Me and my friends just return from vacation there on 16-18 Sept. Overall it was OK given the price paid for full board 3D2N (RM 350 / USD 110)
Transport ------------ We paid extra RM30 / USD10 for transport to the jetty. It was supposed to be bus/van with aircond but we were greeted with an old van with windows down. The journey took almost 40 mins. At the jetty, we took an hour ride of speedboat to the resort. Our speedboat stranded in the middle of the sea for 30 due to some technical problem. Piece of advise, get some seasick med beforehand just in case.
Food ------- Buffet style food is served at time scheduled. Breakfast 700am - 8.30am Lunch 1200pm - 130pm. Teatime 400pm-500pm. Dinner 600pm - 730pm. Food was ample and they keep refilling. Edible but still have lots of room for improvement. Alternate BBQ dinner (only additional of BBQ fish and lamb). Free flow tea/coffee and toast available from 700am to 700pm.
Accomodation ------------------ Budget resort with bearable cleanliness. The room that we had consist of 2 queen size bed, 0.5 HP aircond, ceiling fan and water heater. No cabinet, no TV, no kettle, no iron and no hair dryer. Do not expect room service and change of clean towel during your stay. Power will be cut off for few seconds at 7am, 2pm, 7pm. The only complain was that we saw a 30cm black lizard and a palm size spider in the room on our second night!! That kept us awake all night long as they hide below the bed and we couldn't chase them away. Maybe we were just unlucky, hopefully the other rooms were better.
Snorkeling ------------- Additional RM30 / USD 10 for goggle and life jacket. Depart from the resort at 200pm daily. You can opt not to join. Roughly 2 hours for the whole snorkeling trip as they will need to rush back by 400pm for teatime.
Nightlife ---------- There are some board games, mahjong and pool table for rental. Free karaoke at 830pm to 1200am. There is a mini bar there too with some not-so-shabby music to keep you entertained. A walk at the beach or night snorkel would be a good choice too. There is another resort 100m away which have another bar (Sari Pacifika). A small TV lounge but with only certain channels.
Overall it was an adventurous and relaxing trip. Will be back next time for diving course. :)

Just came back from Summerbay@Redang Lang Island resort under 3d/2n package. We took the standard room housed in the old Redang Lang block. The room is decent but the air-cond is not really working as it is using the old type compressor. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed looked clean. However after 2 nights sleeping on the bed, we started getting itchy all over our bodies especially those parts of our body not covered by any attire during sleep. Have to go to clinic today to get ointments to relieve the redness and itchiness. The doctor said this is a clear case of bed bugs. So don't be fooled by the look of cleanliness. Food is also average. My advice - spent a bit more and stay in Sari Pacifica next door.

If all you want is to dive/snorkel and are not bothered by much else, this is the place for you. The beach is classic white sand and palm trees, the sea turquoise and the sea teeming with colourful fish. The dive centre is apparently good.
But on the other hand the rooms are very basic (though with fan and noisy AC), the food variable but generally adequate and there is no bar or anything (though the shop sells beer). It's all a bit regimented - be 10 minute past the advertised meal times and you risk supplies being exhausted; the loudspeaker comes out to summon you to the daily snorkelling trips etc.
Unlike the resorts on the Perhentians, this seems targeted largely at the domestic market, with most coming for 2 nights/3 days (large groups of students over the weekend). The karaoke is institutional! Our 10 day stay seemed to be pretty unusual, but it allowed us to get into a very relaxed rhythm, hanging out on the beach and exploring the amazing reef, and to get to know the staff.
it certainly seemed to be the best of the resorts on the island. We went to Redang on a couple of snorkelling trips, and the reef on Lang Tengah seemed to be a match for the one there. During the week it was pretty quiet, but even when busy at the weekends, the numbers weren't overwhelming.

