On arrival to the wharf you have to pay a reef fee? I can't remember the cost but it goes towards the conservation of the area, as we motored out of the river to the see the piles of waste made me think the fee wasn't going where it should, the mainland beaches here hold a lot of waste, empty plastic bottles, bags, shoes you name it, sometimes on the tideline in piles a metre high and for hundreds of metres long, not so on the islands though. Maybe some of our "greenies" should go clean up Malaysian shorelines? We paid around $180AU per night for our room, if I compare that with resorts at home (AU) its expensive. The room was pretty tired, yeah it was clean and tidy all well kept but pretty old and cheaply done at the start. That doesn't mean we didn't enjoy the stay, the

Duration of stay : 5 days Overall experience : Good (EXCLUDING Tuna Bay's Chinese staffs horrendous attitude - esp the Bold Chinese guy at the restaurant!) Remarks : 4 stars for the resort, efforts put in to maintain beach, room cleanliness and comfortable surroundings. Not forgetting the Malay working staffs. Thank you for the hospitality! Merits: Cleanliness and hygiene : 4 stars Surroundings : 4 stars (clean and well maintained) Food quality : 3 stars Price : 4 stars Convenience : 4 stars (easy to find alternate restaurant and food - Abdul Chalet, Cocohut, ramlee burger, and mini market next to Tuna Bay) Absolute Demerits: 1. Do not feel welcomed! 2. Not being racist, but Kudos to the Malay working staffs - well mannered, demonstrated warmth and great hospitality,

My friends and I enjoyed a great stay here. We got a room without ocean view but the distance to the beach was just less than a min away. Great hospitality by the staff. Room only provides basic amenities with no tv and wifi but it was still comfortable and lovely. Water from the shower head and bidet was somehow limited and was weak. We had to wait for a few minutes for the water shower to work fully but it wasn't still as strong. Electrical generator will automatically switch off the electrical supply in the room if not in use but we can easily switch it on ourselves in the room. Possibly to reduce wastage of water and electricity. Overall, stay was great. Wouldn't mind returning for another stay especially since there is a snorkelling area right in front of the resort. Water

Tuna Bay was a very nice place to spend our time in the Perhentian. We liked it because of: Clean rooms that are in accordance with the pictures shown. Very helpful and friendly staff. Super good breakfast (a lot of both Asian and western choices). Very good restaurant. Cozy atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. We stayed two nights at tuna bay and before that two nights at an accomodation 200m north of tuna bay. We preferred tuna bay highly over the other. Very recommendable! Only con: A bit pricey (but that is the case with all accomodations at the big Island. Tuna Bay was still cheaper than the other accomodation)

Tuna Bay Resort is wonderful. In front of the beach rooms you can enjoy the white beach and the warm sea with plenty of fish, so snorkeling is amazing. All the people working in the resort are very helpful and you feel like beeing in paradise. The restaurant provides great food on fair prices. The athmosphere is like beeing in a big family. Especially Jimmy is so friendly and took care of us in an outstanding way! Thank you so much!
