
Other then the only snorkel session provided, guests will have to find own leisure or just relax by the beach.
Board games are availabe at the reception counter.

Food and drinks are included in the packages. It is served in buffet style but, only few choices. Food at the west wing are generally more western while food at the east wing are more to local. Guests at the east will have more selection then the west as there are probably 3-4 dishes to choose from at the west while the east prepared 4-5 dishes. The choices are more or less the same, meal to meal, day to day.
Coffee, tea and biscuits are free to grab, 24 hours a day.
Drinking water are available all day long too. Drinking water is not served in the room, not even a bottle of compliment mineral water. I would you to bring a water bottle along as the drinking water is available for refilling purpose at the cafeteria all day long.
Other then buffet, cafeteria does offer ala carte menu. The price maybe a little pricey as the food appears to be just so-so (i did not order any food from the ala carte menu, just saw how it looks like, didnt know how it tastes like). Soft drinks, beer and mineral water (yes, they do sell water. You buy it and refill it with the drinking water from the cafeteria. For your info, it rm6 per bottle. 1liter).

-the staff were friendly, eager to help
-beautiful beaches, soft white sands
-clean and comfortable room
-reasonable price

-perhaps, too relaxing that it felt a little bored
-low quality of water, in terms of pressure and cleanliness
-so-so food
-spots to snorkel

My friend and I took the full board(full meals, jetty to lang tengah transfer, accommodation) 3d2n package with a tour agent(shajasa) for RM385 each. We parked our car at the Pelangi parking lot at the Merang Jetty for RM30 for 3 days. Speed Boat ride takes about 45mins, pick up from jetty 11am. (Boat leaves from resort back to Merang jetty at 8am or 1pm during peak season) Upon arrival we were greeted by Kelly and we were upgraded to executive deluxe room from standard room *yay* We stayed in the west wing which is the newer wing. The room comes with a king bed (actually it was 2 supersized single beds paired together) and another single bed at the side of the room. No TV but with a very cooling AC and fridge. The water heater can be a lil hot if your friend bathes first and used up the cold water. Towel and toiletries provided (except for tooth brush/paste) We love the food!! Might be a lil spicy for foreigners but really nice :) drinking water is fillable at the dining area, bring a bottle for refill as it won't b provided in the room. Daily housekeeping available.
Some activities that you can consider in this island;
1)Watch sunrise. You need to hike to Batu Kucing 25mins hike from east wing. Would highly recommend this as the view is really spectacular, do wear hiking shoes as it might be a lil slippery and get a guide to go with you cos itZ really dark in the morning (start your hike at 545am) Just arrange with really the helpful Mr Daniel (east wing manager)
We went with Mr Jemil (guide) he is really nice, he actually went with us in the evening and then the next morning to watch the sunrise. He is really attentive and nice!!!

There are 2 beautiful swimming pools in the hotel. East wing pool is quieter but bigger west wing has beautiful seaview and a jacuzzi.
Swimming in the sea is a lil difficult cos there are a lot of dead corals and can be painful when the tide is low.

3)Catch blue sands!
We were really fortunate, we were talkin with Mr Govindran who works at the dining place and he told us about the blue sands (pretty glowy organism in the sea which is really beautiful at night) He was so kind and offered to take us to the jetty somewhere around the Sari Pasifica Resort (15mins walk) to see them. They are better viewed in the dark when the tide is low.

Blue lagoon really nice place to snorkel :) u can see blue lagoon from Batu kucing.

5)Star gazing

6) Watch sunset
Better view in front of Sari Pasifica, get a drink or dinner meals and watch the scenic sun set in front of your eyes!

What I love about his resort is the staffs, they are really helpful from the housekeepers, restaurant staffs, managers, boatmen, pool keeper, everyone is so nice to you and helpful! Would really recommend this resort if you r in lang tengah!

FYI, This island is very different from Redang and Perhentian as it is really purely for those who wants a getaway from everything! No partying or shops available, just 4 resorts in the island. However there is a beach bar with the hotel but no loud music. Would recommend this island if you want a quiet holiday, else if you want to party perhentian kecil might be a better option.