I went to Lang Island with my family from Sept17-19,2011. I booked a package from an agent. The price is 325MYR/person.
The overall experience with this resort is all right, before I go, I did a lot of research, the only luxury resort is next to this one. Basically you get what you paid for! I am happy about the price I paid and the service I received.
Someone will meet us at the jetty, when we arrived on the island. staff came to greet us and introduced the island to us.
The room is very basic but you are on holidays on an island, you won't stay inside all the time, will you?
Not many people here so the beach is quiet and nice! A chinese movie was just shot not far from Redang resort so you can still see the house/scene built up for the movie which are quite nice and romantic!
The snorkelling trip offered by Redang lang resort is great! We saw a lot of fish and really enjoyed ourselves
So if you want a quiet stay in the beach, Lang island is a better choice than redang island, of course, the more you pay, the better service you will get! I am happy about what I paid for, so overall 4 star for my stay.

This is the first time I went to P. Lang Tengah. There are total of 25 ppl in this trip, it's a big group of us. We went there for 3 days and 2 nites.
First of all, the resort had arranged a bus for us, to and from the resort. This is really convenient for us as we dont need to think how to get there. Maybe this can be done as we are in a large group but yet, my point is they are willing to make this kind of arrangement.
Next is about the rooms. Well, for all of us, we are comfortable with the rooms condition. We spend less time in the room coz we are having a lot more time at the beach, snorkelling, etc.
About facilities, you wont feel boring in the resort at nite. There is KTV room, pub, table pool game and TV. You can also rent beach ball, mahjong and tables provided. One thing is that you need to share these facilities with the other tourists there but this cant be avoided unless you book the whole resort rite?
About the food, well, all of us were impressed for the food provided especially the first day we reached there. It really tastes nice and there is a lot of variety for you to choose, from chicken, fish, fishball, soup, vege and fruits! We dont expect so many food provided and again, it's tasty! For the next 2 days, more and more tourists are coming and the food was finished before the dining time. But the staffs here immediately cook some food for us who didnt eat yet. So, no need worry about nothing to eat as long as it's dining time. They provide breakfast, lunch, teatime and dinner here. If you want supper, there are burger selling in the resort too.
Activity here, mainly is snorkelling and jungle trekking. We went snorkelling for 2 times and jungle trekking for 1 time. For snorkelling, it's fun. The sea here is not yet polluted so the view is really good. For jungle trekking, it's extremely cool! As we took the route that led us to a more beautiful view! We reach the site which full of rocks after coming out from the jungle. Climbing those rocks (which is a bit dangerous, but really worth trying as you will feel the contentment) and standing on the rock and looking towards the sea, it's just wonderful!! Of course, you can choose to have your own free activity here like playing beach ball, looking stars at nite and the seaside and many more. Also, the workers here are also friendly and nice.
My conclusion here, if you are seeking a place for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, this resort in Pulau Lang Tengah is surely one of your choice! You will be amazed by the crystal clear sea water and beautiful blue sky here! Come to see the beauty of this place with your own eyes! Cameras can never capture the same view as what you see with your own eyes! =)

We stayed there in the very last week before the resort closed down for monsoon season so we were two of the five last guest in the entire resort. This might explain but not justify some of the following. Pick-up at our hotel in downtown Kuala Terengganu worked really well, driver was friendly. Still we had to wait one hour for the jetty to the island. On the jetty, we got the first impression of the staff's perception of professionality when one of them was smoking while sitting on the cooking gas tanks that the boot took to the island. As we paid about 60 € per night (quite a price in Malaysia) we were expecting a nice and cozy room. Instead, it was more like a budget hostel room, no difference to rooms we paid only 30 RM a night for in other places. The staff seemed totally bored and waiting to get home the next days. They were sitting around all day occupying the two hammocks near the beach, watching us like a street gang when we were passing by. We couldn't figure out what was supposed to be their job in the resort. But the worst thing and the reason we left the island earlier than we had booked was THE FOOD. Constantly cold, chinese inspired food, not any variety, not tasty at all. The food was waiting for us (at least covered by a fly screen...) on the table of the dining area when we got back from the beach. Probably it waited for a long time...No one informed or asked us about when we would like to have dinner/lunch. You could say that the reason we hated the food was our european taste but even an other asian guest was disgusted. When we were served cold burgers and fries one time as the sole variation, the guy said "Today we are lucky". It was just not acceptable to be on holiday and go to bed hungry (as you have no opportunity to eat elsewhere). No one seemed surprised when we asked to shorten our stay, they seemed happy to be able to close down the resort earlier. Most of the staff went back to the main land with us. If the food and the room hadn't been such a disappointment, we would have enjoyed our stay as the island is really beautiful, great for snorkeling - just how you imagine your dream island.

