Perhentian Tuna Bay Island Resort is located on the south west coast of Pulau Perhentian Besar (Big Island), a quiet, untouched part of the island surrounded by tropical jungle, on a broad expanse of powdery white sand. The resort commands a breathtaking view of Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Island) and the South China Sea, right on your doorstep. All chalets are just a minute's walk from the beach and are tastefully built with wooden furnish.
Tuna Bay Resort is wonderful. In front of the beach rooms you can enjoy the white beach and the warm sea with plenty of fish, so snorkeling is amazing. All the people working in the resort are very helpful and you feel like beeing in paradise. The restaurant provides great food on fair prices. The athmosphere is like beeing in a big family. Especially Jimmy is so friendly and took care of us in an outstanding way! Thank you so much!

very good situation in border of the beach. and Easy to go diving and many excursion.many deckchairs on the beach to relax The double room is very simple and not enough isolated from the noise. Unfortunateley guests of the hôtel do not respect environment and walking standing up on the corals in the sea of the beach in front of the hôtel. The resort should put staff to control the beach . Otherwise soon all the corals will be destroyed. This zone is like an aquarium you must préserve it

Good personalised hassle free service starting from the airport pick up, land transfer to the resort. Most of the staff are friendly and well trained. Powdery white sand, crystal clear water and colourful fishes are right at the resort beach...the house reef is definitely the biggest plus. Sad though that seeing so many corals had bleached and dead. Don’t expect too much of the room, just all basic and need some refurbishment. They’ve the own generator to take over the electricity cutoffs. And it’s definitely more convenient to at least have a water kettle in the room. Some tips: 1. For those with young kids, bring your own snorkel mask as only the adult version masks are available for rent. We got it from the nearest convenience store there at a steeper price with sub…

This is a beautiful Island and resort to stay at. We stayed here for 6 days in a beach front chalet after travelling around Borneo and had the most amazing and relaxing time there. The rooms have all the amenities you would need, and after walking around the island, I think Tuna Bay has by far the best beach and coral reef to snorkel on. The restaurant had a good selection of food for everyone and staff are always prompt with service. All the staff were helpful in various ways, either with local information or for local recipes, however I would like to make a special mention to Nurul at the Tuna Bay office mainland who went over and above the expectations of good customer service and is a credit to the resort. We would definitely pay Tuna Bay a visit again.

Stayed here for 4 nights with family. We arranged airport transfer and ferry through the hotel which was convenient but slightly more expensive than if we had done it ourselves. I'm ok with paying a little more for convenience. The beach was very nice and they had lounge chairs/umbrellas readily available. Snorkeling was ok but the corals were definitely a bit beaten up. Service in the restaurant was hit or miss. The BBQ starting at 7pm was definitely the way to go - great grilled barrundi, prawns, chicken, etc. Bfast buffet was a bit sub-par and coffee was AWFUL. My gripes are that the room did not have a mini fridge to keep drinks and water cool. Also, the water pressure in the shower was TERRIBLE. Almost impossible to wash long hair. Otherwise, we had a nice…

From the moment the Tuna Bay staff picked us up from the airport, we knew we were in good hands. Smooth transfer to Kuala Besut, straight onto a boat, delivered safe and dry to our island paradise. We saw guests at other resorts dragging their suitcases across the sand. Not at Tuna Bay! Your luggage is delivered from boat to room while you sit down with a welcome drink and check in. The rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need. Keep in mind that you are staying in a wooden hut on a tropical island and you won’t be disappointed. The hotel restaurant is decent enough. Not cheap for Malaysia, but we’re a captive audience, so no surprises there. I highly recommend trying the chicken and potato curry. If want something a bit cheaper, try Nia cafe just along the…

Spent 5 nights here in 2019, 14 years after spending 3 nights here. The rooms and the dining area are perfect. The beach is lovely. The corals have seen better days - a lot of coral decline in the 14 years since our first visit, but if it's your first time you won't notice the difference and to see all these fish and reefs on your doorstep is simply amazing. You're not forced to eat meals besides breakfast in the hotel - there are cheaper places just along the beach. Walk to other beaches and get boat trips to other beaches. See turtles and sharks in the sea. Really!!

Nice and clean rooms in a beautiful beach. The reef in front of the hotel is very and you can get cheap taxi boats to explore the island. Breakfast is very average, the guy at the egg station saves it! The chicken sausages are terrible, like plastic. I recommend the basic room as there isn’t much difference other than the view. Quite expensive for Malaysia standards, but perhentian is not a cheap island. I’ve been here 4 times and this is the best hotel I’ve been to. Good at the restaurant is expensive but good for perhentian standards, except for breakfast They should be a bit more eco-friendly to keep this island as beautiful as it is. They give a straw with every drink, even when you ask not to get one, there isn’t any place to refill water bottles and also some of the…