We've (couple 27 year) have been there 2 night's in july 2011. There are only package deals to go there en all the other resorts were fully booked, so we took this resort as a last change to see Lang Tenah.
Overall: Terrible, more like last year primaryschool's camp then a resort. Timescheduled food (breakfast from 7-8h, lunch 12-13h, dinner 19-20h) has no variety and is bad. Made of lowbudget products for big groups.
Room: Small, No airco and not clean at all. Snorklingtrip: Not as promised 3 times, but only 2 times, but after the first trip (about 70 people on 2 boats together where they throw lost off bread in the water so fish will come...) we didn't feel like goiing on the second one. By the way at the " resort" we had to pay an additional 60 Ring to hire a snorklingset for 2 days!?!
This all is bad, but it gets worse. The women who worked there when we where there were nasty, not at all friendly people.
So in total my advice is: DO NOT go there if you want to visit Lang Tenah. We had a perfect experience in the Perhentians (New Cozy chalet/ Coconut with seaview!)

In summary, this was the worst, terrible & tiring trip i ever experience before. 1, The bus the used to transfer us from Airport to jetty is no aircond. been toasted in bus for 30minute 2, When we reach the jetty, the tour leader did not well plan the schedule and cause us wait for nothing for 2 hours 3, According to speed boat driver, the resort never service the speedboat. Air pollution to the sea 4, Finally reach the resort, but greet by unfriendly staffs, no briefing of activities was provided, they expect you to read the white board yourself 5, Lunch time!! the food was terrible, because we are slightly late, all the food is gone and never replenished. After a big fight with staff only get our self a simple vegetable & fried eggs 6, Room: the bed was dirty and uncomfortable, toilet can't flush water. After another round of complaint the resort management only send a staff to repair. The only facilities available in room is 2 tower & soap. Don;t dream of TV, kettle, freeze, hair dryer ... 7, Activities: Snorkeling trip is very short - only 2hrs, according to speedboat driver, their boss want them back to resort before 4pm for tea time. so they only bring us snoke near by the island 8, BBQ dinner: they only serve chicken, lamb, sausage. The fish only limit one for each person. When you take more than 1 they will questioning you and show a black face ... hey ! do they understand what is meaning of buffet??? of course, the quality is bad and tasteless, quatity is not enough and never replenished. They even control each person 1 plate (for reason they have no enough plate) to limit the food taken. 9, The power trip will happen few time a day, especially 7am, 12pm, & 4pm. The reasopn provided by them was they treat this as morning call for breakfast, lunch & tea time ... hey ... what if we plan to sleep late (this is holiday), do they think they will disturb us??? 10, the only pro side is environment was nice, chrystal clear water. Overall, this is the worst trip i've experienced before. after the trip i feel more exhaus & tiring. Will not recommence this hotel to other. If you really like Lang Tengah island, try D'coconut or Sari pacifica.

Read the review and go in with your eyes open. We had 2 nights here and did not expect too much and were pleasantly surprised. We got a private boat from Perhentian island to Lang Tengah, arranged by the resort... no hassles.. MYR400. The approach to the beach was tropically perfect with palm trees overhanging the beach, there is a really good jetty built to the left of the bay, but no one uses it unless it is low tide as too far for tourists to walk?? ... the resort itself is narrow and goes back from the beach a fair way, hence any views are saved for the eating balcony, and the rooms are towards the back.. Meals times are somewhat rigid and you do need to be there promptly. our first day ( we were the only westerners), the guests were more 'elderly chinese' we suspected, hence they seemed to not be shy in helping themselves to large servings our second day, there had been a changeover and the guests seemed younger and less desperate to take all the food, it was a little more leisurely, but better to get there earlier than later for meal times... the food was prepared in bulk with little finesse, the second day was a bbq, with fish and MUTTON... :)
our rooms were adequate and the bathroom somewhat tired to say the least, 2 beds and nothing else, but a/c a bonus.. the san pacifica up the beach was a welcome respite the second night for a nice (but expensive) bottle of wine, RLIR did serve beer but no wine...
The water was very clear and the reef and fish were excellent, .... we did one of the snorkling boat trips along with 50 other people, everyone wore life jackets to snorkle except us, we had never seen such a sight before... the boat took us right around the island, virtually back to our resort ( and nearly broached once), good snorkling at the first stop, We saw a reef shark and many fish we then stopped on the reef in front of d.coconut resort, give those 2 that sde of the island a miss, not a good reef either we did find a moray eel but a lot of dead coral there.. best reef between redang lang resort and sari pacifica
Saw, the scuba diver was patient and a good teacher... he doubled as the barman at night The Karaoke room was great fun and we joined in and as the only westerners were given a very enthusiatic welcome and ovation at the end...we were made to feel VERY welcome the next day everyone took photos us the mad Ozzie couple from the karaoke bar.....
2 days was long enough, and it was a great cultural experience,

OVERALL: I had a wonderful holiday in Lang Tangah island with 3 of my friends on July 2011. Fantastic beach with white sand, breeze and crystal clear water! We felt so peaceful and happy just looking at the sea...We got a good offer at Match Matta Fair to stay in Tengah Lang Resort.
RESORT: This is not really a resort, but a Chalet/ "Rumah Atap" (Malay Village House) type. Do not expect too much on the room or food. Anyway, it is still comfortable for us (4 girls) to stay.
When we reached the resort, the staff gave us a detail briefing before we entered our room. The power will be cut-off for few twice per day due to the switching power getset, just a small issue. The room equipped with air-cond, fan, 2 queen size bed and soap. No TV, no dressing table and wardrobe provided. Anyway, you can hang your wet swimming suit, life jacket and snorkeling mask outside the room.
Besides breakfast, lunch and dinner included in our package, (do not expect too much on the variety and taste of food) they provided free-flow tea, coffee and bread with butter and butter which we enjoyed very much. We spent plenty of time with our girl talk in the restaurant ^_^
ACTIVITY: 2 rounds of snorkeling and 1 jungle trekking for our 3 D 2N stay, and they took us to go 2 different area (around the island) for each snorkeling. Saw a lot of people playing volleyball and board game. At night, you can drink beer at the bar counter, watch TV with Astro at the public living hall, or sing Karaoke. A hawker stall was selling super tasty Keropok Lekoh and burger, Must TRY!
BEACH: Beautiful coral and fishes! You can even see turtle and baby shark if lucky enough! (snorkeling in front of resort). We enjoyed the Breathtaking Sea View after reaching the destination of jungle trekking! But the coral in front of all resorts (included other resort) are mostly dead and turn to white) We were told that If apply too many sunblock, the chemical ingredient will cause the death of carol and marine life...
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach boy even lead us to snorkel in nice area, help us to took plenty of beautiful photos and brought us to find "Blue Sand" at midnight, around 12.30am...Wonderful experience!!
If you do not have much concern about the quality of room or food, it was a nice chalet to stay. Just relax and enjoy the water activities, or just resting on the beach for sunbathing is good enough for us.
